HOW ABOUT YOU MAKE A GOOD SHOW NOT A FRICKING FAMILY GUY/RICK AND MORTY COPY THAT NON FANS WILL GET BORED OF AFTER A SEASON OR TWO. STOP SHUNNING OLD FANS
Dogshit is better than the prequels. its a low bar, and i like the prequels. Dreck is just zoomer pickle trek and cringe inducing for the wrong reasons
>got so btfo in Cinemaphile he makes a cope thread and replies to himself
lmao
/co/is full of braindead coomers just like Cinemaphile is today. the only reason they watch this
Both are shit. But of the three episodes I've seen at least the plots of Family Guy in space make sense and rarely destroy canon/lore.
With studios releasing garbage every month that ruin franchises. It's hard to see just how bad the prequels were. Especially if you didn't fall in love with the characters through much more well written side stories and games.
lower decks is great!! and have you tried strange new worlds, it's the best trek in 30 years and as good as tng!!! le heckin updoots for everyone!!!!!!
In all honesty I haven't even tried watching the cartoon, and these are big reasons. I can already predict what the show will be like, I've seen ads and know what kind of goody safe humor it has, I already know the politics that are inevitably going to get shoved in. It's just slop, I know I'll get absolutely nothing out of watching it.
An actual quote from showrunner: >Mike McMahan: I don't think anybody wants to watch made-to-order TV. That's why we're fighting AI. It should be what I feel we need, and what the actors have brought to the table.
> "Nobody wants to watch made-to-order TV" > 99% of all modern film and television, including Lower Dicks, follows standard plot formulas and relies past nostalgia and self-referential humor for its success.
Is there anyone left with a modicum of actual talent in Hollywood? Seems like every show and movie has horrific writing and is full of garbage CGI or shit-tier Western animation. They need to hire a team of people to tell them they're shit and hire some actual talent again.
Computer, generate a season of a new startrek series, consisting of 24 forty minute episodes, set in a slightly post Voyager time frame, using the style and designs of the TNG/DS9/VOY period. Make the main bridge crew consist of 6 straight white men of varying age groups and backgrounds, one black man who doesn't overstep his place, and 3 females; one shy but smoking hot asain that only wears skants, one conventionally attractive white woman, and one sexy tomboy that's open to sexually experimenting with other women. make the stories episodic and generally light hearted and fun, with a 2 parter season finalle. disengage safety protocols. >WGA members commit suicide
the computer is reproducing what people feed it, put cal-arts crap and it would vomit cal-arts crap, its not like an AI can actually come up with something new, its the same crap over and over again, if cant understand that you are a fricking idiot.
people reproduce what they're fed too. calarts is being fed to art students because its cheap and easy to teach. also how tons of art students don't actually want to learn anything.
>make unfunny cartoon >no action >no struggle >basically every problem get solved by strong black female >your show is garbage and is dying
Who couldve foreseen this?
also > "hey guys! remember that thing from that one random episode of TNG? look how quirky it is in our cartoon!" > cue reddit r startrek thread "O MAN YOU GUYS I WAS WATCHING TNG FOR THE FIRST TIME AND DID YOU KNOW PEANUT HAMPER WAS IN AN EPISODE????"
> be an adult man who watches star trek > people just think you're kind of geeky > be an adult man that watches cartoons > people want you to stay at least 500 ft from a school and conflate you to a weird adult MLP fan.

In a nostalgic sense of occasionally turning it on when it happens to be on TV and reminiscing for a few minutes about how funny it was when you were a kid, sure.
But a grown man watching new episodes of Tom and Jerry, buying the Tom and Jerry merchandise, and participating in online Tom and Jerry fandom would be a little strange.

Orville is unironically more interesting than any Trek produced for... a long time. >this guy lives subjectively
kek why
Based. I don't give a frick about homosexual nuTrek, or cartoons that rely on nostalgia for the real Star Trek, before the prequels and reboots ruined everything.
I'm watching every episode still, but it's uninspired memberberries.
Should be canceled.
Paramount should pick up The Orville and give it a few more seasons, it's the only thing in the last two decades even remotely resembling Star Trek.
Not the anon you replied to but I agree it's not great because they try to make it a comedy first and Seth is not a good stage actor at all, but it feels more like star trek than anything else in a decade. Don't want more of it really but the fact that this is true shows you how out of touch the actual star trek creators are.
If you remove all self-referential humor in Lower Decks, you're left with another formulaic, cookie-cutter adult animation show. The animation style is by design simple and cheap to computer generate, and wasn't chosen to serve any aesthetic purpose.
I honestly enjoyed the first season but I couldn't even be bothered to start the 2nd season. Then I saw clips from it, and I'm glad I could never worked up the motivation.
nuTrek is trash and if you disagree you either fit one of these criteria:
A) vote Democrap / lefty in Western society in current year
B) under the age of 22
C) mentally ill
D) poor taste
E) all of the above
Inceldom is a self fulfilling prophecy. The inability to smash breeds resentment which translates into a vibe women find repulsive then the cycle continues. It’s one thing to have alternative values but when you’re overtly dismissive of half the population because you disagree no one in their right mind is going to take you seriously. Demonrats and republitards
i am dismissive of 80% of the population because i have observed enough human behavior to know that they are imbeciles. the other 20% is 99% men. that leaves .002% of the population who are women worth considering and all of them are too good for me. so i dismiss all women for the sake of simplicity.
Last week, CG spammed the Cinemaphile Lower Decks thread, and had 150 posts deleted. Thread was a sea of red strike thrus. He still didn't take the hint.
I've believed since day one that these ardent nuTrek fans in /stg/ threads are just a very vocal but very small minority of samegayging redditor trannies.
streaming is here to stay but i do think they will go back to funding production with advertisment instead of subscribers. its ironic but quality is much better with ford, coke, and P&G in the room demanding they dont do anything to turn off consumers.
the coup happened long ago and pretty much every western corporation would rather eat the loss than keep their mouth shut about unpopular social causes
Profit isn't the motive anymore
>the coup happened long ago and pretty much every western corporation would rather eat the loss than keep their mouth shut about unpopular social causes >Profit isn't the motive anymore
No anon. You are going in the wrong direction in terms of your thinking.
Profit is always the motive.
It's just that the people paying for production, giving out loans, or investing in shows have social causes they care about. Like a Bank or Company won't invest in a TV production unless it is "diverse". So all companies have to pay lip service to diversity just to get funding.
If a Billionaire is willing to fund your movie on the condition you have 50% of the cast be people of color, then you are gonna do what you gotta do to get that funding.
Profit is the motive. The path to profit just stopped being mass appeal. Mass appeal as a path to profit is an exception to the historical rule, where if you want to get rich off being creative, you have to appeal to the rich.
This, and they need to be third party companies. The only reason Netflix stays profitable is because of their huge catalogue of foreign content they market elsewhere that costs pennies on the dollar to license compared to American sitcoms. Hulu only worked at the beginning because it had a free tier with ads and had shows from all the major networks. Nobody wants to feel like they're just paying for a channel in a cable package when they could have just stuck with cable to begin with.
I mean the show clearly does have fans, otherwise it wouldn't be on season 4.
Regardless of what /misc/ would like you to believe, companies don't give a shit about ideologies, they only care about what makes them the most money.
That's my point.
Paramount is perfectly happy to cut a show if it doesn't get the numbers, which is why Prodigy is no longer on Paramount+, yet Lower Decks is already on S4.
If that's the case, why haven't they just pulled it from P+ like they did with Prodigy?
Only 20 episodes of Prodigy were released and it got axed from the service before the 40 episode commit.

