I completely ignored this when it came out and only saw it recently. My expectations for Star Wars right now are about as low as they can be/nonexistent and I'm watching more out of perverse curiosity than sincere interest and immersion, but it still made me laugh by just how much I fricking hated it.
How was the general fan response? What did you think?
i think just because you can post doesn't mean you have to post. stop making threads homosexual
Haven’t seen it but I hate it.
Cinemaphile in a nutshell.
>the main fricking plot line isn't even about Obi-wan its about a youngling trying to get revenge against Vader
Not true.
I liked seeing Hayden.
It's garbage, just like the cartoon stuff - below that even. It's even worse than Book of Boba Fett. It's cheap, boring, and the main fricking plot line isn't even about Obi-wan its about a youngling trying to get revenge against Vader. Pointless.
It's absolutely fricking pathetic that a 5 minute detour in a D list cartoon is easily the most respectful disney has been to the OT.
I can only assume that's precisely because it was so short, and hence flew under the radar of whatever Commissar is assigned to make sure their products shit all over anything not concerning Leia.
webm needs the last bit with maul dying happy in his arms
And said youngling decides to randomly try to murder some kid that she heard mentioned in a recording, when she has no clue who the kid is, or that he even has any relation to Vader. Then, when she’s in the position where she could, she just randomly decides not to for no fricking reason.
>How was the general fan response? What did you think?
it was really good.
That was the point when I stopped watching any non-BotW RLM content. They totally lost me there.
They should have adapted that EU Kenobi novel instead tbh, or maybe focus on that whole "Path" thing instead, with Quinlan and Asajj live-action cameos.
Shills were defending it for the first couple episodes but when the chase scene with Leia in the forest happened it was over and people were rightfully mocking it
Pure.
Fricking.
Garbage.
Kenobi is awful I don't know why you didn't heed the warnings. I'd maybe understand if they tried coming up with something new and original, but the plot is a beat-by-beat copypaste of the Jedi Fallen Order game, with some moments stolen from SW: Rebels. Both these works exist in the same current canon, so it's not inspiration or parallels, it's just copying the homework to the letter. It's the most pathetically derivative SW work ever.
Nobody cares about SW anymore.
>Nobody cares about SW anymore.
>Nobody cares about SW anymore.
By "nobody" you mean you and your ass-fricking buddy? Because I still care about the Star Wars, I just watched the Bad Batch eps 10 and 11, and I'm re-reading the Death Troopers book.
Well I'm sorry to hear that, but I don't see why it's my fault
I haven’t watched it but it couldn’t be anymore obvious that it was Fan Service: The Series. Disney saw the Obi Wan plebbit memes and then made a show six years later and the tards still watched it.
A depressed obiwan doing oddjobs in the desert sounded like a comfy show but as usual disney needed it to be larger-than-life. So it's ridiculous.
Literally me but the desert is my life.
This. Why the frick are the inquisitors, Leia and Vader even in this show?
There are boomers who will watch and most importantly pay for anything that features OT characters and designs. They hated the prequels not because they're terrible movies, but because there are no Stormtrooper helmets or Darth Vader in it.
I watched it. It had its moments.
There was some cool worldbuilding. Child Leia almost ruined it singlehandedly since she couldn't act for shit and was a central character.
Everyone here hates on Reva because she's a black woman. Honestly, she was only bad in so far as her action scenes were terribly done. Otherwise she was fine (there's a very low bar for fine).
There's a dumb child Luke cameo at the end as well.
It's not worth watching overall.
But Ahsoka was far, far worse. I made it through a single episode of that before giving up.
It's unironically the worst thing Disney have made.
I can’t believe they didn’t use duel of fates during their face off.
The show not only had terrible writing, wooden acting, and cheap CGI but it also had technical issues (sound mixing, etc.). It was fricking baffling. It was like I was watching a YouTube fan film.
I think you can edit out all the crap and make a good movie. Some VFX guy is doing his own version.
It's contemptibly bad, and violates the OT in so many ways it really never should have been made.
It managed to retroactively make both the OT and the PT worse.
I didnt hate it even though I do feel like it was a very wasted opportunity on a beloved character.
