I actually liked that crazy "47 Ronin" movie with Keanu Reeves. It's not great, but it's a fun fantasy B-movie like Van Helsing or Beastmaster.
2023-specific: Poor Things, Oppenheimer and KOTFM sucked
Oppenheimer was bad and there was literally no reason for it to be shot in 70mm
I completely agree with you. Those movies sucked ass and the lemmings only say they like it because of media hype. So you are disqualified from this thread because now 2 people have the same opinion.
Sloppenheimer is mid
Beau Is Afraid is the best movie of the decade so far
I think that anyone that uses a streaming service is moronic.
Oppenheimer and KOTFM are kino and Cinemaphilecels care more about appearing cool to their board friends than actually talking about films
KOTFM was better than Oppenheimer, but they were both mediocre. The Holdovers and Asteroid City were better than both of them.
>Oppenheimer
>kino
>Oppenheimer and KOTFM are kino
Cool, you agree with most normalgays but this is actually an unpopular opinion thread
You can pick a movie from the 80s or 90s at random and it will be better than any film made in the last 15 years
>any film made in the last 15 years
I get that you're exaggerating, but there have been some legitimately great movies:
>Uncut Gems
>Nocturnal Animals
>The House That Jack Built
>Drive
>The Neon Demon
>Under the Skin
>Red Rocket
>Phantom Thread
>Once Upon a Time in Hollywood
>Sicario
Neon Demon and sicaro are okay. Not better than a random 80/90s movie though. Drive is millennial edgy-safe. Red rocket is fricking stupid and I'm surprised you didn't mention Barbarian in your list since you have such bad taste.
>has a hard on for the fricking 80s and 90s
>tells others they have bad taste
If you were talking about the 50s through the 70s I'd get it but the 80s and 90s were just as sloppified as current cinema
>gets btfo so bad he has to write off all movies from the 80s and 90s to try and make a point
Do milennials really?
I'm not even that anon you massive homosexual, your taste is simply shit but you're dumb enough to think you're enlightened
Go back
This is not a controversial opinion my young zoomer friend.
who has ever disagreed with you about this opinion?
In my opinion: Godzilla King of the Monsters (2019) is not a good movie nor a good Godzilla movie. It has some great scenes but the movie as a whole is just awful. I also completely disagree with the sentiment of calling it a Showa era-like movie.
shin godzilla was boring
>two (fünf)
All the praise that Jenna Ortega has gotten humors me. It's very apparent (to me, anyway) that she's an overrated prostitute, and likely very toxic behind the scenes and in real life. She is fortunate that she is semi-attractive because that's the only reason why she is a draw.
The Marvels was an underrated movie with a lot of quality aspects. The CGI was pretty darn good and the acting was top tier especially for the MCU. The actress for Ms. Marvel was great and I hope she has a acting career going forward. The stinger at the end of the movie opens up a lot of new ground for where the MCU could moving forward. I could go on, but you get the point.
If the film had actual marketing, the movie would have made plenty of money. I know that the MCU will recover moving forward.
celebrities aren't attractive
you just think they are because they're famous
This isn't a 10/10?
She has a monobrow and a moustache
Boomers really creamed their sheets over this?
99% of films are utter dogshit, no matter the era they were made in.
Invaders From Mars remake is a pretty fun movie and don’t know why so many people have such hatred for it.
Total dogshit
Controversial for Cinemaphile?
>Movies aren't actually that bad right now. Capeshit and starshit are really bad but a bunch of kino has come out this year
>Scavengers Reign is extremely good and the best show of the year. It cannot be discussed on here due to black characters
>Miyazaki is the best living director except for maybe Coppola and Ridley Scott but both of them have made a lot of shit lately
>They Cloned Tyrone is kino, nobody on here has even seen it
>The first 2-3 seasons of Rick and Morty are funny and have many good and well-written jokes
>Peter Griffin has a point about The Godfather. 2 is better
>James Cameron is a hack fraud
>RLM are mega hack frauds with no taste
>CriticalDrinker is a giga hack fraud with even less taste
>Armond White is a troll who doesn't actually believe all the stuff he writes, this actually makes him even more based
>Tariq Nasneed is unironically more right than he is wrong
>Master and Commander is overrated by Cinemaphile, it's pretty good overall however
>Drive is actually underrated by modern Cinemaphile because the current users are hyperpoliticized and can't get past the Mexican guy
gays reproduce by molesting young boys
I disagree completely with the people who says that TLJ killed star wars.
It had a lot of bullshits, but also a lot of great moments and concepts.
The two true stinkers for me are by far The Shit Awakened and the Shart of Skywalker, those two destroyed SW completely.
series suck and are a goyslop waste of time in comparrison to movies. i watched 600 movies in the last 1,5 years but only 2series. breaking bad, xo, kitty (to impress a female) Series are just boring fillings stretched
