How long before comics Steph is queer?
Remember they had no issue making Tim Drake bisexual. With Steph it should be even easier and maybe address why she was so happy for Tim to come out.

Mister Terrific was a gay man in that one show, DC doesn't tend to make a lot of synergy with shows.
And yes, I know you just want to talk about your yuri fetish, but I still wanted to say this.
They changed his name to Curtis Holt instead of Michael though, because the show knew they changed him too much. From making him gay to his origin no longer involving him being a widower. So essentially a character influenced by Comics Michael Holt but not the exact same character.
The same doesn’t apply to Steph.
No Cluemaster
No Spoiler
No Tim Drake
No interaction with Bruce
No lower-middle class background
Goes to Gotham Academy instead of public schools
No pregnancy
Actually a moron (to be fair, everyone on the show is a moron, not unique to Steph)
Even if you want to go with Batman Eternal as the origin, as Natalie Abrams does clearly love that comic, the only thing they've really drawn from that comic is the tension between Steph and Harper, which in the comics never turned into love.
It's just as much of an In Name Only adaptation as Mr. Terrific.
>No Cluemaster
I thought her parents got casted a while back. Is he just some fricking guy?
He's Arthur Brown, gameshow host and her mom is a pill-popper(which I'm surprised they kept since it's a fairly early status quo that hasn't been touched in decades) But her dad isn't a supervillain, he just keeps his wife heavily medicated(his comic self tried to get her clean by threatening to kill her)
That said, the writer outright said that she heavily wrote her character based off her own life so make of that what you will.
Sigh… I can’t say I really give a frick about Stephanie’s sexuality, but of all characters, male or female, Harper is absolutely the worst one to shackle her to. Harper’s the reason Steph ever became such a pale imitation of herself in the first place. To write an accurate Stephanie in that relationship is to basically make her frick herself, and to write it as it was presented in BE is to make her a completely different character. Both suck.
It's 100% just a way to make Steph Gay regardless of who she was going to end up with. same thing with Tim hooking up with a random supporting character who got like 5 appearances 18 years ago. Kon and Cass would've been preferred in both cases but they couldn't get them, so instead they just got the ball rolling for that possibility in the future.
I personally don't mind her being bi, but I think making her lesbian just because kissing two other boys didn't "feel right" is silly. Just feels like they need to cram the writers years of life experiences into like 7 episodes of interaction.
>I personally don't mind her being bi,
gay. Nothing good ever comes out of making characters into queers.
Not true.
Teen girls become more sexually actively. Because being more active with other girls is acceptable. However being really sexually scribe with teen boys, makes them into bawds.
Not my opinion. But random in general.
Again, nothing good ever comes out of retconning characters to suddenly becoming queers.

Not my opinion. But fandom in general.

There’s long been conversation about Steph being so drawn to Tim because he was a “safe” guy who didn’t want her sexually, so I don’t find it completely absurd to twist that into “all her relationships/infatuations with guys were some kind of compulsory daddy issues thing, and she eventually realizes she’s more comfortable with women.” A little absurd, but, not completely.
>A little absurd, but, not completely.
absurd? its insane
There’s really just not enough data to draw from to cement Steph as dick-crazy. She had one questionable and regretted relationship with an older guy, followed by a very chaste relationship with Tim, and then in the new continuity: a grief-fueled and once again sexless thing with Anarky, and now she’s staying at whatever base pinkie-holding is with Kyle. Honestly if they didn’t do this, they probably would’ve pulled a Gwenpool and made her not really into any of it, period.
Steph will be bisexual, it’s all cemented now.
The question now is, Will Cass be?
*lesbian
But will Cass?
The last thing the yellow fever/incel audience want is a lesbian waifu.
this is from detective comics 935
I think it's pretty obvious they banged
Man it's so amusing to me just how happy Cass looks that Steph is about to get railed. And given she knows body language, she has to know what they're about to do.