Who says they won’t?
Prodigy was fricked from the beginning. They aired the first half of the season in two 5 episode batches with a one month break in between, and the show didn’t air on Nickelodeon for like a year.

PRO had a deal for a 10 episode S01. Paramount+ was so happy with the first episode when it was released, they gave the show an immediate commit for an additional 10 episodes in S01, and a 20 episode S02.

The initial reports of the week of the PRO premier was somewhat confused, because most reporters thought it was an immediate renewal for another 10 episode S02. Took a few weeks until the smoke cleared and it was confirmed the renewal was for a 20 episode S02 and an upsided of 10 more episodes in S01.

>That's my point. >Paramount is perfectly happy to cut a show if it doesn't get the numbers, which is why Prodigy is no longer on Paramount+, yet Lower Decks is already on S4.
Prodigy is more expensive to produce than Lower Decks. CGI is more expensive to make than Cartoons.
Prodigy needed to pull much higher views and subscribers on P+ than Lower Decks to justify its existence. Prodigy didn't achieve that. So it was pulled.
Anon. You have brain damage. Stop arguing with people about whether or not they exist dumbass. Maybe people invested enough to see the first two seasons have no reason to watch something on YouTube they’re already paying to get with p+. Maybe you’re dumb as a rock

Its been explained to you a number of times, a number of ways, that streaming has no real incentive to pull a real audience, but streaming has huge incentive to pretend to have pulled an audience. Thus, astroturf.
putting pickletrek on youtube is proving, conclusively, that no one would willingly watch that shit, even for free (even though over 90% of paramount+ subscriptions were given away, for free), thus is pretty strong evidence that even people with their free subscriptions aren't watching it.
but you, being some brand of mentally ill moron (thanks again for showing me that link), can't understand that being a mentally ill moron who sucks up every pile of shit with a combadge on it, makes you an extreme outlier, thus not a significant market force.

That's not how it works. These shows usually get a multiple seasons (or a large batch of episodes) pre-approved before it goes into production. Same thing happened with Prodigy. It got pre-approved for a certain amount of episodes.
If Paramount initially approved 45 episodes, then the creators can divide that episode count into 4 seasons.
The reason the Ld creators are worried is because now Lower Decks is probably coming up for renewal, and they want Paramount to pay for another Batch of episodes. And they aren't sure Paramount will do it again.
>Same thing happened with Prodigy.
It's already been discussed earlier, but Prodigy was removed from P+ before all the ordered episodes were released.
Which just shows Paramount would have no problems about doing the same thing with Lower Decks.
The funny thing about these contracts is that Paramount promises to fund crating the show, but Paramount make no promises they will actually air the show on any of their platforms or networks. That's how they keep the show creators obedient.
>Paramount has no other revenue streams
It still has everything else Viacom and CBS own, which is quite a bit. What'll end up happening is the streaming service will go under and they'll just continue licensing shows out to third party services like Netflix the same way everybody else did before 2013.
Anonymous
in the sense media is the only source of revenue for viacom/paramount/cbs. disney may only have parks/cruiselines in addition to media, who's success is entirely dependent upon media, but at least that is something more than being entirely dependent upon the success of media. then WB is now just a skinsuit discovery network wears, and discovery network focuses on reality TV, which is still intensely profitable. All the rest are owned by other companies, diversified, etc.
Anonymous
Oh yeah, that's true. My contention is more that they have enough legacy properties and channels (including MTV, per your reality TV example) for them to weather this by cutting losses and licensing shows to more successful streamers. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if Amazon takes a crack at licensing the whole catalogue just so they can stop dropping billions on shit like Tolkien rights.

