They've already taken away her city, her family, and her entire supporting cast (barring Bruno, but he won't be for much longer in her life). At this point, Kamala is just waiting for the Sentinel with her name on it.
>At this point, Kamala is just waiting for the Sentinel with her name on it.
She's the type of person who'd go fight Sentinels even when she wasn't a mutant. It's going to be thematically much more fitting if the next time she dies is because of mutant on mutant violence she wouldn't have been involved in at all if they hadn't retconned her origins.
They are so desperate they are going to pair her with Miles becasue they were successful with shoving him down peoples throats they think it could save this shit character
>She got a mega push and didnt stick
the mega push is what killed her. sales were pretty stable when she was a street level hero in jersey city. civil war 2 did irreparable damage to her.
Nobody who gave a shit about Kamala suddenly stopped because of Civil War II.
Its just that nobody did in the first place. They even ruined their huge AAA video game by making her the focus and it created ZERO new Kamala fans.
Dude come on I could have not been in the video game whatsoever and that still would have been a disaster video game it had all the was practices a major video game company dlc's package for different skin tones live service nonsense if a video games designed to need constant internet connection for people to enjoy it it's probably not going to be a good game compare Avengers to Suicide Squad kills the Justice League and yes people definitely gave a crap about her in the first place she did it so half a million people backs out of nowhere despite the crazy conspiracy theory you want it to be a bunch of librarians buying each of them.

Another DOA flop from Tom Brevoort
Usually the only X-Men title books I buy on the Deadpool ones but I love Kamala I'm a bit behind me in her books haven't let anything past the Anti Hero team up book but got most of them in paperback.( I'm extremely behind on my book reading) But I think I might get this book just for kamala.
>Also how many normal people can name a comic book heros who was made in the last 25 years?
Also, nearly all of them can name Miles and Kick-ass, not to mention Tanjiro, Deku and Gojo
Spidey and his Amazing Friends(a literal baby show) gives him the name Spin. (like "spinning webs")
The 2017 Spider-Man cartoon used the absolutely atrocious name of Spy-D.
And Ultimate Spider-Man(the cartoon) starts with him just being Spider-Man(as it adapts the whole backstory of him being from another universe where Peter died and he took up the mantle), but after he's permanently moved into the main universe, to avoid confusion the name he uses is Kid Arachnid.
Spin is about the only one that's not absolutely fricking atrocious.(get it. like spinning webs.)
She is still getting the Poochie mega push. Disney are going all in on the X-men now and Sana Amanat wants Kamala to be the new Kitty Pryde audience insert character even though the public hates her. Kamala's push will continue as l9ng as Sana Amanat is with Marvel
>laura with nxm characters
Yay that sounds fun good to see them possibly addressing that generation of characters >its two that she has zero ties and interactions with
Of course.
Considering it's been a while that they did a NYX comic, I bet this was to keep the trademark in use
Lanzig has teased on twitter >A crossover with MM:SM >Exploration of "intersectionality with Kamala >All characters (except Kamala) are on their early 20s >Laura's costume is a "huge bit of storytelling for us" >Synch appearing >Probably an OG NYX member returning >The cast is larger than these 5. This sounds like a book that will be heavily affected by event tie-ins
I'm going to at least check out the three main books they announced. The others it's going to depend on the writer. I'm not too excited for X-Force or Phoenix.
Not sure why everyone is shitting on them. Their Cap run was decent until the rushed ending. People are flipping out like this is some of Cody Ziglar's bullshit.
>Back to her old costume
The stink of desperation is overwhelming. I guess they are making excuses that downsizing her identity muh X-men was the problem and yet are still taking her out of jersey and away from her supporting cast.
>Unbelievable >We finally get another of my faith apart from that apostate Monet and it's ANOTHER apostate >It's bad enough she has her hair out like some Western harlot, it's bad enough that she's American but she's also my Allah forgive me for this slur, Pakastani
It makes sense for basically every faith except the Abrahamic faiths, they're provably real and have actual benefits. But canonically while there is a Heaven the angels kind of just do their own shit because canonically the big three Abrahamic faiths aren't real aside from documenting that YHVH exists. He has almost nothing to do with running them and doesn't answer prayers. You're better off finding a Spider-Man emblem and praying to Gaea than a cross and to YHVH.
>With Xavier’s school long gone and Krakoa destroyed, the greatest city on Earth is about to get a huge influx of mutants, whether they’re welcome there or not!
>See a group of former X-Men students navigate young adulthood, discrimination, and threats bent on shattering human-mutant relations for good in NYX, a new ongoing series from hotshot writing duo Collin Kelly and Jackson Lanzing (TIMELESS, ALIEN: BLACK, WHITE & BLOOD) and rising star artist Francesco Mortarino (AVENGERS, CULT OF CARNAGE: MISERY).
>Like the 2000s groundbreaking original series, NYX won’t shy away from reflecting the harsh realities of life as a mix of iconic and fan-favorite mutants reenter a world filled with bigotry, mistrust, and misinformation. Free from the X-Men’s guidance and Krakoa’s protection, they’ll shut out the noise and overcome the hate by doing what they do best—EVOLVING. But if you can count on anything, it’s that mutants are never all in agreement, and some are having a really hard time letting Krakoa go…
>This is a book about mutants living past the end of their world and into a new beginning. This is Ms. Marvel embracing her mutant life in the neon streets of the Lower East Side. This is Anole trying to keep his head above water. This is Wolverine in the shadows of Bushwick, protecting her own. This is Prodigy writing history as it happens—and Sophie Cuckoo finding her own way. The news reports are bleak. The streets feel dangerous. There’s something lurking underground. Evil coming from every direction. But they’re determined to make it. This is mutant community. This is mutant pride. THIS IS NYX!