Christ I hate that shit like this is meant to be the foundation of the Steph and Cass dynamic we have now. Obviously things started off rocky with them in Post-Crisis, but this type of “Cassandra is barely a person” stuff where she’s a burden Steph has to grin and bear and her attempts to reach out for companionship are something she’s “doing to her,” is just kinda gross.
Well in Cass' case they seem to be ignoring that a lot of her rebirth stuff in favor of her solo run, to the point where Spirit World is going to reference the end of it.
Tynion's detective run is strange because it just sort of expects you to fill in blanks to make up for how patchy canon was. I kinda feel bad for him because I gaurantee this was his fanfic from like 2009 and he finally gets to make it canon but he's jumping through hoops because all these characters are different now.
I wouldn't say Tim didn't want her sexually, but he didn't push it. He was certainly attracted to her, and likewise. Another conversation I've seen is that the guy who was the father to Steph's baby was very likely older and probably pushed her to have sex and she went with it more out of a desire to feel wanted, which is a whole other can of worms. But on a whole I see her as the kind of person that wanted to find a sense of belonging and place, and finding someone to love was part of that.
That's why I would be ok with her being bisexual or queer, ultimately she has a part of her that longs to be loved or at least assured. That said, my personal headcanon would is also that she'd be in slight denial of that or that she'd have feeling for anyone but men, and that she wouldn't stick too hard to labels.
That’s Cluemaster’s background, so they’ll write his supervillain origin into the show
Just some guy.
But that should have happened a lot sooner. And been more important than who Steph is kissing.
It’s not a movie.
The show needs material spread over multiple seasons. If it’s renewed.
So they would soon have Cluemaster’s origin and probably be the big bad of a season
yes, because this show is clearly a intelligent, well written, well shot, well acted production that thinks about being a show rather than a movie.
NOT.
>But that should have happened a lot sooner.
Anon, Harvey is still just Harvey right now, artistic liberties have been taken.
For now. Dude seems unhinged. It wouldn’t surprise me if he goes full Cluemaster for next season, assuming it gets renewed.
The biggest hurdle for this would be that literally no one is watching or cares about Gotham Knights.
I watch.
Out of all the girls Steph could been with, it had to be Harper Row.
Fan favorite Harper Row?
So StephCass has a chance?
I'd say so.
Hawt!
Their last chance is this months last issue of Batgirls
It's already real in my mind
That would be the last straw for Dixon
The funny thing is, Dixon got the ball rolling on StephCass since he introduced the two teaming up in Batgirl and gave them their whole bickering, odd couple angle
yeah that dumbass thought he could just make a pair of friends who sometimes had tension. Should have seen current year nonsense coming
send the asteroid
Every time Dixon tries to avoid making characters sexual in any way it comes across as them being huge gays
he literally had Steph get impregnated though
Maybe you're just an idiot who cannot understand people who don't want to have sex with everyone around them. Just maybe.
Steph's biggest uphill battle is having nothing really lined up after Batgirls while Cass gets a role in BoP. But eve then Cass will be playing like third fiddle to Black Canary and Harley and I doubt they'll address her personal life much. Meanwhile the one writer who seems to like Steph right now seems to like pairing her with Jason, whether that's platonic or as a potential love interest is anyone's guess.
Maybe Steph and Harper will be involved in the upcoming Batman/Catwoman war crossover
I'm guessing we'll see a pair-the-spares Batfamily book. I mean this panel is already doing numbers alone
It's so funny that every week there's a thread about how to trim the Bat family and then everyone goes crazy for panels like this.
different audiences. Chuck Dixon a few weeks ago said something about how when he was at DC, older/hardcore fans tended to dislike the batfamily but more casual fans liked them. But fans who liked the batfam would engage more and send letters asking for more slice of life stuff. I don't think that's changed really.