>read anon's post >surely he's exaggerating >actually look up tonight's MTV schedule
O i am laffin. That kind of plays into my point, though, the only other thing on the lineup for the next 24 hours is Catfished. Those shows probably cost about fifty cents to produce, so any revenue they can generate from that is pure profit, even when it's licensed to others.
Phony actually said, back when Lower Decks started, that the first season was cancelled during production and would never even air. He just refuses to acknowledge Reality, which is true madness.
>On a random Sunday. Not even a show day
Wow! What if I told that you that before S3, it had a thread everyday? There was once a permanent Cinemaphile Star Trek general.
Those people are gone now.
they dont hire people directly. they hire advertising firms that hire consultants that hire poos and chinks to blast messages on repeat around the net. you probably want to work for the consultants who write the scripts
I've been saying that about Cinemaphile for years but no one ever listens
We all know; when the based war baby and boomer israelites either retired or were forced out after the 2008 writers' strike, it left a void filled in by cringey Gen X and millennial nepo hire israelites.
Old writers based their work around their lives, fighting in WW2, and their experience in other forms of media.
New writers base their work around what their Twitter feed shows.
>that's not true, they got the youtube release 50k views per episode
There are amateur youtube channels that get more views than that without even trying. Come on now.
Nu shit is just Nu people picking through the dead remains of old franchise because they can't write anything New. So the term Nu is a non-ironic insult.
... oh right, just like all the other stuff they deleted. so what's happening is apple is paying for exclusivity and the difference between what apple pays and the "value" of the show is written off.
S2 is in the can. When Paramount+ closes shop, whoever acquires Star Trek will be able to put it up on their streaming service.
And make no mistake: Paramount will be sold.
The only people with the money to do it would be bigass tech companies like Apple and Amazon, anyway, and they'd have antitrust lawsuits to worry about then.
there's about 30 companies on the fortune 500 list that could do it. they just won't, because they saw AT&T drop WB ASAP and how it almost killed discovery to pick it up after.
>LDgays attempting to shift the conversation on Prodigy
Reminder that they celebrated its cancellation because a kids show made their adult cartoon look bad.
I was there on Cinemaphile and on Cinemaphile when A Moral Star, Part II aired, and when Supernova, Part II aired. Those two episodes just solidly btfo Pickle Trek so bad that I do believe it drove Lezzies (more) insane.
>commission like 20 different shows at the same time with their own writers, producers, set design, sound mix, actors, etc... >only 10 episodes per season each >keep throwing shit at the wall til it sticks, because each one is only designed to appeal to a specific niche audience >wtf this model is no longer economically viable, time to cut a bunch of these
Why will streaming ever learn?
I've noticed that almost every Trek thread on this board is flooded with Discord trannies who obsess over this shitty cartoon. I guess it shouldn't be surprising given the roots of Trek's fanbase going back to the 60s, but a show that deliberately tries to be thoughtful really doesn't deserve to have a fanbase consisting entirely of troons and guys who look like Chuck Wendig who post about Drumpf on Twitter all day.
its dead, they might do one more season depending on the delivery timeline but its unlikely. since they are ending Discovery at Season 5 and potentially ending Strange New worlds after this season. Legacy will never happen or be used as a series reboot. they need to find a way to make up for the entire federation getting deleted by a space baby crying 700 years in the future.
I’ve never seen the cartoon or defended it. I’ve defended peoples right to talk about it without you threatening them and screaming like a literal moron

No, I get it, completely. You're a moron, therefore can't comprehend a distinction between intellectual awareness, in the moment reactions, and felt emotions. Because you don't have the cognitive capacity to do so. You are exactly what you are at a given moment and there is nothing else to you.
Non-morons are able to differentiate between being aware of danger, startled, and panicked. For example, working under a jacked up car, you're aware it could fall. Then you hear a noise you didn't expect, so you're started. then you move slightly wrong and part of the undercarriage touches your chest, and for a moment you're panicked.

using your car analogy, this program (the car) is not propped up by a pristine jack but by a jenga cube of assorted scrap metal
a passerby (the audience) tells the guy underneath the car that it's not stable and will fall if he doesn't use a jack
he ignores them
another passerby does the same
he ignores them too
at some point the best outcome for all is that the car falls and crushes him so that others learn not to be as stubborn and moronic as he was

>real fans
real trek fans abandoned this shit, that's the point
well no shit, people enjoy good looking people going on fun adventures, not this selfinsertet sarcastic garbage lonely college grads think relationships would work
Once it's gone, we'll likely never hear about it again. There won't be shilling, and we know there aren't any fans. Gone and forgotten sooner than later. Rest in shit.
Star Trek is gonna go in the Vault. It will never be a billion dollar franchise or a big mover. It's basically the grateful Dead of TV. Just make TNG/DSN/Voyager with a 500k per episode budget forever and most people would be Happy
>it will never be a billion dollar franchise
It already has been, anon, otherwise they wouldn't keep going back to it. The longest we've gone without new Star Trek of some sort being produced was the period between TAS and TMP.
>extra marvelquips
I disagree. >cartoon crossover
Good episode >musical
Meh, I thought it was bold to put in that early on but it didn't offend me to the point where it made me forget about Under The Cloak Of War or Tomorrow And Tomorrow And Tomorrow.
star trek is the only big franchise I couldn't get into >you have to watch the first movie but it sucks! >actually, you have to watch milion seasons of this super old tv show!
some shit for turbo nerds
HOW ABOUT YOU MAKE A GOOD SHOW NOT A FRICKING FAMILY GUY/RICK AND MORTY COPY THAT NON FANS WILL GET BORED OF AFTER A SEASON OR TWO. STOP SHUNNING OLD FANS
They refuse to hire non troony writers
>NOT A FRICKING FAMILY GUY/RICK AND MORTY COPY
Funny cartoon must be these two meme shows I hate huehue
Is the exact same animation style, don't kid yourself 1/10 got me to reply
All anime looks the same, I don't weebs getting their panties in a bunch over it
>All anime looks the same
... no, it doesn't.
Even if it did, it doesn’t matter. Anime looks objectively better then CalArts slop.
It's even worse than CalArts, it's C*nadian. The dumpster for all shitty cartoons.
It really does.
saying all anime looks alike is akin to saying all live action looks alike
ok
moetroony

