Definitely Ross. Taking a break in a relationship means spending some time apart to make sure of your feelings, take the pressure off to think it through. It doesn't mean 'go bang some chick' and Ross should have known that , and if he didn't know that and thought his behavior was acceptable, then that is proof that the relationship should not continue.
Of course the truth is they swapped the sexes here, women are much more likely to have a fling in this situation.

Depends on your definition of 'a break'. Is it a break where you go off and frick other people, or just one where you overthink your relationship and don't muddy it up with other individuals. But lets be fair, guys are as faithfull as their options are.

this, howewer at least Ross was drunk and had a reason to crash the plane with no survivors, Rachel didn't respect Ross' feelings in the first place and even when she asked for a "break" she still hanged out with Mark who totally din't want to bang her AFTER WORK

Rachel. She expected Ross to wait around with his dick in his hand while she rode the wiener carousel and IF she didn't find anyone better, then maybe she'd get back together with him at some point in the future.

Frick that. Ross was absolutely right to immediately bang some other chick.

Good for the goose, good for the gander.

A lot of people react violently against Friends thread but idk why. It's a very comfy show, and takes place in a decidedly non-woke era. I think if people actually watched it they would find a lot to like. It's not the best 90s sitcom but it is very good, and if you like more 'serious' or 'romantic' moments in a sitcom (compared with Seinfeld with has a complete absence of such things), Friends excels at this.

Show about israelites with cuckolding gays and surrogate pregnancy, where poor people have gigantic apartments as propaganda to convince moronic immigrants they should leave their better lives for slavery.

Rachel knew Ross was insecure about her status as a roastie. She should have assured him that she wouldn't entertain the idea of having sexual relations with Mark. Yet she acted like HE was the butthole for being insecure. She decided to put the relationship on a break without explaining that that would entail. I think Ross made a mistake by fricking that prostitute, but Rachel's insensitive actions was the catalyst that drove him to frick. I give Rachel 75% blame.

In my teen years I was a Chandler enjoyer. In my twenties I graduated to Ross, as I related to his sexless schizo personality. But now I've finally landed on Joey as the most kino friend. People say he's moronic, but he has enough intelligence to gain constant access to hot dinners and hot pussies. Ross and Chandler clown their way though life.

I had the opposite trajectory. As a youth I thought Joey's juvenile antics were the tops; as a sarcastic teen, I identified much more closely with Chanler's ironic nihilism; but when I became a man, I put away childish things, and I see now that Ross was always 'the guy': Ross is tragic, funny, serious, he is quite simply the essential post-modern man. We are all Ross.

Women want all men to be Ross. He has no style, he has no grace. He will degrade himself for a mere sliver of pussy. Men need to become Joey. He fricks and he doesn't care about the feelings of roasties, because he knows of their cruel and manipulative nature. They are only walking receptacles for his cum.

But Joey in the end was deeply dissatisfied with being a player. It is not a lifestyle that can be maintained forever. Joey wants to grow up in the end and be more like the other 'Friends'. Consider the storyline where Joey wants to become Rachel's husband, or the storyline where Joey and Ross are competing for that smoking hot black scientist lady (a competition Ross wins because he is more mature and sophisticated).

            >But Joey in the end was deeply dissatisfied with being a player.
that's only coz they were setting him up for a sequel series. for 6 seasons joey has a solid trajectory - uncomplicated guy relying on wagie friend's charity, fricks lots of bawds, becomes a famous actor and starts repaying his wagie friends in cash/favors.
then suddenly smash cut to him not being happy with his life coz he wants to frick the girl next door - who he literally passed over in season 1 coz she had too many issues.
joey was actually character assassinated by the end of friends.

Joey may long for a lasting relationship, but we all know he would hate taking a wife. Ross and Chandler need a partner in their lives, being weak-willed b***hes, unlike Joey who is like a force of nature.

For me peak Joey was his love affair with the actress, which ended in heartbreak. Joey must suffer.

you know, what's interesting about this, is that nowadays people might unironically argue that ross was raped in that scene where he "cheats" on rachel

i mean he's clearly drunk in that scene and the girl is being very pushy even after he said no. to some woketard, this might constitute rape. i'm actually not sure they'd do a scene like that today.

tbh tons of stuff from Friends would be considered Hitlerian today. Just take for example all the stuff about Chandler's troony parents

Funny thing is chandler actually has a very deep plotline about having trauma from being treated poorly by his troony parent.
impossible storyline by current day standards where trannies are treated like precious snowflakes who can do no wrong despite being deeply mentally disturbed.

Yeah I mean if you watch the scene, and examine the play-by-play, it seems that Rachel is 'correcting' Ross. Ross is interpreting the 'break' as temporary and then Rachel says: "No, I meant a break from us." My reading of the situation would be that Rachel is initiating a break-up.

If you were the one who asked for a break, then you're in the wrong because it looks like you asked for it just to frick someone else. If you didn't ask for it then you're innocent, your partner should have throught of what a break means. You don't take a break from work to keep working, cdo you?
