This. I'm not even one of the tards filtered by Samurai Jack final season and Primal final episode kino. I'm just not interested in Unicorn Warriors Eternal's premise.
Bring back Symbionic Titan, I'll roll up for that.
It was entertaining, but after they quickly killed 2 antagonists without giving it a proper development it felt strange. Even more so with that ending where everything in reality was made shit without giving a context of what the monk character's astral plane does when it is corrupted, it almost feels as if those involved in this cartoon wanted to sabotage his work. I just want to believe that the entire development of this story has been carefully planned to be shown over several seasons, and after they end then all this weird plot thing makes better sense.
Objectively inferior to primal, symbiotic titans, Clone wars, and samurai jack in EVERY WAY. How did gennedy shit the bed that hard? Hopefully, It rebuilds his rep with the primal anthology series and a sym bionic titans sequel.
Was not that great, honestly. Artstyle was unique and the story was different, it had a lot going for it, but ultimately the story was just pretty bad.
This is Winston, I knew him for a short time, but if something bad happens to him I will kill them all and then kill myself.
Winston was probably the easiest character to like and root for. Like fricking hell his loyalty for his wife and tenacity in spite of all the wacky shit going on is respectable as frick. Even the fact his reaction to becoming a werewolf wasn't "oh woe is me, I'm a monster", it was "Now I can protect the women I love even easier".
Fricking love this homie like you wouldn't believe. Him and June Way were easily the best characters. If they killed him off as well I would immediately stop watching the show.
it was a mess, but it was a well-made, sincere, interesting, enjoyable mess. I don't think we'll ever see any more of it, but I'm glad we got what we got.
It was good at first, but all of its interesting setups were either solved in 3 seconds, solved offscreen, or not solved at all, leading to a very unsatisfying cliffhanger ending.
Started off interesting, got frustrating as it went on as more and more plot threads got brought up only to be unceremoniously tossed aside. Overall it really lacked direction and had some of the worst pacing in any show by Genndy thus far.
The plot after they killed The fox lady for a joke just became insanely disappointing, it's was mere info. dump without actually showing the "interesting" events that seemingly happened.
Also Genndy has always been a hack, he literally made Hotel Transylvania 3 to be based on a family vacation he had fun memories of.
The fricking popeye faces and rubberhose like motion betrayed the tone so fricking badly sometimes. Im more tolerant than the average person of weird or inappropriately matched art styles but there was a fricking lot to overlook here. If anyone has that gif of Merlin's moronic shocked face that'd be great. You know the one. That's hardly the worst part of the show though. Just awful narrative progression. Implied ideas never coming to fruition, cool characters unceremoniously dropped, the romance aspect was untenably bad. The ending was practically a mindfrick starting when Tiger man and Otto are suddenly dead, Emma gets sent back to normal world after entering spirit world, except she makes it back to spirit world, and then something something the great evil is my mom and now spacetime is all jumbled now, the end. I think Genndy was just stumbling hungover into work during production and handing vague ideas/doodles scrawled onto Pizza Hut napkins to the crew and telling them to make it work.
I feel like the goofy-looking faces weren't usually all that distracting outside of pic related and that one zoom-in on Winston's face after Emma was first possessed during the wedding.
Story was a mess tho. Unicorn easily would've benefited from an actual writers' room (or even an executive producer with professional writing experience) breathing down Genndy's neck and reminding him to make something coherent.
Elements of both plus the seven dwarfs.
I heard in the unicorn threads that genndy actually made a bet with someone that he could get people to take a grim story seriously when it has silly cartoonish artstyle. He wanted to prove it could work because that mourning scene in Snow White where the dwarves are crying garnered criticism or something. That and there's some work by Tezuka that's violent and grim while also looking very cartoonish, and that also got criticism/did poorly commercially.
Even Genndy's core inspiration for telling such a story—seeing his kids grow up into their own people unrecognizable from what he's always known them as—falls flat.
I am fine with artsy styles but here it felt completely disconnected from the content, as if someone just chose to draw the characters like this in the hopes of making it look special. Personally I didn't like any of the characters (closest would be Winston, but the series didn't seem to like him) and up to episode 4 there wasn't a single meaningful dialogue between any of the characters, let alone any chemistry, so I dropped it since the plot itself seemed to be a mess too.
Considering that even the anons that enjoyed the first half say that it fell apart later it was probably for the better.
actually now that I think about it, a story with an existing couple who experience an impediment and try to find each other again (oh no, my beloved fiancee fell through a portal to another world blah blah blah) would be really cool if both of them on this odyssey change, like one being venom'd and one becoming like an avatar or something, and at the end, they're both in the position of having been Tuvix'd into being new people, and these two NEW people who are the combinations of those existing characters with different aspects, then finding out that they still love each other but now differently, like Tom is not just Tom anymore, he's Tomarius, Avatar Of Ancient War God Thragnos, and is fundamentally changed by it, and he's BETTER for it. that would be a cool plot, because it would be a metaphor for how you grow and change in your life and are never the same person you were in your memories
It was so boring. I bought Primal S1 and S2 the moment they were out on Blu-ray but forget buying it, not sure if I would rewatch it again for free, unless S2 has some crazy foreshadowed ending
didnt watch it, probably wont ever
Same. The animation style doesn't vibe with me and learning that the show revolves around a love-triangle turned me off even more.
>love triangle
Adventure time and Regular show's shitty influence ruined the show for me
This. I'm not even one of the tards filtered by Samurai Jack final season and Primal final episode kino. I'm just not interested in Unicorn Warriors Eternal's premise.
Bring back Symbionic Titan, I'll roll up for that.
it was ok. Fell pretty flat for me towards the end but started off strong.
The Fox Lady was interesting frick the show for killing her off
The show had alot of potential but it is wasted
She ain't dead. She'll be back in season 2.
If the shows get a season 2.

