easily Buster Keaton
Buster Keaton
His mix of physical stunts with comedy went farther than the other two, and has held up much better as a result
Keaton, but Chaplin's satire in Modern Times and The Great Dictator will always be toptier
Chaplin. I wish Keaton wasn't so dogshit at cinematography, it can be extremely difficult to tell whats going on at times, something that never seems to be a problem with Chaplin.
Buster Keaton, no discussion.

>He's LITERALLY just like me
Eternally /our guy/
Why does she look like an Asian b***h
chaplin, no competition there.
keaton is just a stuntman.
What a silly question.
Harrold Lloyd of course.
I feared Chaplin when I was child.
Caused by his weird moving and monochrome color.
Moe Howard
people still post webms from Keaton's movies because the clips are genuinely hilarious
the same never happens to Chaplin. Chaplin is also a cheap sentimentalist cynically pulling at heart strings with saccharine melodrama
>cheap sentimentalist cynically pulling at heart strings with saccharine melodrama
This.
Great cinematographer, but he made films for women. Which makes sense if you look up how big of a perverse frickboy he was. It was all about the b***hes for him.
On the other hand, Keaton made films for everyone, and better. And if you look around the best movies today, they all have clear Keaton influence in them, but the world could have really done without Chaplin.
Again, he's good and deserves his place in the pantheon, but not as nearly as revolutionary as Keaton was.
chaplin tried to tug peoples hearts firstly and do funny, easy to do stunts second. overhyped
keaton was innovative and the james cameron of the silent era. went for big, difficult, stunts with payoffs. good if you like ambition
but lloyd was clever. his tricks were simple like chaplin but still wowed you like keaton. the artist of his era
Interesting.
Recommend some Lloyd kinos for this effect, please.
checked, Safety Last is probably the most famous, for good reason its spectacular
Sherlock Jr. is the best film any of them ever made, but the fire truck sequence from the end of Girl Shy is my favourite bit.
Chaplin. Keaton has better and more impressive physical gags. Keaton obviously was doing way more interesting stuff with the medium.

OH N-
is he okay?
Not anymore.
Ehm I think the dust has settled years ago, my guy
Keaton
Chaplin's shlock is what today would be called "oscarbait".
I enjoy rewatching those guys more these days.
But Keaton was the one that aged the best out of those 3 I'd say.
Buster Keaton
Very nice.
That's a fine post you have gotten me into
Based Stan and Ollie poster. Sons of the Desert is the greatest comedy ever made
Chaplin's a great cinematographer and writer but his actual stunts and comedy are rough at best. Keaton and Lloyd's stunts on the other hand are fricking phenomenal and innovative, though I personally find Keaton funnier because he's just a goofy looking creature that looks exactly like the kind of person who'd be stumbling into all of his misfortune in his movies.
Keaton was funnier, but Chaplin was the most talented filmmaker by far
Keaton>Lloyd>Chaplin