>Like the 2000s groundbreaking original series, NYX won’t shy away from reflecting the harsh realities of life as a mix of iconic and fan-favorite mutants reenter a world filled with bigotry, mistrust, and misinformation.

"This is the kind of book we came to Marvel to create," Kelly shared. "When the Hivemind first formed, Collin and I bonded over books like RUNAWAYS, YOUNG AVENGERS, and the original NYX—stories that showcased that tense, wonderful place where the mundane world and marvels collided. And no book has embodied that more in recent years than Ms. Marvel—Kamala Khan is one of the most definitive protagonists in the Marvel canon and we're deeply honored to be inheriting the character from Iman [Vellani] and Sabir [Pirzada], while chronicling a whole new phase in her growth as a young adult."
"The opportunity to take on these characters is both an incredible challenge and an amazing honor," Lanzing added. "Sophie, Anole, and Prodigy have been personal favorites since their time on the New Mutants and New X-Men—in a sense, we've become who we are right alongside them. And returning Laura to NYX—while in a radically different context that centers her heroism over her victimhood—feels like the chance to really bring the character full circle and help her grow into the next phase of her life."
"I was a big fan of Joe Quesada and Josh Middleton’s version, so I was thrilled when Editor Annalise Bissa asked me to draw NYX!" Mortarino said. "I'm so glad to have the opportunity to work on characters like X-23 and Ms. Marvel, and NYC is a location that I love, so I'm eager to deliver the city vibes that I would see in books like Daredevil and Spider-Man! I’ve been really enjoying Jackson and Collin’s scripts, and I can’t wait to bring them to life!"

That sounds boring as shit. Why have a slice of life with kamala where you take her away from her established cast and make it about mutant fish out of water

No, the writers do what editorial and the head of creative tells them to do. Do you actually think Disney and Marvel give writers free reign to do whatever they want, dumb dumb?

editorial sits down and says >we want this number of books starring these characters
then they hire writers for those books and the writers pitch stories

Ignore the superschizo who thinks Amanat is a tool of whatever conspiracy he's into, she's plenty influential enough in Marvel to shove Kamala into whatever she wants
>Like the 2000s groundbreaking original series, NYX won’t shy away from reflecting the harsh realities of life as a mix of iconic and fan-favorite mutants reenter a world filled with bigotry, mistrust, and misinformation
I have utterly no faith that they will have anything to actually say or touch upon or even look at actually real shit or hard hitting topics. I expect the most miquetost takes on racism but only anti-mutant racism couched in pseudointellectual jargon learned on Twitter. Somehow this book will last 12 issues
>This is Ms. Marvel embracing her mutant life in the neon streets of the Lower East Side.

Oh a ham handed and shitsmeared "Mutants Are Le Gays gaiz!" homosexualry, not even really surprised but it's usually not this blatant and lazy in the solicits.
>Isn't Kamala still a minor. What the frick did they do to her parents, why doesn't she just move back in with them at this point.
Last I checked, she's 18 and graduated now. They wrote out her parents (likely for good) by saying that she's "off to college" so they don't know what she's really doing with the mutants.
>In what world have any of the fricking Cuckoos ever wanted to "go their own way".
it happens reasonably frequently >Esme goes full rebel and joins Xorneto >they disagree about whether to stay with Cyclops or go with Wolverine after Schism >Mindee and Phoebe dye their hair in Benis's run to express more individuality >I *think* Sophie specifically didn't participate in the Kid Cable orgy relationship with the other four and dated Quentin instead >there's also a literal alternate universe where Sophie separated herself from the hivemind completely

Every fricking thing about this sounds like it was engineered from the fricking ground up to be one of the biggest shitshows ever. Are they trying to get us to forget Krakoa's insane frick up apocalypse by burying it with a tide of rapid fire bombs and asstumors in the hopes that it'll seem less obvious in a crowd?
Don't. "Wow this looks terrible but it has a single character I like so I'll give them money." Do you know how moronic that is? If you want to read it just pirate it but don't even do that. You know it'll be bad and it'll likely be your generic modern woke trash bad so don't even give it your attention.
>but a single
literally all the characters in this book are some of my x-men favourites. Actually this is a chunk of the cast for the DeFillipis / K&Y new x-men ensemble, guest starring khamala khan. And they are promising more early 2000s characters.
Only weird thing is co-opting a weird and gritty af title for what appears to be a gillen inspired YA book. It's crossed the threshold of "daring" and this book will either be completely unreadable or complete GOTYAY
I started buying my own comics with New Mutants v2, I love the characters but I'm not going to swim in garbage because the trash siren beckons me.

huh I may give it a read >anole but no santo
dang
The only books that even look remotely readable so far are MacKay's and Gail's and MacKay's has an absolute garbage character lineup. Everything else looks bad.
It's so obvious that Kamala doesn't fit here at all. She has home in Jersey, has a school to attend to, and is preparing for college, why the frick would she be in this book at all?
