Nah bro that's not a bluff. You can't pull that shit outside of casual games. You try that shit at a private game or a casino and your ass is getting banned. Seen a lot of rich buttholes try this shit in LA and they can't find a table that will have them.
why would someone go all-in at a high-stakes poker game pre-flop without looking at their cards? How fricking gullible do you have to be to believe that?
You ever played high stakes Poker before? There is a sense of community and trust and Tony fricked himself out of both by doing this. Yes he still plays but good luck finding a private circuit he's still allowed in
by doing what? Telling someone he didn’t look at the cards before going all-in pre-flop? Oh jeez, what a dirty move… It’s not different than any other bluff. Phil had zero risk analysis the entire game, not just against Tony G. He spent several minutes deciding on whether to call against a fricking amateur, clearly putting him under a lot of pressure to call out a possible bluff. You would notice that Tony G only banters against show offs like Phil and treats amateur players with respect.
It wasn't that one and done thing you idiot. It's was the straw that broke the camels back. Dude was well known for treating Tampa as his personal playground for testing new angles in addition to the bullshit he has been pulling overseas for years. Once everyone saw him pull the iTs JuSt pOker shit ON AIR it all but cemented his rep

Hit and runs aren't against the rules either but try that shit a few times and then see how many invites you get. There's rules and then there's culture.

Nta but it's fine at a casino. If you do it at home games tho you're gonna get labelled as "that guy" and if you do it twice you're probably not gonna be invited back. Especially since these people are always nits.

It’s a fricking game, you uptight c**t. And no, this isn’t comparable to hit&run in any way. He didn’t do anything sleazy like raising and then backing off to say he called instead. He did the exact same thing throughout the game: rarely folded, bluffed aggressively, lied about his cards, etc. You are supposed to know your opponent instead of thinking that every player is part of a mindless hivemind with le culture. Phil should have recognized that Tony G is prone to bluffing and bullshitting his opponents and counteracted accordingly. Instead, he cried like a little girl about it.

The only time I ever played Poker for actual money I kept pissing off everyone at the table because I kept doing things frowned upon. I held my cards like I was playing Go Fish, I went to take a leak when I was dealer and generally didn't take it very seriously. They didn't like that. I had no idea it was so serious though if I had I wouldn't have bothered.
This goes for most things. If you play a game or do anything with a set of rules and you keep thinking you’re above the rules just because it’s a casual game, the other participants will obviously get annoyed with you
And that’s called a style of play
it has its advantages, but you cannot bait someone by being an autistic shut it. Tony G has a very aggressive style of play and was able to lure in most players for large pots, even if he lost hard on some of them
Tony G is brash and aggressive and it's his style. He can be the only person at the table talking smack. Some of the other guys like Daniel will gang up on Phil or other guys they feel it's popular to be buttholes towards, but will never be the only person at the table to needle his opponents.
Same with how they play against amateurs, Phill and Tony G will openly try and fleece them and as a result pick up a bad rep. Meanwhile Niggranu will act all nice but make most of his money from amateurs. Also there hasn't been a bigger asslicker of Phil Ivey, like ever. Bro is seriously pathetic - literally notice me senpai
I don't understand why the presence of Poker Phil necessitates lying. Is it to impress him or something?
Is there anything more pathetic than someone whining when they lose at poker?
Yes. Someone angling you. Pros should be above that shit.

nice fictional story
Comfy story bro.
Is that Tilly? How have I never noticed that before
What, her breasts? She's always had them.
Lovely pair and a lovely lady.
I hate the fact the world is no longer producing Tilly's.
he called a raise with a queen ten honey..

You can't just bluff in poker. That's not cool.

>You can't pull that shit outside of casual games
It was a casual game. Jennifer Tilly was there.
it wasn't even a real angle shoot, he wasn't fake betting or hiding his chips, Phil is just a dumbass
You don't know what you're talking about

calm down phil, i’m still allowed into more private games than you are

Booba :p
what game did he tell him they were playing?
lying is cheating in my book.
So if you have have pocket aces and I say "Anon, do you have a good hand?" you would say yes?
I would say that I'm not required to answer your questions about my card hand.