Watch that anti-semitism, chud
lower decks is better than the prequels - mike stoklasa
>Star Trek memberberries good
>Star Wars memberberries bad
LDhaters never recovered from this kek
Dogshit is better than the prequels. its a low bar, and i like the prequels. Dreck is just zoomer pickle trek and cringe inducing for the wrong reasons
Especially if you didn't fall in love with the characters through much more well written side stories and games.
lmao guess trying to shame all the "geezers" into watching your slop doesn't really work out huh
lower decks is great!! and have you tried strange new worlds, it's the best trek in 30 years and as good as tng!!! le heckin updoots for everyone!!!!!!
>that godawful rick&morty/calarts hybrid artstyle
Western Animation is creatively bankrupt.
Eastern too
In all honesty I haven't even tried watching the cartoon, and these are big reasons. I can already predict what the show will be like, I've seen ads and know what kind of goody safe humor it has, I already know the politics that are inevitably going to get shoved in. It's just slop, I know I'll get absolutely nothing out of watching it.
>In all honesty I haven't even tried watching the cartoon
Watching is the easy part. Listening to it is a fricking torture.
Didn't even know Prodigy aired.
nobody did, actually
and that's a good thing
It's literally a nickelodeon kids show but Cinemaphile trannies act like it's TNG tier
>RAAAACISSTS
yes
Why does he look like this?
His grandfather was a potato.
He’s a pakled.
He just needs to shave his head and lose maybe ten to 20 lb. Then he will look just fine. Jesus you people are such dicks to this man.
>trek & morty
oh god why
>mrw nu trek died
I'll drink to that.
An actual quote from showrunner:
>Mike McMahan: I don't think anybody wants to watch made-to-order TV. That's why we're fighting AI. It should be what I feel we need, and what the actors have brought to the table.
> "Nobody wants to watch made-to-order TV"
> 99% of all modern film and television, including Lower Dicks, follows standard plot formulas and relies past nostalgia and self-referential humor for its success.
its funny because he believes his show isnt the problem.
Is there anyone left with a modicum of actual talent in Hollywood? Seems like every show and movie has horrific writing and is full of garbage CGI or shit-tier Western animation. They need to hire a team of people to tell them they're shit and hire some actual talent again.
He's not wrong.
>Weird looking earlobe
>eyes aren't a circle
>Bizarre lighting
one day ai will over come this. But until it does shit like this will always bother me
the computer is reproducing what people feed it, put cal-arts crap and it would vomit cal-arts crap, its not like an AI can actually come up with something new, its the same crap over and over again, if cant understand that you are a fricking idiot.
people reproduce what they're fed too. calarts is being fed to art students because its cheap and easy to teach. also how tons of art students don't actually want to learn anything.
kill it all
and then bring back murf
Oh no, LOWtranssisters! We need to help our show!
For Alex Kurtzman!
For Mike McMahan!
For Jessie Gender!
Is that hmofa I see? wtf I love lower decks now.
But why is it labeled queer?
>make unfunny cartoon
>no action
>no struggle
>basically every problem get solved by strong black female
>your show is garbage and is dying
Who couldve foreseen this?
curiously the current season has the black female seperated from the main group and in the B plot most of the time.
also

I disagree, adults that enjoy cartoons are insufferable.

In the court of public opinion, I win, you lose.
tom & jerry are socially acceptable tho
In a nostalgic sense of occasionally turning it on when it happens to be on TV and reminiscing for a few minutes about how funny it was when you were a kid, sure.
But a grown man watching new episodes of Tom and Jerry, buying the Tom and Jerry merchandise, and participating in online Tom and Jerry fandom would be a little strange.
Orville is unironically more interesting than any Trek produced for... a long time.
>this guy lives subjectively
kek why
Based. I don't give a frick about homosexual nuTrek, or cartoons that rely on nostalgia for the real Star Trek, before the prequels and reboots ruined everything.
orvil > lower decks >>> startrek slope >>> old star trek slop
>MC is dyke.
>I don't watch it.
It's really that simple.
>he would rather see a man kissing someone in his forced television relationships
Confirmed for gay
I'd rather watch TMP and TFF until the heat death of the universe, than ever watch nuTrek goyslop.
But TMP is legitimately awesome. And I love TFF (despite its flaws).
I agree. I'm saying that even the so-called 'bad ones' are better than the modern slop.
I'm watching every episode still, but it's uninspired memberberries.
Should be canceled.
Paramount should pick up The Orville and give it a few more seasons, it's the only thing in the last two decades even remotely resembling Star Trek.
orville is very very bad. stop it.
>BUY MY MIXTAPE UHM I MEAN BLURAY
I just left /trek/ few months ago because the instant homosexualry was just tiresome. Is the nutrek pizza pedo still around?

Nope.
they really have lost touch with their userbase if they think trekkies have friends
nuTrek is trash and if you disagree you either fit one of these criteria:
A) vote Democrap / lefty in Western society in current year
B) under the age of 22
C) mentally ill
D) poor taste
E) all of the above
C and D
>Democrap
Why do incels rely so hard on boomer memes? Cringe
This is cope. You’re one of the imbeciles. You can relax
old trek was also bad
>got so btfo in Cinemaphile he makes a cope thread and replies to himself
lmao
Last week, CG spammed the Cinemaphile Lower Decks thread, and had 150 posts deleted. Thread was a sea of red strike thrus. He still didn't take the hint.
If there were actually fans of any of these shows there would be no need for an appeal.
The streaming circus is dying, but not quick enough.
I've believed since day one that these ardent nuTrek fans in /stg/ threads are just a very vocal but very small minority of samegayging redditor trannies.
Funny how they were only able to take over a literal dead board.
>dying, but not quick enough
which is actually good,

