Imagine you're in your 60s. One day, late at night, the police calls you to inform you that your son had been arrested for attempted murder. You drive to the precinct where you are then told that your son:
    >Has likely committed multiple murders
    >Kept a severed human head in his fridge
    >Kept two human hearts and male genitalia in the freezer
    >Kept 5 more skulls in the bedroom
    >Had polaroids documenting the dismemberments of his victims
    >Kept a complete human skeleton in a drawer
    >Had a 57 gallon vat, filled with acid and three human torsos inside
    >Likely ate some parts of his victims as remains on his cooking utensils indicate

And then after finding out about all of the that, the dad screams "MY SON IS GAY?!?"

Honestly don't know which is worse. All the murder stuff is downstream of the being gay so probably the gay is worse

I don't get it, he clearly had a good relationship with his mother. What went wrong???

At least it has more substance than the Renner movie, where she had only one brief and entirely generic scene.

Heartbreaking scene. His mom was wacko and failed him.

It's really striking how little of a relationship he seemed to have with his mom. If this show is even roughly accurate, after 18 it was his dad that did everything for Jeff, trying his best to save his fricked up, weird son from increasingly bizarre and embarrassing behavior. It stands to reason that his mom kind of ignored him before that too. That's so fricked. I don't think his dad was perfect, but he really seemed to be trying his best to do right by his son, and he still failed miserably, one of the scariest parts of the series for me.

Women “love” in the most fickle way imaginable, but sometimes it’s for a reason. She saw the end game for her freak son. She just opted out faster than the dad. There was never any redemption for Dahmer, he was going to be that way no matter what she did.

No, a mother's love is different. My wife and I have two sons and she would do anything for them. The amount of care and attention that she pours into them is crazy to me. Little things that they probably don't really notice like cutting their sandwiches into shapes for different holidays, writing little notes for their lunches. I'm very involved with them too, but a good mother is on a totally different level. Dahmer's mom was just a fricked up narcissistic b***h. I really felt for his dad, he seemed to try really hard to connect with his fricked up weirdo son, and in interviews with the two of them, it's clear how much Jeff noticed and appreciated his dad's efforts.

            This is so sweet.

My mom is a narcissist. They're fricking dangerous people, and they should be sent to hell.

Watch Nitram, about Martin Bryant. Another mum fricks up her kid and makes him a killer kino.

No she just wasn't a real mother. Wanted her own life instead of wanting to build a family. She should have gotten prison time too

How come whenever someone is raised by their grandmother, no matter what race they are. They will either become weird or a criminal?

Generation gap too big for normal parental relationship
Unless it's one of them weird cases where both mother and grandmother had kids very young

Things have to be pretty fricked up in the first place for a kid to end up living with grandparents instead of parents.
