Okay the short version is like this.
There's this rich family in Monaco. They have a son and three daughters. The son gets in some weird shit and turns himself into a vampire. Eldest daughter's all LOL homosexual and he uses his magic to turn her into Penance here. The two youngest daughters, twins, are like well crap, she was the favorite and they FUSION HAH into the M we see at the start of Gen X. Except one of them is super autistic so M would occasionally just black out when she was in the mental drivers seat. Anyways stuff happens. Real M gets released and then the twins take over Penance for a bit. They eventually get freed and the penance body sort of gets it own will. I think it showed up in Avengers Academy a bit.