Ultimately these companies are about building these characters as IPs more than individual comic sales. Sure, more 45 year olds might buy every Batman comic and variant cover, but they're literally a dying market. They don't spread what they enjoy about Batman to their kids(if they even have any), they don't post online and talk about it, they don't hype up the product. Meanwhile, that Batfamily breakfast panel will likely still be circulating online long after the storyline it's from is forgotten.
It's much better optics for a cute Chinese girl to do fanart and talk about Batfamily than it is for these characters to be associated with joyless aging men.
Panel reminds me that it's been years since Alfred died in Tom King's run.
Man, Duke is such a worthless character. He's just there to fill space in batfam crowd scenes so DC can say Bruce isn't racist.
why is there a nog with bacon?
Judging by the armor that's aqualad.
As of why he's there idk.
It's Duke
Why is Cass sipping tea and watching Duke’s ass cook bacon?
Is Harley confirmed for the new BoP team?
We’ll know tonight.
Based character.
Outsiders was a good showing for him.
And with Tim queer, we need a token straight teen male in Batfam
You got Damian.
No midgets allowed
>Shit character.
Fixed that for you
Holy shit, is Duke the last straight teen boy in Gotham? well Damian too I guess.
Yes he is if you don’t count Damien.
The good thing about Duke is that he’s straight sexually active.
Going out with both the Asian girl and the Latina in We Are Robin.
Showing interest in Lady Shiva’s body and Cass as well
I love Batgirls!
Is Steph gonna dump Kyle, or the writers would just forget his existence?
Dumping Kyle for this is cathartic for Steph since Tim did the exact same to her.
How would that be cathartic for Steph if she's throwing the negative energy at someone who didn't deserve it?
They never officially got together, they're just going out on dates. And yeah he's probably back to limbo unless Cloonan writes the next thing Steph is in; they basically only popped up because Cloonan co-wrote Gotham Academy.
Sadly, Steph being LGBT is probably what she needs to stay relevant. She'll probably be "queer", whatever difference that is compared to just being a lesbian.
Like bisexual most likely
>Steph being LGBT is probably what she needs to stay relevant.
lmao. a character suddenly become lgbt is the final nail in the coffin for them, anon. their new "relevance" is just them appearing once a year for the shitty pride special, and then being completely ignored for the rest of the year.
TRUE SHIT BROTHER
REAL TIM CHADS REMEMBER THE GOOD OL' DAYS
Steph's waifu status would go down the toilet if she became bi aka a lesbian.
The only character thay survived or at least sorta survived from a "sexuality change" was Catman and Batwoman because the authors wrote a decent story.
What was the last time Alan scott , Tim or Iceman acted like their usual self?
All your examples are dudes. Meanwhile basically every chick in Gotham is already bi at this point, and in some cases there’s not even any hubbub made about it. Don’t think I’ve ever seen Selina in one of those Pride specials.
Cass showed up in Gotham Knights?
Nah, people just think that because the show version of steph kissed a girl there's a chance comic Steph will too.
what the FRICK happened to the bat family? sheesh is dick still normal?
dick stopped being normal way back when they wrecked his relationship with starfire and then later justified it by turning him into a prostitute. A delicious, tight assed, sexy prostitute just asking for it all the time
I miss the days before pre New 52 anons. Return me to the post crisis.
Me too
Rumor is that comics Steph will follow Gotham Knights Steph.
If this means lesbian or just bisexual, we don’t know yet?
I doubt that, most we'll get is a silent bi confirmation. I don't think they'll hook her up with anyone yet
What rumor? I've barely even seen people talking about this because no one watches the show.
There is no such rumor. The writers of Batgirls had no clue that the writers of Gotham Knights put in a Gotham Academy easter egg in the pilot. This rumor is "I am pulling stuff out of my butt"
When are we going back to main continuity? Wasn't Future State supposed to be temporary? I'm just tired...
The main books aren't in Future state though
You mean all that bullshit that's going on is happening is canon?
TFW Harper NTRs Tim HARD after he’s been gaslit into thinking he’s gay.
I bet Harper makes Steph fun harder