All of Jersey City wants her dead for being a mutant, she's already graduated from high school, and her parents think she's off to college as her excuse for living in Krakoa.
It would have been a lot better or made more sense if they just made Zoe, Nakia or Mike a mutant but they seem to think what made Kamala work was Kamala herself and ot her supporting cast. Actually you could probably empower all of her friends and it'd be better whan the mutant thing.
>Kamala
Remains an Inhuman
>Mike
Latent X-gene activated. Mutie role covered.
>Zoe
She turns out to be descended from aliens or gets some kind of space object. Cosmic.
>Nakia
Learns ancient Arabian magic. Magical character.
>Bruno
Already a tech guy.
There, done. Everyone powered, they're all a team and Kamala gets to keep her friends and cast.
What if the writers mess with that name and have a fragment of a primordial goddess of darkness appear and get punked by people far underpowered for the task?
And you mean battled happen and everyone's Comics went back to issue one because of that afterwards the time she became magnificent Ms Marvel for at least start and actual end of her original series ongoing. Not to mention Champions was a team but get ended during covid Marvel team was a limited series and what exactly are supposed to be I'm so many others can you actually name any of these suppose many others ?
Minis don't count as cancelled but they have all sold like shit, not even making the top 50 for her #1. She's selling worse than America Chavez did.
Kamala's books mainly sell paperbacks. I buy them in paperbacks and that's probably why most of her solo not team Adventures are the size of a single paperback.
>Giving back her old suit in a desperate attempt to pull in anyone pushed off by her mutant plot taking over her entire premise >still push the book as mutant problems
I hope this shit bombs so hard they reset her status quo.
Not loving the lineup. Because I can't see where the drama will come from other than Kamala trying to to stop X from killing people.
They should have added a straight guy for the girls to fight over, the prospect of Anole and Prodigy hooking up is lazy.
Prodigy and Sophie cancel each other out, the psychic should be the smart guy type by default, and anything Anole can do with his body Kamala can do better.
X-23 doing single mom stuff with Honey Badger will have to carry this book hard
>Because I can't see where the drama will come from other than Kamala trying to to stop X from killing people.
It's NYX, anon. The drama will come from which character's turn it is to sell sex for drug money.

>Exploration of "intersectionality with Kamala
Gonna be the most dogshit part because every fricking character will have the obviously "correct" (IE most broadly accepting) opinion with no differences and will all agree while Kamala lectures some douche about bullshit. Everyone will probably agree with Kamala on every situation that comes up, deferring to her instead of making some good conflict
>Described the book as "Phonogram (but make it mutants)"
This could actually be good.
But since when are all the New X-Men kids in their early 20s? If they're early 20s, how old are the New Mutants and Gen X kids? Anole was only 14 during Decimation.
They're in their early 20s because otherwise they'd have to answer questioms about why the Krakoa writers were writing stories about them being in orgies and quintuples or how one's powers affected another's during sex. The writing equivalent of drawing a sexy Ochako but claiming she's actually 18 in the drawing.
>Anole was only 14 during Decimation.
Decimation was 2005
This book comes out 19 years later
If 4 real-life years = 1 Marvel year then 19 years = 4.75 years in Marvel time which would push him to 18-19 y/o
Add that to the fact that he spent a full year in Omega World during Extraordinary X-Men then he's 19-20 y/o
Exactly. Which means the writer saying they're all early 20s ages him by at least another decade worth of publishing history.
You age up the New X-Men and you age up the New Mutants. Remember, Kitty Pryde should only be 24.
Cyclops is early 30s.
Current history has him at 16 in X-Men #1. 61 years later he'd be 31 or 32.
>why no one likes Synch
Sure seems like someone at Marvel really does.
I've liked Synch since Gen X. I think Duggan going all in on the X-23 romance instead of going for awkward soap opera stuff with Monet was a mistake, but he was a good addition to the team. Why don't people like Synch?

Cyclops and most of the other original X-Men started out around 16. Spider-Man, the Human Torch, Wanda and Pietro all started out at a similar age. IIRC Angel and Beast were a year or two older, Bobby was a year or two younger, but none of them should be significantly older than the others today. As Marvel will NEVER allow Peter and Johnny to reach 30, most of the others shouldn't really be aging that far, no matter how much X-Men writers want to portray them as older. They need to either drop the shared universe entirely or play by the rules established for the more important character.
>I've liked Synch since Gen X.
Synch was just the boring normal guy in Generation X. Team books kind of need to have someone like that, but everyone else around him stood out more. They basically brought him back just to be the obligatory black guy who's banging a popular readers' waifu because it's getting like an obvious fetish within Marvel. It sucks for X-23 fans, but following her over the last ten years must be a never ending cycle of pain.

REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
From Lauragays shit just doesn't make sense to me
Christ this is everything wrong with comics in one image >Who is this book for >Did they want this book >What is this book about >Why would I choose this over anything else
It's like they make shit for themselves then forget that they have to share it with other people
It's impossible she has too many excuses loaded in the chamber. >The civil war tie
apparently it killed her sales for the next 30 chapters and across multiple relaunches >Her being an Inhuman
even though the actual Inhumans sold better she did after her sales drop and while up against mountains of negative PR. Not to mention becoming a mutant only driving her sales lower >new Writers not writing her right,
Wilson still has wrote more Kamala than anyone else and her run is where sales went to shit
>even though the actual Inhumans sold better she did after her sales drop and while up against mountains of negative PR.
