Watched two episodes and that was too much.
what didn't you like about it?
Same.
Ahsoka is completely unlikable. I never watched clone wars so I have no nostalgia for that character. What's left is an aloof pseudo-jedi who gives every other person she meets the stink eye, trying to come off as wise but gets fooled by literally everyone.
I've also heard they butchered Thrawn.
Shit character designed by coomer Lucas and homosexual Filoni to hijack the Skywalker saga.
I recognize this art style lmao, this is the guy who really hates Sabine right?
As is proper.
I'm watching it for the first time and I finally got to the episode with the wolf horses and Thrawn. I honestly can't figure out why this show feels so mid. It's not bad it just feels cold. Also all this shit is in another galaxy? Was that really necessary? I feel like 90% of Star Wars is segregated to 10 planets how about the rest of the galaxy and the incomprehensibly huge unexplored regions?
well think of how long it took the EU to be fleshed out, decades of books and comics. each one was its own little story, and this is no different. the only new thing is that it's shows rather than text.
> I honestly can't figure out why this show feels so mid.
it honestly feels half-assed. really slow, the acting, choreography, and writing are all subpar. it feels like everyone was just there for the check, even Ray Stevenson.
Jesus it's just a children's cartoon lmao
if you really hate the characters and the show you're in luck, a second season doesn't seem likely. if Disney wanted a second season it would've been greenlit halfway through the first one, like with every other project. Looks like we'll never see what Baylan was after or what Thrawn will do once he's back in the galaxy.
Yeah the first two episodes are pretty bad. You can tell that Rosario wants to do her own thing but it comes off like she's doing this weird Shatner impression. Talking slow, long pauses as if every word is the lord's gospel. Folding her arms standoffishly at every opportunity. I like Rosario! I thought she was funny and hot in Haunted Mansion. This shit tho. I don't even know. I want to say it has to be the directors. She starts to warm up after she dies but not much. I also find it funny they keep doing this Gandalf the White shit with her every time she /nearly/ dies.
>Folding her arms standoffishly at every opportunity
I didn't notice this until I watched a compilation and it's funny how it's like her signature move for some reason
I really wanted to like this show because I grew up watching Clone Wars, but finally I decided it just wasn't that good. Too many glaring flaws to be enjoyable. Looks like Disney decided the same since there's no word of a second season.
Can't stand Rebels (and sequels) because of its ''''Mystery Box'''' writing. Don't know if this is Twin Peaks fault or something else.
Vague Malachor dialogue and hints leading nowhere to cryptic callbacks to Clone Wars Mortis crap that goes nowhere.
Star Wars mythology/mysticism drags itself thin and destroys its own audience interest.
>Mortis crap
I'm a bit out of the loop and I keep hearing about this and Abeloth etc, did they really choose a children's cartoon to introduce this stuff? It seems like a pretty foundational concept to Star Wars lore and they bring it up in a Friday night cartoon?
Mortis came up on Clone Wars via Obiwan, Anakin and Ahsoka drug trip in space, metaphors for the Force via Shakespearean Planet.
Interesting thought exercise but Filoni's eternal circlejerk over that arc is unbearable.
Holy fricking based. Frick Feloni and his fanfiction shit. Yes, even TCW. Gendywars is superior.
>hating Lucas and Filoni
>using Disney's episode 9 marketing terms
can't believe there won't be second season. I need closure
that webm looks cool actually
too bad the nigress is a shit actress and ugly and black
Meh.
>we
her big winning move is to steal anakin's lightsaber from his hands while he stands still for 3 seconds?
someone post the webm where she grabs her opponent's wrist to raise their sword and block her own attack
it was alright. fun little space adventure thing. nothing special but nothing to really complain about
It was kino. Lots of cozy adventure vibes. It introduced all that exo-Jedi force lore being set up by the Jedi Fallen Order games and had some nice characters and cute girls
>cute girls
This is about the only reason I watched tbqhwy
It’s a nice change of pace to see attractive (white) people on screen. Btw can anyone say why literally every villain except shin has a British accent and every protagonist except the droid has an American one? Is it foreshadowing that shin will switch sides?
I think by now most people can agree Ahsoka and Filoni were mistakes.
*slits your throat*
what was that? oh right, you can't talk because you're all fricked up.
Never trust a man in a cowboy hat with a gay lisp.
Stevenson was good but underused and obviously is now either going to be forgotten or recast with someone with half the screen presence.
Probably gon’a be recast as his character seems important to the plot
Andor was better than this slop
It’s honestly a 3/10, pretty bad tv show.
The only good thing is actually the set designs and huge care put in the CGI. Anything in space or with spaceships looks great for a tv show.
As for the rest, it’s pretty bad, especially the plot and writing.
For example, I’ll use my biggest gripe: the scene where Ahsoka’s padawan (cant remember her name lel) is lost in another galaxy and FINALLY finds her best friend after years of not being able to locate him.
