The original concept album is better. It has better singers and composition.
Jesus is better on the album but Judas is better in the movie
I find just the opposite to be true. Album Judas is a bit more fierce while Ted Neely had a better voice than Album Jesus.
Neely gives a much more emotional performance than the album jesus
Carl is the GOAT but the album judas is underrated and arguably just as good

Gillan was touring with Deep Purple and came in and recorded his entire part in a matter of hours. His sheer charisma makes it a great performance. Neely was better suited for portraying Jesus on camera, though I would have loved if they had gotten Ian like they intended. Who knows how it would have turned out