Source? That's pretty funny if true, because I remember that being thrown around as one of the reasons why she wasn't as much of a starlet as she should be.
According comichron Ahmed's Black Bolt sold more than his Ms Marvel. Soule's uncanny Inhumans and Ms marvel flipped back and forth from month to month. It's gets way harder to tell after Marvel leaves diamond but smaller sample sizes like comicbookrevolution and ICv2 have Kamala's last few minis not even making it into the top 80s.
Since when is Kamala a mutant? Did they just retcon her origin so that they could continue to use her despite being an inhuman? Because after how big of a deal they made out of the inhumans push that would.be fricking hilarious
They didn't retcon her being an Inhuam, they just said she was also a mutant and that being an Inhuman stopped her powers from activating. Her powers still don't work but apparently they are in there somewhere. AKA Marvel is scared new shit will scare away what little fanbase she has left.
>come across the first two issues when i was 13 >hey this looks pretty cool >forget about it >find out years later it goes full capeshit >see this doubling down garbage
absolutely fricking disgusting. i have more fun reading 90's doujinshi than anything this whole industry is ever gonna shit out. everyone is such a fricking loser
She's not insufferable and at least they put her with an actual good girl (Loa, who was also made gay out of nowhere because the Britgay writers are obsessed with homos) instead of that stupid Bling! shit which is why she's gay now in the first place.
#SaveKamalaKhan
Get her out of this madness now! This is just miserable & shows how the editorials don't even know what they're doing. Kamala being part of the mutants was pointless & they should have brought back the Inhumans to explore more of the cosmic elements to her Inhuman heritage, & how would this mean for Kamala as a Muslim female
This is just a nightmare & Kamala needs to get out of this mutant nonsense now! Bring her back as a street hero again
Because Marvel took an offhand remark from Kamala's original creator that she was supposed to be a mutant in the first place to justify erasing all her established cast and setting.
I wish they'd just reboot everything and start over, no need for an exciting new spin because everyone loves their old soap opera anyway. Just turn down the power levels and get rid of the villain of the week, it's a character drama + action movie, it doesn't need an epic fight that changes everything forever until the next week where it's forgotten again.
Everything is better when it's not this incestuous mess of hyper-superhumans. The constant attempts at crossovers to squeeze the most money out of fans is detrimental to the writing as well.
pic related, Laura is sad because of the state of Marvel comics
>bad writers who hate superheroes >shitty lineup of characters >creaming themselves in the press release about how they're going to make this a socially relevant book tackling "real issues" so it's going to be some kind of late 2010s style terrible wokeshit book
i like laura and I'm desperate to see her done well after how the last few years have gone so I'm just praying that by some miracle this doesn't suck ass
Then don't read this book and don't commit so hard to charactergayging you'll read obviously shitty books by bad writers. Only junkies degrade themselves for a fix.
i'm not gonna spend money on it. just gonna read the first issue as soon as I can find it online. on the 1% chance it turns out to be at least kind of good, i guess I'll keep reading. if not, I'll go back to daydreaming of something better.

Usually the only X-Men title books I buy on the Deadpool ones but I love Kamala I'm a bit behind me in her books haven't let anything past the Anti Hero team up book but got most of them in paperback.( I'm extremely behind on my book reading) But I think I might get this book just for kamala.
Those are pretty shitty sales numbers for "Marvel's most beloved new character".
Where exactly did you get get anyone was calling her "Marvel's most beloved new character"?
Also how many normal people can name a comic book heros who was made in the last 25 years?
That's what Sana Amanat and Disney marketing says, not me
>Also how many normal people can name a comic book heros who was made in the last 25 years?
Also, nearly all of them can name Miles and Kick-ass, not to mention Tanjiro, Deku and Gojo
So 2.... out of dozens? Which makes Kamala being among the few pretty a miracle given how much nobody reads comics.
Miles (as either Spider-Man or Spin)
Ms. Marvel
Invincible
Wee Hughie/Butcher/etc.
Kate Bishop
Echo
Naomi
Jessica Jones
The Runaways
All of them have had TV shows. I'm not saying normies will know all of them, but I'd be surprised if they didn't know at least one. Especially Miles.
>Spin
He finally got his own name?
Those are good numbers for a new character.
just looks like a steady downward trend to me
She is still getting the Poochie mega push. Disney are going all in on the X-men now and Sana Amanat wants Kamala to be the new Kitty Pryde audience insert character even though the public hates her. Kamala's push will continue as l9ng as Sana Amanat is with Marvel
>character even though the public hates her.
Sauce alt right people on the internet who think their opinions are mainstream..
Why exactly does Emma want Kamala to believe she's a mutant?Does it have something to do Kamala gets in the best Champion's moments with Cyclops?
>even though the public hates her
The audience doesn't hate her they don't give a damn about her
This isn't gonna get past 10 editions isn't it
She's not Gwenpool so she'll be fine.
>laura with nxm characters
Yay that sounds fun good to see them possibly addressing that generation of characters
>its two that she has zero ties and interactions with
Of course.
I can't remember seeing Hellion at all during Krakoa
He was lucky he was just a background character with one thing. Rockslide got killed off and mercury got written really poorly.
