January with Lazarus Planet. Since then a bunch of new titles launched with the Dawn of DC branding.

Define successful. I have no clue how the sales have been doing, but I haven't heard anything that indicates it's been selling better that a few months ago. Content wise, it's ok. There's still an overreliance on Batbooks (though I guess that's never going to change) but they're taking a chance on some B-listers so I guess it's not all bad. On a personal note, I'm following more DC books than I have in years, but I wouldn't say I'm jumping to read many of them.

I've jumped onto several when previously I was barely reading any. Most of the new books I've read, I like. Didn't touch Tom King's Wonder Woman, but I really like Superman, Doom Patrol, Green Lantern might be a little too early to judge and I wish they had let Jeremy Adams stay on Flash. I think that will be the only major downgrade, but I'll give the new Flash run a chance too.

No. Pretty much all of the problems of them Bendis/Portland Gang era remain. Until everything Bendis, KSD and GWW did is undone nothing matters.

      >following
How about paying for? Exactly how many a month do you pay for?

I thought it was already out. The info that's out about it now sounds bad so I already decided not to read it. I'm kind of interested in his Penguin series though. I'm already reading a lot of books so I don't know if I'll try it.

    It's mostly shit.
DC editorial has made it their business for years to drive away all but the most awful writers.
And for some moronic reason they decided to completely kill what little momentum it has with Knight Terrors.

I've been liking it so far, but Knight Terrors is right around the corner ready to frick it all up.

I'm looking forward to Knight Terrors because I like horror art and I think it'll be fun. But it's true that a lot of stories are getting interrupted for this.

I think that it started slow, but it's built up a fair amount of good will. Nowhere close to Rebirth, but people seem a lot happier.

Knight Terrors is a practical necessity, trying to get all the titles on the same page, since Dark Crisis and the piecemeal launch of Dawn of DC means that they are all very messy right now. Knight Terrors is supposed to let all the writers get together and coordinate again.

I can see that. I get why people hate another event interrupting the ongoings, but I do think it will be a good event, and I like that they're trying to make the universe more cohesive.

No one likes it when their book is interrupted by an event. Less so when it is only three issues in.
Knightmares is going to kill so many books.

I at least appreciate Green Lantern's second issue leading directly into Knight Terrors, rather than just a totally new story taking over for two months.

It's just a new publishing initiative they've been doing this year, trying to create a bunch of new jumping on points for various characters and trying to make the non-Batman characters matter again.

Dick beat back the darkness in Dark COIE and blasted hope out across the DCU and now things are supposed to be better again.
Now DC has focused on the Titans as a marquee franchise (3 books this year, plus Cyborg and Nightwing) and set a bunch of staggered relaunches for GL, WW, Flash, etc.

The fact that they went with the Titans instead of actually making new teams shows what little they’re taking.

No. DC needs to be completely ripped apart and pieced back together from the ground up to fix this company and make people care about the characters again, there's only so much Batman can do to carry this zombie on his back

I really liked the first arc of Joshua Williamson's Superman. Green Lantern just started but I loved Jeremy Adams run on Flash so I'm excited to see where it goes, and the Doom Patrol miniseries they're doing is very funny and I'm loving picking up each issue.

          NTA but…
I like Nightwing. It predates Dawn of DC but the art team is doing fun things. Plot is dragging. I’m liking Cyborg and Green Lantern. They’re both only a few issues in, but so far so good. Poison Ivy is a year in and it’s good.

It feels like it's just starting out. Superman and Doom Patrol are alright, but that's about it for me. I'm still hoping against hope that the Green Arrow book starts getting better and I guess thanks to Knight Terrors I have to wait until september to see if I drop GL or not since thanks to the event it's been two issues of nothing.
Not looking forward to Hawkgirl being relegated to a troonybook, I'll still read issue one since the Hawks are some of my favotire DC chars but I'm already ready to drop it.
I'm still missing someone on the mystic side (no I will not read the Batgirl book cosplaying as magic) but not having books is still better than being relegated to Justice League fricking Dark.

    ehhhhhhhhh

I think the mission statement of trying to do some more fun books is alright. But its really just laying the tracks on as we go and seeing what sticks.

Like its still early but Adams GL / Waid Shazam are fun. Excited for more Williamson Superman.

Other books have been eh. But Thats fine. I rather DC throw a bunch of stuff at the wall and see what sticks.

I do think suspending the books for two months for Knightmares makes no sense when were so early in so many books. Tom Taylor Titans is meant to lead the plot and its nothing. King Wonder Women will be one of the worst books of all time.

I'm not to positive but I think DC is in a better place then it was a year ago.

Of course New 52 was way more successful. It probably had a better lineup of books but it had 52 fricking titles. The problem is we've spent the last 12 years trying to fix the bullshit that started from having a reboot with 0 planning.

    It is a worse Rebirth.
Trying to appease old fans but refusing to fix the issues caused by the Future State era and before.

Some new series (GL, Doom Patrol, Superman ,...) are selling well enough and giving enough diversity to the batsea of titles.
I see both marvel(big non spiderman heroes having decent solos) and DC (having more big titles that aren't batman) are doing alright.

Superman and action have existed for 80 years why call them new? GL had some stinkers but always has a solo. Neither is analogous to Doom Patrol in terms of diversifying their line up

I have already avoided everything Superman related, it’s going line wide now. Piracy is free, my pull list is for comics worth buying.