I'm thinking /trek/ is back.
streaming is here to stay but i do think they will go back to funding production with advertisment instead of subscribers. its ironic but quality is much better with ford, coke, and P&G in the room demanding they dont do anything to turn off consumers.
the coup happened long ago and pretty much every western corporation would rather eat the loss than keep their mouth shut about unpopular social causes
Profit isn't the motive anymore
>the coup happened long ago and pretty much every western corporation would rather eat the loss than keep their mouth shut about unpopular social causes
>Profit isn't the motive anymore
Mass appeal as a path to profit is an exception to the historical rule, where if you want to get rich off being creative, you have to appeal to the rich.
if it were just 3 big stream services like early tv used to be, then it wouldnt be this bad.
Regardless of what /misc/ would like you to believe, companies don't give a shit about ideologies, they only care about what makes them the most money.
>otherwise it wouldn't be on season 4
Tell that to Discovery.
Even that shitshow had fans tbh, they usually just cordon themselves off in their own forums to avoid people talking shit.
>it wouldn't be on season 4
try watching Prodigy then
That's my point.
Paramount is perfectly happy to cut a show if it doesn't get the numbers, which is why Prodigy is no longer on Paramount+, yet Lower Decks is already on S4.
Prodigy got a 40 episode commit right out of the gate. This likely did too, but they pretended they’re renewing it every year.
If you check SAG-AFTRA’s contract directory, you can see it got signed on for 4 years back in 2020.
plausible
If that's the case, why haven't they just pulled it from P+ like they did with Prodigy?
Only 20 episodes of Prodigy were released and it got axed from the service before the 40 episode commit.
>If that's the case, why haven't they just pulled it from P+ like they did with Prodigy?
Who says they won’t?
Prodigy was fricked from the beginning. They aired the first half of the season in two 5 episode batches with a one month break in between, and the show didn’t air on Nickelodeon for like a year.
>Prodigy got a 40 episode commit right out of the gate. This likely did too, but they pretended they’re renewing it every year!!!
"Everything gets a 40 episode 4 season commit right out of the gate, and they're also all cancelled! I know what I'm talking about! Listen to me!"
>Prodigy got a 40 episode commit right out of the gate
https://trekmovie.com/2022/04/19/kate-mulgrew-and-star-trek-prodigy-producers-tease-more-chakotay-and-a-metamurfosis/
"See! SEE! Ahahaha!"
PRO had a deal for a 10 episode S01. Paramount+ was so happy with the first episode when it was released, they gave the show an immediate commit for an additional 10 episodes in S01, and a 20 episode S02.
This is your confirmation bias -- and your absolute refusal to recognize Reality, rebounding on you once again.
>If I write a fanfic about the workings of a media company it means it’s real
No streaming company ever orders just 10 episodes of something, unless it’s a limited series, It’s not money or time efficient.
But you already knew that. Don’t be ridiculous. No one’s buying it.
>No streaming company ever orders just 10 episodes of something, unless it’s a limited series, It’s not money or time efficient!!! *mashes forehead into Mother's dinning room table"
HTH
That’s a lot of conjecture on your end. They simply combined the initial twenty episode order into one season.
No, CG, We read the news as is was happening and retain that information. That's Reality. We don't attempt to rewrite Reality to agree with our madness.
thanks for confirming they ordered more than ten episodes right off the bat
Knew that was coming. Madness has a pattern. Read back a few weeks and you'll see the news of the initial renewal.
>haha i posted information that contradicted what i tried to say, i knew someone would point that out!
lol
If you want noterietay why don’t you just make a trip or better yet develop a personality. Signing your posts at the end is just about they gayest thing imaginable
So it was pulled.
season 3 was on youtube for free and got 50k views. no one cares about it. most people dont even know it exists
Anon. You have brain damage. Stop arguing with people about whether or not they exist dumbass. Maybe people invested enough to see the first two seasons have no reason to watch something on YouTube they’re already paying to get with p+. Maybe you’re dumb as a rock
maybe P+ has no reason to continue producing a show that doesnt attract new subscribers, dumbass.
I made a valid point. You’re just screeching. You’re a psycho. I don’t know whether or not it attracts new subs. I know it isn’t going to affect your life one way or the other and you’re miserable by choice. Focus on things you like instead of things you don’t like if you don’t want to whine like a little b***h constantly
Its been explained to you a number of times, a number of ways, that streaming has no real incentive to pull a real audience, but streaming has huge incentive to pretend to have pulled an audience. Thus, astroturf.
putting pickletrek on youtube is proving, conclusively, that no one would willingly watch that shit, even for free (even though over 90% of paramount+ subscriptions were given away, for free), thus is pretty strong evidence that even people with their free subscriptions aren't watching it.