>Rockslide got killed off
Killed off for good, so far?
He got a shitty replacement and was one of two mutatans to effectively die during the era.
Santo's no more dead than Magik was during the Darkchild era.
Who was the other
Gorgon
They just love reusing old titles, don't they?
It is all about brand recognition, it worked for X-Force and Astonishing X-Men.
Considering it's been a while that they did a NYX comic, I bet this was to keep the trademark in use
This sounds like a book that will be heavily affected by event tie-ins
Oh, so the Hellraiser strategy.
It's part of trying to make old shit unsearchable.
@143146930
(You)
Yeah, that's why I worded it that way.
I get hickman cause he's autistic but idk why they're doing it again with the relaunch
Who's writing this one?
No creative team was attached to it because there was no article and the original tweet seemed to be a scheduled one that was quickly deleted
I'm going to at least check out the three main books they announced. The others it's going to depend on the writer. I'm not too excited for X-Force or Phoenix.
collin-kelly-jackson-lanzing-francesco-mortarino
That was in the url before marvel deleted the tweet
LMAO THE WONDER DUO OF TRASH
between them & thorne i'm hopping on the DOA train
Didn't those guys write something recently that people really liked? I can't remember what it was because I didn't read it.
the cap books were alright
then they had the 4 issue thunderbolts
they have something at DC but Idc what
the DC book was attempt to do Planetary but with d-list Batman characters
>could have been a good place for the New X-Men crew
>nah another shitty Kamala book
They've never written a single thing worth reading.
Either a random Cuckoo for some reason, Kiden or an OC.
No, incognito shills tried pushing their captain american but it wasn’t any good at all.
Not sure why everyone is shitting on them. Their Cap run was decent until the rushed ending. People are flipping out like this is some of Cody Ziglar's bullshit.
how did "peolpe really liked" if their books keeps getting cancelled due to low sales? THERE'S NO ONE TO READ THEIR SHIT
>NYX relaunch
Is X23 going back to prostitution and taking these losers with her?
Kamala gets sold into sex slavery
No anon, she's getting sold to the Blob, Mojo and Kingpin.
cute
>Back to her old costume
The stink of desperation is overwhelming. I guess they are making excuses that downsizing her identity muh X-men was the problem and yet are still taking her out of jersey and away from her supporting cast.
Kamala has zero good comics
>Kamala still trapped in the mutie ghetto
Sad.
Once they get you, you can never escape.
Who's that general blonde?
Her clothes are literally falling, what would Kamala say about it?
Kamala is a fake Muslim. Dust would call it haram
Dust specifically claimed to not judge Surge for her skimpy clothes.
And Surge rightly shot back at her that she definitely was judging her.
>paki vs afghan shitflinging
mar(l)el doesn't have the balls
>Unbelievable
>We finally get another of my faith apart from that apostate Monet and it's ANOTHER apostate
>It's bad enough she has her hair out like some Western harlot, it's bad enough that she's American but she's also my Allah forgive me for this slur, Pakastani
>unless you’re a frothing from the mouth religious fundamentalist zealot YOU. ARE. NOT. A. REAL. BELIEVER.
Cool story, bro.
>unless you believe in something you are not a believer
...Yes.
it boggles my mind how anyone can believe in religion in the Marvel Universe.
Did they finally make Softserve into a main character?
What the frick for that concept. Like both a fetish thing and also a strange concept.
The absolute madman
well if you say so captch
Ra Four
Is that Kaiden? She's a ho. But so is Laura. Kamala won't judge, her favorite hero is Carol freaking Danvers.
Carol isn't a bawd 🙁
Remember when she dumped Rhodey then got sloppy drunk and fricked Strange, then Strange ghosted her so she went back to Rhodey? That's ho behavior.
She wasn't drunk. Also Strange is a great lay and she had probably jerked off in his body already anyway.
You're right, she wasn't drunk. Just a prostitute.
and don't you forget it
>group of new york mutants
>front and center is a jersey city inhuman
Sana Amanat and her consequences has been a disaster for the Marvel Comics race.
But will there be teen prostitution in it? And who the frick has Sophie Cuckoo, Anole or Prodigy as their favorite? Where's Pixie or Dust?
Hell, where's Mercury. At least give Kamala a fellow shapeshifter to pal around with.
Mercury is am insufferable dyke now. I just want Pixie, this team needs a joyful girl badly
After Krakoa, the world is 100% justified in hating and distrusting muties
>Anole
Anole was cool when he was hanging out with Santo.
I like Prodigy. Anole's alright.
That sounds boring as shit. Why have a slice of life with kamala where you take her away from her established cast and make it about mutant fish out of water
Amanat must throw more shit at the wall until something sticks
Do you think she has mind control powers in order to make all of this happen?
She's VP of Marvel and Huma Abedin's cousin and met with Obama in the white house multiple times. Yes she indeed has that power.