>This dude has been stranded on an alien planet, far from anything he knows
>For a whole decade
>With only snails people around him
>All alone with snails
>For 10 years
>No pussy around, at some point, during a cold, lonely night, he even considered fricking one of those snails goddamnit
>No one to talk to, might easily go insane
>One day, wokes up
>Sees his lady friend, omg!!
You’d think the guy’s reaction would be joy, mad joy, wonder, astonishment, uh?
Show’s writing
>Hello you
>How’re you doing?
>oh how did u end up here? U dont want to tell, oh ok fine whatev’
>ok now lets ride with the snails dude ok?!
I mean, talk about lack of characterization and total creativity failure…
funny you bring up the reunion scene because I was actually thinking about it recently. I agree, zero chemistry between them and they did a really bad job of portraying two extremely close friends who had been through so much together and hadn't seen each other in a decade (plus Ezra was presumed alive). it felt more like two acquaintances meeting after a week apart lmao. I'm glad it wasn't just me bothered by that scene.
I mean, sabine (that's her name btw) literally doomed the galaxy to another war just for a chance at finding him, and their reunion was so lukewarm after that.
Yeah I was so bothered by this, especially since the episode leading to the reunion scene is the best episode of the entire show. There’s tension, wonder, you’re on a new, hostile planet, Thrawn, sithlords roaming the countryside apparently in search of “a new beginning”… everything seems up for grab!
And then this emotionless void of a scene happens. All the tension ends when you realize nothing’s really at stake. It’s all a whole “get excited for our next cliffhanger/next special guest/next Anakin scene/next show!”
All the set up is used to sell you the next gimmick, not to tell a compelling story. It’s quite saddening really. The absolute state of Disney Wars lmao
I also thought sabine willingly giving up the map was a great moment for her, probably the only time she showed hint of being an actual character with complex motivations. then they ruined it with the absolutely lackluster reunion, what was Filoni thinking
I also think the actress just isn't that good at acting.
>get excited for our next cliffhanger
the best part is this entire show is just part of the setup to Filoni's movie, which might explain why it's such a slog and practically nothing happens.
Sabine’s actress really bad yeah, poor acting. Which sucks since all other actors are great (maybe beside Ahsoka’s actress too, but she isn’t dismal either).
Sabine giving up the map was great yeah, could have been explored as a real internal and personal conflict later on but… that’d have meant interesting, mature writing (ie a big no-no for Filoni)
> the best part is this entire show is just part of the setup to Filoni's movie, which might explain why it's such a slog and practically nothing happens.
Didn’t know he had a movie coming up. Makes sense then.
Haven’t watched IX and won’t ever watch a Disney War movie so I guess I won’t ever know the end of Ahsoka’s adventures but nothing’s lost there
>real internal and personal conflict
she makes a bunch of bad decisions and ultimately shows zero remorse or even reflection lmao, what a terribly written character
I don't think anything has been confirmed yet, but Filoni recently got promoted so he's probably going full steam ahead with his OCs.
plus he's exactly the same after 10 years of solitude? he should've been meditating for all that time and become a Force god or some shit, what exactly was he doing for a fricking decade with absolutely nothing to do?
Mandalorian was good. I think the initial success of Mandalorian caused Disney to think they had struck gold with Star Wars shows and so they approved anything to try and keep the flame going, and we ended up with this, boba fett, kenobi, etc.
Ezra was the lamest and most disappointing way they could have possibly had his time on the planet be.
She didn't show her orange butthole, 0/10.
Felt short but I liked it, also Shin a qt
>tfw we will never EVER seen shin again
I liked the end credits music. That's about it.
Anakins ghost made the Vader comics even more moronic
3.5/10
>only good parts are hayden flashbacks
>based old man(rip) and blondie
>and the gratuitous ass shots of 2 of the women
It's the most 5.5/10 a show can get
Didn’t watch, won’t watch, don’t care.
t. Everyone
Andor > Mando S1 > Mando S2 >>>>> Ahsoka >>>>>> everything else
It was passable and had attractive actors and actresses in it. The master-apprentice duo were the best two characters in the entire show. I thought it had a lot of promise from the first episodes but the ending really fumbled it.
Boring
>Now that the dust has settled, what did we think of it?
Couldn't tell ya'.
Never watched it.
Never will.
Good start,weak finish.
Wasted potential. Show should have focused on Baylen and Shin.
Ashoka was a weak point of the series, and Ezra was absolute miss.
Should have also gone bold and make Shin/Sabine lesbian couple with Shin being dominant.
Thrawn instead of being Alexander the Great/Rommel came out as fat Goering/Trump.
Another Galaxy was very boring and had no exotic features.
agreed with you until the coomer shit, back to tumblr
Star Wars television was a mistake period.
It was impressive that Dave was able to shoot the show with his entire head up his own ass.
