Rather than them being traveling to the future, the show just picks up where they left off, think Archie he never ages but he was around in the 50s and I'm sure he has a smart phone now.

I’m surprised you don’t know it just because it’s so common in comics and cartoons.
Superman and Batman debuted, they fought nazis in wwii. Time past, but they never got older. It’s not clear how old Batman is but he’s definitely somewhere in his 20s, and he remained that age every year. Even when they had the crisis reboot and year one, he remained the same age. He’ll appear older or younger in specific stories but in general time does not effect him
The Simpsons started in the 90s with 90s celebs and 90s tech. Now in the 2020s they meet 2020s celebs and use 2020s tech. But every character is the same age.
Peanuts ran for about 50 years without any characters growing into full adulthood.
        That’s a sliding timeline

They don’t need money anymore cause they’re children of the state now government bought them their old house as hush money their parents are dead we can assume Tom Anderson and Mcvicker are dead. Stewarts Dad can take Tom Anderson’s role as the guy who gives Beavis and butthead jobs and is a stand in for Boomers since Tom was a silent. Buzz Cut is the principal now I guess or a jaded Vandreason. White guy who ran the gas station is now Indian. Todd’s probably gone or in jail by now so Stewart could have taken up the role of local punks ass once he didn’t have beavis and butthead bullying him only to be filled with rage at the sight of beavis and butthead in current year he’d just think they were two kids who were like them instead of actually them cause no way they died. Could bring back Earl make him one of those tattood preachers and make him a gun rights activist. I guess they could run into Daria for a second and give her an existential crisis give beavis and butthead a job at star bucks and then she walks in to work on her shitty articles only to hear “diarrhea cha cha cha”. Could have the manager or burger world be the manager here too just older and more bitter having bounced from chain to chain. Only other regulars I can think of are those smart kids from the school the poetry girl/the fat kid they made moronic. Could bring back that foreign exchange student that beavis and butthead taught to be like him and have him be Xi or something idk they’ll probably just mostly use new characters

    >Butthead: I can't believe we're still alive, Beavis.
    >Beavis: Yeah, I know. It's like, every day I wake up and I'm like, wow, I'm still alive.
    >Butthead: I know what you mean. Sometimes I think about death and I'm like, wow, I'm not dead yet.
    >Beavis: Yeah. Death is like, the ultimate goal, you know?
    >Butthead: I heard that death is like, a big party and everyone's invited.
    >Beavis: Yeah, I want to go to that party.
    >Butthead: Me too. I hope we die soon.

so is the joke here that modern beavis and butthead would be censored to hell due to todays sensibilities?