"Muh Sana Amanat is a nobody with no power!"
oh yeah I'm so sure Amanat is calling in favors with her best friend Barry to force comic book writers to make lame stories about Kamala Khan
>Sana Amanat is an American comic book editor and an executive of production and development at Marvel Studios,[1]:23 having formerly been the Director of Content and Character Development at Marvel Comics
She doesn't need to call up Barry. She has the authority to do it herself, dingus. She gets co-creator royalties for everything Kamala appears in too.
or the writers are just hacks and make lame stories of their own volition without it being part of some grand conspiracy
No, the writers do what editorial and the head of creative tells them to do. Do you actually think Disney and Marvel give writers free reign to do whatever they want, dumb dumb?
editorial sits down and says
>we want this number of books starring these characters
then they hire writers for those books and the writers pitch stories
Amanat probably pushes for Kamala books to exist, but she doesn't mind control the writers into making them lame and shit, they're just lame and shit writers
>the writers pitch stories
they do not. most of the time editors approach writers with the books pitch and tell them to write it.
Ignore the superschizo who thinks Amanat is a tool of whatever conspiracy he's into, she's plenty influential enough in Marvel to shove Kamala into whatever she wants
Get Kamala out of this! I want her back as a street hero again. This is just pushing her into something she wouldn't need to be involved with anyway
She hasn't been a street hero since Secret Wars happened.
From the streets she came, and to the streets she now returns.
Isn't Kamala still a minor. What the frick did they do to her parents, why doesn't she just move back in with them at this point.
>and Sophie Cuckoo finding her own way
In what world have any of the fricking Cuckoos ever wanted to "go their own way".
>This is mutant community. This is mutant pride. THIS IS NYX!
>In what world have any of the fricking Cuckoos ever wanted to "go their own way".
it happens reasonably frequently
>Esme goes full rebel and joins Xorneto
>they disagree about whether to stay with Cyclops or go with Wolverine after Schism
>Mindee and Phoebe dye their hair in Benis's run to express more individuality
>I *think* Sophie specifically didn't participate in the Kid Cable orgy relationship with the other four and dated Quentin instead
>there's also a literal alternate universe where Sophie separated herself from the hivemind completely
>Collin Kelly and Jackson Lanzing
Greaaaat, its the dipshits who hate superheroes.
That's most of the people writing superhero comics now.
>shattering human-mutant relations for good in NYX
What was left to ve shattered? Genuine question.
>thinking the status quo will ever be anything but eternal
>Check out Sara Pichelli’s cover now and hit the streets when NYX arrives in July!

I wonder what was the appeal for Sophie over her sisters. Because she died?
because she was xorneto's teenage gf
that was Esme, Sophie's the one who bit it during Riot at Xavier's
>Kamala Khan is one of the most definitive protagonists in the Marvel canon
>"Sophie, Anole, and Prodigy have been personal favorites since their time on the New Mutants and New X-Men—in a sense, we've become who we are right alongside them. >I was a big fan of Joe Quesada
Every fricking thing about this sounds like it was engineered from the fricking ground up to be one of the biggest shitshows ever. Are they trying to get us to forget Krakoa's insane frick up apocalypse by burying it with a tide of rapid fire bombs and asstumors in the hopes that it'll seem less obvious in a crowd?
>academy x mentioned
ok frick you i'll but it
Then I shall take the dive for both of us. I'll inform whether it's just more late krakoa slop or something actually interesting
Piracy is a thing, y'know, at least to know if the first issue will be worth buying it won't
it's not like Marvel books are flying off the shelves and you'll miss it for not picking day one... right?
That's how I roll. Pirated most Krakoa era stuff, because most of it wasn't worth the money but my curiosity won't leave well enough alone(specifically re: X-Force).
>"This is the kind of book we came to Marvel to create," Kelly shared. >Academy X and Morrison characters on a YA book.
huh I may give it a read
>anole but no santo
dang
we can only pray they fix Rockslide somewhere in there
>New X-Men
where the FRICK is Surge
X-Force
>Geoffrey Thorne
not like this...
This is malicious compliance by Brevoort.
He clearly wants to crash the X-Men franchise.
Angry people buy more comic books according to him.
That hasn't worked for a long time especially since the rise of the large scale comic book reading sites.
okay that's twice now we have two psychics on a team for some reason. huh.
Once you're a mutant your entire identity must revolve around that one single gene or you're a race traitor
>t. x-fans
All of Jersey City wants her dead for being a mutant, she's already graduated from high school, and her parents think she's off to college as her excuse for living in Krakoa.
If you don't actually read the comics say you don't read the comics. It's OK. You don't need to make shit up.
Having one of her supporting cast be a mutant would allow them to play up the Inhuman-Mutant conflict
Teenage mutant inhuman Romero and Juliet is right there
Nakia is Turkish though. Maybe something involving the Hittites
Other then that I would like this to happen
>Nakia is Turkish though.
Oh sorry, Ancient Agrabahn voodoo magic then.
>Runaways but in New Jersey
jej my exact thought
i would read it if it was good
is that Ed Piskor up there?
Too soon, anon.
Too soon.
>take name associated with Laura
>jam a bunch of other characters in, kamala up front
I’m so sick of the fricking homosexuals running this company
That x-23 costume looks like new 52 Cassandra Cain
Where are the other cuckoos, Kamala needs them
I want to see an image of Emma preparing Kamala for her and Tony to have fun with sexually.
Carol beat them to it ages ago
Emma only tasked one to make sure Kamala doesn't break free of the hypnotic suggestion of being a mutant.
Does anyone have a link to the full image?
Are they even alive? I know Quire saved one, but I think the others are dead or missing.
