Honestly, even as someone pretty indifferent to her music, my issue boils down to how this cameo works. It's that kinda zombie Simpsons cameo where the point of the cameo isn't to be witty or have fun with how the celebrity would work in this world, but rather just the writers congratulating themselves for getting said celebrity.

I would love to see Maslany play her again with a better script and doing actual super hero stuff. And I want the cultural pendulum of sex positivity to swing back she they can make her look like this.

Never read a She Hulk comic before. I know John Bryne had all the "breaks the fourth wall" stuff. But honestly? I'd rather have had a generic superhero show where She Hulk fights some bad guys and balances her work-life. I don't hate Tatiana.

      Anonymous

      >balances her work life
Nobody wants this. Frick this. She isn’t Spider-Man. She’d sexy as frick. She shouldn’t be a lawyer she should be flying space shuttles to save truckers and modeling.

        Anonymous

Saying a sexy bimbo can't be a lawyer seems like exactly the motivation she would need to become one given her nature. And she was a lawyer prior to becoming she hulk anyway.

          Anonymous

I didn’t say couldn’t I said wouldn’t. And this is fiction she isn’t real. She should be doing fun shit not wasting our time doing menial procedural shit just because the MCU producers wanted to larp as Allie McBeal or Suits producers.

I know more about Jen then you could tell me homosexual I own most of her appearances. All of the Byrne issues in floppy format alone.

            Anonymous

Why? A sexy woman would still be a lawyer, for a lot of reasons. The least of which being she enjoys her work and has bills. Probably from law school? And I think a legal drama in a cape context is an interesting concept. I'd rather explore the courtroom intrigue of masked vigilantes and trying to prosecute absurd supervillain crimes with a shrewd and sexy female lead instead of a show where some lady goes sky diving or skinny dipping or whatever.

I don't care if you sleep next to a Jen blow up doll, your ideas suuuuuuuuck

Facebook and twitter are popular. McDonalds is popular (though no one seems to admit to eating there ever). The sequel trilogy of Star Wars was popular.

Anyway McDonald's has broad appeal. Twerking has broad appeal.

If it's not aesthetic to you, then that's clearly subjective because you're outnumbered by people who find something hot about it.

Ever been twerked on? It's hot as frick. I think you'd find it more "aesthetic" if you knew what it felt like.

Yeah the series was awful but it was always going to be. Marvel doesn’t understand she-hulk is a female character FOR MEN.

If she doesn’t look like Byrne’s she-hulk it already sucks and this b***h wasn’t even the right shade of green. The actress also was an awful fit for Jen and frankly we’d be better off never seeing Jen. The best was her being struck with radioactivity and not being able to turn back into her human form but not caring.

Twerking is always bad because it's not an aesthetically pleasing motion. It is to dancing what the old samurai topknot or tonsure is too haircuts.

Jeez really because it seems really popular and is considered erotic by a lot of people, especially if you're being twerked on. It's a dance move where women show an active and aggressive sexual side. While also shaking a big ass around. You really think that people find that unpleasing? That's silly.

I don't care for twerking (though leaning on "don't like it" side) but I hate this scene because it's designed to distract attention from how awful the rest of the show is.

I suspect it's completely by design. Make one scene people are guaranteed to be talking about so they could talk less about other shitty parts and give shills (like you can see ITT) an opening to pull "the show was fine, you just got triggered by this scene" damage control.
That's what you get when you hire Rick and Morty writers (Pickle Rick writer is a showrunner lmao) who have no talent and nothing but contempt for capeshit and think they're too clever for it. And have the emotional maturity of 12-year olds to boot.

The standard take from people who actually read the comics is that it was relatively faithful to the vibe of the comics, but made a number of major missteps that killed it with broader audiences.

The standard take from people who didn't read the comics is that it utterly failed to communicate the vibe of the comics to general audiences, and the aforementioned missteps put the nails in the coffin.

Major missteps include, but are by no means limited to:
-Hiring NO ONE who knew how to write legal scenes so they knew what hte frick they were riffing on beyond half remembered parodies written by people who - you'll never guess - actually had legal experience.
    -Shitting on Bruce
-Making numerous things effortless for Jennifer that should have been major character struggles and good fodder for development.
-stuff like the OP pic that maybe works if you're 20, but is just plain uncomfortable for/weird to everyone else. No one sitting down to watch the latest Marvel thing with their family wanted to see frottage.

The sad thing is, a She-Hulk show honestly could've been amazing and hilarious. A procedural courtroom comedy where in one episode Jennifer gets Surtur out of a parking ticket, or proves that Loki couldn't have committed a crime because he was seen in episode three of his Disney+ series at the time and Sylvie can corroborate his story, or represent some minor character like Maya Hansen or Crossbones suing the MCU for ruining/wasting them in their adaptation. And of course, outside of the courts, Jennifer would be a fun, confident character who actually enjoys being She-Hulk and doesn't complain about it the whole time and gets in all sorts of funny, fanservice-y, cheesecake-y situations. But no, of course the head writer of "Pin-up Girl Lawyer Hulk" has to be a fricking sexless troll who doesn't even know how courtroom scenes work, and apparently learning how just was not an option. And Marvel and Disney can't figure out why everyone's been hating the MCU since Endgame. Frick me.

The showrunner literally admitted she doesn't read or likes superhero comics. They just made trash that's subversive for the sake of being subversive and patted themselves on the back for "being clever".
It's neither a comedy nor a superhero show, it's a shitpost/weird psychotherapy session for writers.