but you, being some brand of mentally ill moron (thanks again for showing me that link), can't understand that being a mentally ill moron who sucks up every pile of shit with a combadge on it, makes you an extreme outlier, thus not a significant market force.
>putting pickletrek on youtube is proving, conclusively, that no one would willingly watch that shit, even for free (even though over 90% of paramount+ subscriptions were given away, for free), thus is pretty strong evidence that even people with their free subscriptions aren't watching it!
"What do mean, people who can watch the show on Paramount+ on their 4K 60 TVs don't watch repeats on YouTube on their laptop. Listen to me!!!"
I don’t talk numbers. You’re confusing posters again. You also sound insane
good samegay, really convincing
Anon. Your medication. The bottle is full and unopened
I just said it was a good samegay, as in clearly two devices, thus, really convincing that you're not just one person.
We’re not. You have mental health issue. I get help
You don't understand, I honestly and truly believe you are more than one person because of how well you pulled off that samegay.
>I just said it was a good samegay! as in clearly two devices! thus, really convincing that you're not just one person! *screams*
All this, over a cartoon.
I’ve never seen the cartoon. They hate me because I’m trans
yeah, no one understands why you go to such lengths to try to "gaslight" people over such a shitty cartoon.
the only fitting answer is you're too moronic to understand how little you, as a random moron on Cinemaphile, matter to anyone. or you're just a shill, thus paid to be here no matter what.
it's not an actual shill it's just a couple of three gays from discord
captcha: GAYOHB
nah, its just one guy.
You have debilitating mental illness. I imagine you live in squalor
You clearly spend a lot of time imagining things.
You’re literally moronic
Its fun to imagine things, isn't it. you can imagine whatever you want! so much better than real life.
My life is pretty awesome lol. You have my sympathy. Get help sometime
i see your imagination helps you a lot! That's great!
no theres at least three of them, granted their ring leader is online a lot
nah, its just one guy. there's no reason to think otherwise.
>literal same second
>samegayging
I wish tourists would leave
>I mean the show clearly does have fans, otherwise it wouldn't be on season 4.
Kneecaps the longstanding and profitable advertising model.
Sabotages the longstanding and profitable syndication model.
Gives control over some of the most valuable IP rights to clowns who dont/won't understand the subject matter or source.
Literally losing billions a year, sorry.. where is the profit? it's unsustainable.
That's streaming services in general, though, that's hardly unique to Paramount. Netflix is the only one that makes any money.
its unique to paramount in the sense paramount has no other revenue streams.
>Paramount has no other revenue streams
It still has everything else Viacom and CBS own, which is quite a bit. What'll end up happening is the streaming service will go under and they'll just continue licensing shows out to third party services like Netflix the same way everybody else did before 2013.
in the sense media is the only source of revenue for viacom/paramount/cbs. disney may only have parks/cruiselines in addition to media, who's success is entirely dependent upon media, but at least that is something more than being entirely dependent upon the success of media. then WB is now just a skinsuit discovery network wears, and discovery network focuses on reality TV, which is still intensely profitable. All the rest are owned by other companies, diversified, etc.
Oh yeah, that's true. My contention is more that they have enough legacy properties and channels (including MTV, per your reality TV example) for them to weather this by cutting losses and licensing shows to more successful streamers. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if Amazon takes a crack at licensing the whole catalogue just so they can stop dropping billions on shit like Tolkien rights.
>mtv
you mean that channel that just runs "ridiculousness" 24/7?
>read anon's post
>surely he's exaggerating
>actually look up tonight's MTV schedule
O i am laffin. That kind of plays into my point, though, the only other thing on the lineup for the next 24 hours is Catfished. Those shows probably cost about fifty cents to produce, so any revenue they can generate from that is pure profit, even when it's licensed to others.
>companies don't give a shit about ideologies, they only care about what makes them the most money.
Have you been in a coma since 2002?
>reposting the same article with a different name to try to make your case look stronger
Pretty sad tbh.
He'll be making the same threads after it's renewed for Season 6.
Phony actually said, back when Lower Decks started, that the first season was cancelled during production and would never even air. He just refuses to acknowledge Reality, which is true madness.
> Phony in full meltdown in multiple threads.
Remarkable how a 25 minute cartoon can shatter the minds of the weak.
Gonna cry?
If you don't watch it, you're a racist goy. You're the same as Hamas!
OK, but how?
>subscribe to Paramount +
No dice mack