Ms Marvel=no dimes
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHA
WHAT THE FRICK IS THAT
jesus christ dude why marvel keep doing this. this is a fricking joke. I'm starting to get jokerized by these clowns
I only just now realize it's supposed to be read as NY X
What if the writers mess with that name and have a fragment of a primordial goddess of darkness appear and get punked by people far underpowered for the task?
Sara Pichelli's art has been terrible since that god awful JJ Abrams and Son Spider-Man comic.
She needs to leave Marvel and do something creator owned and re find what made her great.
Going to be hard to find Justin Ponsor now
Her art's been bad for a long time since, as was said, Ponsor isn't around to make it look better.
How many books has Kamala had cancelled now?
All three of her original runs, Champions, Marvel Team-Up, and I'm sure many others.
Kamala's books mainly sell paperbacks. I buy them in paperbacks and that's probably why most of her solo not team Adventures are the size of a single paperback.
>Kamala's books mainly sell paperbacks.
Book. The only TPB that's ever sold well is the first one for the first series.
That was the one being ordered by libraries and colleges, and the one Marvel were also selling through Scholastic.
Minis don't count as cancelled but they have all sold like shit, not even making the top 50 for her #1. She's selling worse than America Chavez did.
>Giving back her old suit in a desperate attempt to pull in anyone pushed off by her mutant plot taking over her entire premise
>still push the book as mutant problems
I hope this shit bombs so hard they reset her status quo.
What the frick is that X-23 costume
Free Kamala from the x-men
Not loving the lineup.
Prodigy isn't a psychic and Anole isn't a shapeshifter/rubber person
>Because I can't see where the drama will come from other than Kamala trying to to stop X from killing people.
It's NYX, anon. The drama will come from which character's turn it is to sell sex for drug money.
>X-23 doing single mom stuff with Honey Badger will have to carry this book hard
Frick you, that shit ruined her character
>the prospect of Anole and Prodigy hooking up is lazy.
that would be removing anole's entire character kek
>oh woe is me i'm too ugly to have sex
Lanzig has teased on twitter
>A crossover with MM:SM
>Exploration of "intersectionality with Kamala
>All characters (except Kamala) are on their early 20s
>Laura's costume is a "huge bit of storytelling for us"
>Synch appearing
>Probably an OG NYX member returning
>The cast is larger than these 5. These are just the core 5, POV characters.
>The rest of the cuckoos will show up
>Prodigy does something!
>Kamala’s family - particularly Aamir - plays a big role in her arc. Bruno, you’ll learn more in issue #1. The focus will be on her life on NYC.
>More New X-Men/Academy X kids and Kamala cast members will return.
>Described the book as "Phonogram (but make it mutants)"
>Kamala wom't shapeshift as Mystique bit more exploration of her powers regardless.
>Anole on his "Llewelyn Davis period" focus of issue 3
>At least one of Hellion, Skids, Jessie Bedlam, or Siryn will be in issue 1
>Laura is the focus of issue 2
>T’Lir’s is not in it
>Kamala won't shapeshift as Mystique bit more exploration of her powers regardless.
Cowards! Give her back her full powers already!
>Probably an OG NYX member returning
It's Zebra Daddy
>T’Lir’s is not in it
Who?
Kiden, she's the only one who wasn't depowered on M-Day
There's are all buzzwords I like
>Synch appearing
why no one likes Synch
>why no one likes Synch
Sure seems like someone at Marvel really does.
He's too OP for my tastes.
>Exploration of "intersectionality with Kamala
Gonna be the most dogshit part because every fricking character will have the obviously "correct" (IE most broadly accepting) opinion with no differences and will all agree while Kamala lectures some douche about bullshit. Everyone will probably agree with Kamala on every situation that comes up, deferring to her instead of making some good conflict
>gen x
>original hellions
>syrin
>nxm
>nyx og
if this turns out to be the teen x-men book i've been asking for all these years i'll eat my own shoe.
Spider-Man and Cyclops are supposed to be like mid/late 20s too.
Cyclops is early 30s.
Current history has him at 16 in X-Men #1. 61 years later he'd be 31 or 32.
I've liked Synch since Gen X. I think Duggan going all in on the X-23 romance instead of going for awkward soap opera stuff with Monet was a mistake, but he was a good addition to the team. Why don't people like Synch?
Why should I like Synch?
no u
There's no reason to like Synch? Alright, cool.
Amazing Spider-Man (2015) #1 said Peter was 28. That's right on track with the 4:1 ratio. He'd be 30ish now.
>They basically brought him back just to be the obligatory black guy who's banging a popular readers' waifu because it's getting like an obvious fetish within Marvel. It sucks for X-23 fans, but following her over the last ten years must be a never ending cycle of pain.
The racist mind will always be absurd to me
>It's fine if my waifu was a literal hooker fricking and sucking in all her holes multiple times a night with multiple men and doing all sorts of degrading shit
>But god forbid she frick a black in one of several loving consensual relationships that's a step too far
Fricking insanity from these people
NTA but we know for an actual fact that it actually is fetish bullshit from at least Bendis. It's been an open joke in the industry that he'd suck Luke Cage's dick and let him frick his wife for decades.
That's something but what does that have to do with the weird ass standard of
>Prostitute
Ok
>Previous boyfriends
Ok
>Previous boyfriend but black
REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
From Lauragays shit just doesn't make sense to me
spider-man should be in his 30's
Actually interested in this one. Younger mutants just living life in NYC sounds good.