too much show not enough tell
It made me realize that it was Craig McCracken who was carrying Gendy all those years ago.
based
He didn't work on SJ or Primal though
I really liked the acid trip scene
Objectively inferior to primal, symbiotic titans, Clone wars, and samurai jack in EVERY WAY. How did gennedy shit the bed that hard? Hopefully, It rebuilds his rep with the primal anthology series and a sym bionic titans sequel.
The dust settled about a week after the show aired, and it settled on Unicorn Warriors Eternal being moronic on pretty much every conceivable level.
Was not that great, honestly. Artstyle was unique and the story was different, it had a lot going for it, but ultimately the story was just pretty bad.
I love Winston. Simple as.
>Two more episodes
The show
it was a mess, but it was a well-made, sincere, interesting, enjoyable mess. I don't think we'll ever see any more of it, but I'm glad we got what we got.
Started strong, but flopped at the end.
It was good, but would've been better if it were made 20 years earlier.
Needed more June Way
Directionless and meandering
The pacing of the first episode was bad, so I didn't finish it.
It was good at first, but all of its interesting setups were either solved in 3 seconds, solved offscreen, or not solved at all, leading to a very unsatisfying cliffhanger ending.

It looked pretty
Story was shit
If it gets a season 2 they need to put Genndy on a leash
So what were the simians meant to represent? Man?
It alright
The plot after they killed The fox lady for a joke just became insanely disappointing, it's was mere info. dump without actually showing the "interesting" events that seemingly happened.

The fricking horror.. unspeakable

was the artstyle meant to be a popeye reference or a tezuka reference?
Elements of both plus the seven dwarfs.

idk probably
When Unicorn?
Style Over Substance.
Even Genndy's core inspiration for telling such a story—seeing his kids grow up into their own people unrecognizable from what he's always known them as—falls flat.
I would like to kiss her
makes one wish to find a way to bring back Sym-Bionic Titan as a series and give it proper closure. Tax Break be fricked.
If it weren't for mouthbreathing dipshit executives led by Snyder, we'd have some closure
This is Winston, I knew him for a short time, but if something bad happens to him I will kill them all and then kill myself.
It was great and anyone who says otherwise is a precious twat.
>precious
Precocious.
Lacks the best Genndy girl so automatically inferior
Meme character
True, but its not going to stop a small group of dedicated autists from constantly forcing Fang into conversations.
you sure?
goofy ass dinosaur
Interesting premise, bad execution (same as every genndy show)

it was moronic
rude
I was moronic
I love the artstyle but it was way too boring, cool characters and setting can only take you so far if literally nothing interesting ever happens
Not enough Foxo
Not enough Schizo Emma
Not NEARLY enough Otto
If there's anything we didn't get enough of, it's Alfie.
we didn't get enough of the werewolf boyfriend, he should have knotted emma
>Emma
Edred, you mean
thruple

Nah, Emma is mine
It was so boring. I bought Primal S1 and S2 the moment they were out on Blu-ray but forget buying it, not sure if I would rewatch it again for free, unless S2 has some crazy foreshadowed ending
Edred and Winston should kiss