eh it feels like the show has had a good run, really big mistake to promote from the lower decks

>On a random Sunday. Not even a show day
Wow! What if I told that you that before S3, it had a thread everyday? There was once a permanent Cinemaphile Star Trek general.
Those people are gone now.
how can I get a job with paramount+ to promote insipid dreck to fatherless manchildren
they dont hire people directly. they hire advertising firms that hire consultants that hire poos and chinks to blast messages on repeat around the net. you probably want to work for the consultants who write the scripts
You have schizophrenia. Such things do exist. They don’t apply to here. No one is advertising anything but crypto scams or religious snakeoil here
im not saying they dont exist. im saying the studios add a couple layers of seperation.
No i want to work for the ad firm
Ummm like maybe stop hiring redditors to write your show?
I've been saying that about Cinemaphile for years but no one ever listens
We all know; when the based war baby and boomer israelites either retired or were forced out after the 2008 writers' strike, it left a void filled in by cringey Gen X and millennial nepo hire israelites.
Old writers based their work around their lives, fighting in WW2, and their experience in other forms of media.
New writers base their work around what their Twitter feed shows.
*greatest generation, war baby, and boomer
Does anyone even watch that shit?
>calls on fans
lol the show has 5 fans and they are all too busy shitposting on Cinemaphile to do anything useful to help
that's not true, they got the youtube release 50k views per episode
>that's not true, they got the youtube release 50k views per episode
There are amateur youtube channels that get more views than that without even trying. Come on now.
yeah but 50k views is a good amount for five people in their spare time.
Nu shit is just Nu people picking through the dead remains of old franchise because they can't write anything New. So the term Nu is a non-ironic insult.
prodigy got canceled?
Shocker
not just canceled
they outright DELETED IT
you literally can't watch it anymore
because not even the pirate streams will show it for that long
>you literally can't watch it anymore
It’s on iTunes and Blu-ray.
>It’s on iTunes
... oh right, just like all the other stuff they deleted. so what's happening is apple is paying for exclusivity and the difference between what apple pays and the "value" of the show is written off.
even worse, it got deleted
cant see s1 anymore and s2 was considered "near finished" and will never even see the light of day
S2 is in the can. When Paramount+ closes shop, whoever acquires Star Trek will be able to put it up on their streaming service.
And make no mistake: Paramount will be sold.
naw because the new owner, they like the paramount will realize the property is so poor in profit its cheaper just to not pay the tax on it
after WB, no one is going to try to buy a studio, they're just going to wait for them to collapse and pick up the IP when it goes to auction.
The only people with the money to do it would be bigass tech companies like Apple and Amazon, anyway, and they'd have antitrust lawsuits to worry about then.
arguably, discovery was smaller than WB when they did it, and dealing with their debt almost killed them.
and the studios aren't worth more than 50b right now, which is small potatoes.
walmart could do it.
there's about 30 companies on the fortune 500 list that could do it. they just won't, because they saw AT&T drop WB ASAP and how it almost killed discovery to pick it up after.
i only wonder how is that lower decks survived longer than Prodigy, which was way better than LD garbage.
>survived longer
Both produced forty episodes each thus far.
low budget isnt worth the tax savings and nickelodeon wasnt involved.
>LDgays attempting to shift the conversation on Prodigy
Reminder that they celebrated its cancellation because a kids show made their adult cartoon look bad.
Reminder your a middle aged or elderly man screaming into the void about children’s programming you jerk off to
I’m 22, actually. Grew up on The Clone Wars and Rebels so I like that kind of animation and storytelling. Prodigy was a fine show.
I was there on Cinemaphile and on Cinemaphile when A Moral Star, Part II aired, and when Supernova, Part II aired. Those two episodes just solidly btfo Pickle Trek so bad that I do believe it drove Lezzies (more) insane.
it feels right
>dont enter the neutral zone
>your orders are to enter the neutral zone
>commission like 20 different shows at the same time with their own writers, producers, set design, sound mix, actors, etc...
>only 10 episodes per season each
>keep throwing shit at the wall til it sticks, because each one is only designed to appeal to a specific niche audience
>wtf this model is no longer economically viable, time to cut a bunch of these
Why will streaming ever learn?
Nice.
Say bye-bye to it. Paramount just canceled their flagship show iCarly. Obviously they ran out of money.
>icarly
>flagship
no i don't think so
it was more popular than SNW and PIC
>its our flagship because its bigger than a canoe or kayak
and shit it got canceled faster than any treks
You're forgetting that Paramount also owns top-tier normie bait like Criminal Minds, NCIS, and Yellowstone.
i wish they would handle trek more like ncis
They had four seasons. That’s more than most shows. They should be thankful.
40 episodes is pitiful.
All anime rook same.
Even the weeb gets it.
when anime had sovl during boomer-millenial eras
soulless zoomer tranime
I've noticed that almost every Trek thread on this board is flooded with Discord trannies who obsess over this shitty cartoon. I guess it shouldn't be surprising given the roots of Trek's fanbase going back to the 60s, but a show that deliberately tries to be thoughtful really doesn't deserve to have a fanbase consisting entirely of troons and guys who look like Chuck Wendig who post about Drumpf on Twitter all day.
And by "a show that deliberately tries to be thoughtful," I of course mean none of the nu-Trek slop.
its dead, they might do one more season depending on the delivery timeline but its unlikely. since they are ending Discovery at Season 5 and potentially ending Strange New worlds after this season. Legacy will never happen or be used as a series reboot. they need to find a way to make up for the entire federation getting deleted by a space baby crying 700 years in the future.
either way the future is grim
anything that keeps them spending money while the ship sinks is cool with me
You act like a god damn rape victim. Star Trek isn’t your personality. It’s Gene Roddenberrys personality. You can get over it already
correct. and nutrek will never be that vision. accelerate.
anon you're the one getting constantly triggered because people don't like a shitty cartoon.
NOOO YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND I NEED THE CARTOON TENDI IS LITERALLY MEEEE (I'M TRANS BY THE WAAAAAAY)
I’ve never seen the cartoon or defended it. I’ve defended peoples right to talk about it without you threatening them and screaming like a literal moron
>I’ve defended peoples right to talk about it
as long as they're praising it, of course.
You frickers are never actually talking about the show. People watch it and have negative impressions. That’s fine. You may have even done that once, or once a season. That’s not what this bullshit is. You’re dragging grating repetitive Cinemaphile spam into an art thread. You’re trolling
>its only okay to talk about something more than once if you like it
kay
That’s not what I said. The amount you actually discuss the show is not a value judgement just an observation. If you talked about why you hate every inch of every scene in great detail you’d never hear me say anything about it. It’s the stock market mumbo. It has its own board and you’re spamming it here to derail conversation among real fans. You’re a disingenuous person though so idk why I’m trying. You trolled me. Great job
what the frick are you even babbling about you absolute moron?
your nutrek velma spam isn't discussion.
jesus dude there's more than one person on the internet.
not when it comes to nutrek fans.
so mindbroken from being outed for samehomosexualry he just calls everyone else a samegay
really sad
i accept your concession.
Stock market discussion on Cinemaphile is spam