Don't know if Lanzing and Kelly are gonna be good with teen voices though
Where's my beloved Kamala who are the other four?
>who are the other four?
>Wolverine's girl clone
>Gay Black Guy
>Gay Reptilian Guy
>One of Emma's five teenage clones
Kamala and Emma.
>brainwashed her into believing she's a mutie
I can just imagine the the cuckoo keep asking tomorrow about Cyclops now.
>One of Emma's five million teenage clones
FTFY canonically a shitload of them survived and are still around it's just nobody fricking cares.
Christ this is everything wrong with comics in one image
>Who is this book for
>Did they want this book
>What is this book about
>Why would I choose this over anything else
It's like they make shit for themselves then forget that they have to share it with other people
>Who is this book for
The writers and editors
>Did they want this book
Yes
>What is this book about
Shit the writers and editors care about
>Why would I choose this over anything else
It's not for you chud
Holy shit, Softserve in a lead role.
Is that soft serve?
Cuckoos are only cute as joshi kosei in mini skirts, and there should only be three of them
Now that there are less dead than usual, need to find a niche for the others.
All five lived through that?
When will Kamalagays accept that she never drew dimes?
First someone has to convince Sana Amanat.
It's impossible she has too many excuses loaded in the chamber.
>The civil war tie
apparently it killed her sales for the next 30 chapters and across multiple relaunches
>Her being an Inhuman
even though the actual Inhumans sold better she did after her sales drop and while up against mountains of negative PR. Not to mention becoming a mutant only driving her sales lower
>new Writers not writing her right,
Wilson still has wrote more Kamala than anyone else and her run is where sales went to shit
Wilson lost her mind and forgot that she was supposed to be writing a superhero comic and not Persepolis fanfiction.
>even though the actual Inhumans sold better she did after her sales drop and while up against mountains of negative PR.
Kamala gets Mattie Franklin'd.
What the frick is that terrible costume for Laura.
they somehow found a way to make a wolverine costume MORE moronic looking
Isn't Kamala an Inh*man? Why are they letting mutant genociders on Xteams?
Since when is Kamala a mutant? Did they just retcon her origin so that they could continue to use her despite being an inhuman? Because after how big of a deal they made out of the inhumans push that would.be fricking hilarious
since last year
They didn't retcon her being an Inhuam, they just said she was also a mutant and that being an Inhuman stopped her powers from activating. Her powers still don't work but apparently they are in there somewhere. AKA Marvel is scared new shit will scare away what little fanbase she has left.
All I want is for Santo to come back so he and Anole can go on completely braindead adventures together again.
Unless there's a real fan of him, I don't think Wrongslide is getting fixed
much to my chagrin ewing didn't do much either
Yes
That was Kyle/Yost, I assume? No such luck anymore.
>come across the first two issues when i was 13
>hey this looks pretty cool
>forget about it
>find out years later it goes full capeshit
>see this doubling down garbage
absolutely fricking disgusting. i have more fun reading 90's doujinshi than anything this whole industry is ever gonna shit out. everyone is such a fricking loser
>13
how fricking old are you what the frick
Well, if he only found the first two issues, he probably read it around '03. So he'd be what, 32ish? What's the problem?
i am. a fricking moron. posting in 2 threads at once. forgot what thread I was in. assumed he was referring to a different comic.
Where is Pixie my girl
Name one writer brevoort could hire that can make Cinemaphile satisfied
Gordon Rennie.
Christopher Priest.
Bring back Marjorie Liu but make her use characters people actually care about.
Majorie Liu is apparenty blacklisted at Marvel for calling out the Shogun's yellowface instead of taking his mea culpa.
It's well known Cebulski tried fricking her and got rejected
...have you gays ever even like a comic book? Because it seems like any time anything gets announced you just shit on it
Can't like something that isn't even out anon.
with modern DC and Marvel, it's best to assume something will be shit until it is proven otherwise
NYX NYX NYX NYX NYX!
agi talent or free pathing
Might check it out if best NXM girl shows up.
Sorry she's an insufferable dyke now
That's literally every X-girl. You learn not to care about that.
No, only the mid to bad girls. That's how the actual best girls stand out
She's not insufferable and at least they put her with an actual good girl (Loa, who was also made gay out of nowhere because the Britgay writers are obsessed with homos) instead of that stupid Bling! shit which is why she's gay now in the first place.
Champions wasn't even good but this is such a downgrade. Look how they massacred my girl.
Yeah, I don't get why they made her a mutant. There was no reason to do it.
Because Marvel took an offhand remark from Kamala's original creator that she was supposed to be a mutant in the first place to justify erasing all her established cast and setting.
synergy. The Inhumans push for the MCU died in the womb so they made Kamala a mutant there to start laying the seeds.
The constant attempts at crossovers to squeeze the most money out of fans is detrimental to the writing as well.
pic related, Laura is sad because of the state of Marvel comics
i am cautiously optimistic in a delusional manner
>bad writers who hate superheroes
>shitty lineup of characters
>creaming themselves in the press release about how they're going to make this a socially relevant book tackling "real issues" so it's going to be some kind of late 2010s style terrible wokeshit book
i like laura and I'm desperate to see her done well after how the last few years have gone so I'm just praying that by some miracle this doesn't suck ass
What is this about Lanzing and Kelly hating superheroes and where did it come from