the solvency of the company raping the corpse of star trek is pretty on-topic for those concerned if the corpse-rape is ever going to stop.
You have actual schizophrenia please get help. This shit has absolutely no baring on your life whatsoever. I don’t have a ten year window into the minds of any other mental cases but god damn are you fricked in your head. THINK ABOUT THINGS THAT MAKE YOU HAPPY. The most important show ever made was Star Trek and TNG raped that too and it still doesn’t matter. It’s a tv show anon. It’s not real. Get an actual life. Get medical aide
corpses not being raped makes me happy
you being an unhinged psychotic easily triggered by any criticism of nutrek or paramount makes me happy
I’m not triggered. I care about you anon. You are so unwell. It’s a tv show and it doesn’t matter. You have lost your mind completely
>"i'm not triggered" he wall-of-text'd calmly
>THINK ABOUT THINGS THAT MAKE YOU HAPPY
paramount losing billions and running itself into the ground makes me very happy. i'll always have real star trek to watch, that makes me very happy as well.
That’s not how happiness works. The fact you think that is happiness tells me you have never experienced happiness and have no reference point. You’re severely mentally ill
why does it bother you so much that people are celebrating the death of paramount?
No one is doing that. The misery around you is palpable. You are mourning the death of the illusion you are not moronic
>noo no one is celebrating you're miserable! you!
Except I'm quite happy that paramount is cancelling shows, deleting almost-finished content, and having steadily increasing financial difficulty.
No. You’re unhappy. That’s a fact. A very unhappy loser
listen, projecting isn't healthy.
You literally lack the mental capacity requisite to communicate. Everything you say is a smooth brained lie. You are dumb.
>I’m so happy so much bad stuff is happening!
Is not how happiness works. You don’t know what happiness is. You’re a mentally ill person. Sociopathic or something. Definitely belong in a care home
>bad things happening to bad people
>bad
why do you think paramount is good? why do you think their passing should be mourned rather than celebrated?
I don’t care moron
Well, I guess I have no choice but to accept your concession.
You are literally a moronic guy. Eat your shit for all I care. Not my problem. That’s what Ike trying to tell you
Okay. So why are you trying so hard to make it your problem?
I’m not interested in talk to you. You’re severely mentally ill
please continue telling me how uninterested you are in talking to me. that's really convincing me that you're totally uninterested.
>I’m not interested in talk to you.
Nice going, tard
I think you would discuss it on biz if you weren’t a schizophrenic
okay, so you're just upset that people are talking about things that aren't praising nutrek.
you could discuss this show on reddit if you're looking for confirmation bias
was the person who made/wrote this song also
>smooth brained, mentally, sociopathic, belonged in a care home, etc?
>female brain can't process consequences more than 10 minutes into the future
sometimes something has to fail so others can learn the lesson vicariously, and the future is brighter
right, I keep forgetting about that "mapping" thing they can't do. anything beyond the right now or the immediate is incomprehensible. also the idea they'd be more sad that people lost their jobs than happy that incompetent people were fired/destitute.
assessing statistical probabilities and gauging potential long-term outcomes is logic based
emotion is immediate and backward looking
you can't realistically synthesize the emotions you will feel if and when an event happens in the future but you can remember what pivotal moments felt like in the past
>you can't realistically synthesize the emotions you will feel if and when an event happens in the future
... uh, yeah, you can, provided you aren't moronic.
really? actors are taught in acting school if needing to cry in a scene for example to draw from their saddest memories
if they can do as you say, why don't they just imagine their child dying or some shit?
you can predict the kind of emotions you would have but you can actually replicate them until the moment happens
you're confusing accurate emoting with knowing what you will feel.
because you're moronic.
no, you're not getting it
emotion doesn't extend beyond the immediate so trying to use it to make long term future decisions is fricking stupid
that's what logic is for
No, I get it, completely.
Then you hear a noise you didn't expect, so you're started. then you move slightly wrong and part of the undercarriage touches your chest, and for a moment you're panicked.
using your car analogy, this program (the car) is not propped up by a pristine jack but by a jenga cube of assorted scrap metal
a passerby (the audience) tells the guy underneath the car that it's not stable and will fall if he doesn't use a jack
he ignores them
another passerby does the same
he ignores them too
at some point the best outcome for all is that the car falls and crushes him so that others learn not to be as stubborn and moronic as he was
But enough about you.
>THINK ABOUT THINGS THAT MAKE YOU HAPPY
like seeing the people that ruined the things we liked fail? that's the reason for this thread
the only person suffering here in their misery is you
>the only person suffering here in their misery is you
You are actually completely insane holy shit. Yes everyone believes you’re so happy and that’s why you spend all day every day crying about cartoons with other super happy people. You need a permanent dunce cap above your posts like birthday hats on Cinemaphileniversaries
mate you've spent your day here seething about a thread you don't like and playing armchair psychologist
don't try to lecture anybody on either happiness of mental stability
paramount took one of the easiest to write, long-lived franchises and still ruined it. we should get them dunce caps since they're out of money lol
>real fans
real trek fans abandoned this shit, that's the point
>It’s Gene Roddenberrys personality.
which they are raping
And Rick Berman's, which influenced the better aspects of Star Trek.
well no shit, people enjoy good looking people going on fun adventures, not this selfinsertet sarcastic garbage lonely college grads think relationships would work
Based we need all these shit trek cartoons cancelled.
Lower Decks? I wouldn’t piss in its mouth if its throat was on fire.
Don’t watch israeli slop. Watch me jerk off to underage rabbits and lizards instead
Once it's gone, we'll likely never hear about it again. There won't be shilling, and we know there aren't any fans. Gone and forgotten sooner than later. Rest in shit.
>Old good
>New bad!!!!!
another poltard rerun
who are you quoting?
>Old bad
>New good!!!!!
another twittard rerun
Let them die
Star Trek is gonna go in the Vault. It will never be a billion dollar franchise or a big mover. It's basically the grateful Dead of TV. Just make TNG/DSN/Voyager with a 500k per episode budget forever and most people would be Happy
>it will never be a billion dollar franchise
It already has been, anon, otherwise they wouldn't keep going back to it. The longest we've gone without new Star Trek of some sort being produced was the period between TAS and TMP.
Oh no!
Anyways
Lower Decks is unironically better than TNG and DS9
I only like TOS but Nutrek is objectively based for tarring picardslop, was that new pike prequel show any good?
Strange New Worlds is bretty gud
Was, then season 2 shits the bed with extra marvelquips, cartoon crossovers and a fricking musical
>extra marvelquips
I disagree.
>cartoon crossover
Good episode
>musical
Meh, I thought it was bold to put in that early on but it didn't offend me to the point where it made me forget about Under The Cloak Of War or Tomorrow And Tomorrow And Tomorrow.
the cartoon crossover was fricking terrible.
people who are content with ignoring its existence being forced to see it in a better show.
if it was anime and had fanservice it would be based
gross
chudime is bad
star trek is the only big franchise I couldn't get into
>you have to watch the first movie but it sucks!
>actually, you have to watch milion seasons of this super old tv show!
some shit for turbo nerds
>>you have to watch the first movie but it sucks!
TMP is a great scifi movie, only morons would say it sucks
