couldnt you have waited a little longer for a better post to crack open your moronic "filtered" canned response you were waiting to use
that guy didnt even say anything negative
The deer isn't exactly a metaphor for friendship. It's a metaphor for our connection to the past. De Niro's refusal to shoot the deer represents his refusal to give up on his lost friends.
>FMJ
Very good but big discrepancy in quality between halves (second is better than the first significantly) >apocalypse now
DUDE LSD LMAOOOO and pretentious as hell >platoon
Overly melodramatic mess, climax feels mid asf
It's preachy as frick, but it's based on an actual battle. Like Platoon, they inserted fake drama for their agenda, but at least Hamburger Hill actually happened. Platoon was melodramatic claptrap by Stone. Entertaining, sure.
Full Metal Jacket is better in the source material. The book is in three acts - the two halves of the movie (the second half veers away in the movie in a big way), and the third act is dark as frick when Joker shoots Cowboy, after being assigned to his company. THAT would have made a hardcore as frick movie, and Kubrick pussied the frick out with the actual story of Joker and the other characters, like the captain who goes insane and attacks a NVC base with a bb gun, or Rafter Man getting run over by a truck.

Deer Hunter is one of the top ten strangest movies I've ever seen.
>yet another poor soul gigafiltered by the wedding sequence
Sad

FILTERED
Don't try to stop me Smee
it could be a little shorter and it would still be effective
Full Metal Jacket suck lol, the sets are godawful. It looks like it was filmed in a parking lot. All because Kubrick was too pussy to fly.
>i’ll just list them from worse to best and bait these frickers kek
wait Deer Hunter is about Vietnam? I thought it was about someone hunting deer and it sounded gay so I never watched it.
A significant chunk of the movie is about deer hunting, but more than that, it's about friendship.
It's more about the friends we made along the way (to hunting deer (it's a metaphor))
The deer isn't exactly a metaphor for friendship. It's a metaphor for our connection to the past. De Niro's refusal to shoot the deer represents his refusal to give up on his lost friends.
Full metal jacket, apocalypse now, and platoon are first equal. Deer hunter is boring my guy
deer hunter takes some time to get going but when you finish it and look back at the beginning you know why it had to start this slow.

You do realize its illegal to post here if youre under 18 right?
>Apocalypse Now in 4th
apocalypse now is better than hamburger hill or full metal jacket
Hamburger Hill is just a racial justice lecture disguised as a war movie.
It's preachy as frick, but it's based on an actual battle. Like Platoon, they inserted fake drama for their agenda, but at least Hamburger Hill actually happened. Platoon was melodramatic claptrap by Stone. Entertaining, sure.

Why does Joker shoot Cowboy?
Because he's dying, after getting shot by a sniper, and can't shoot himself.

Is Apocalypse Now the one that keeps playing that same song every time something dramatic happens? How much did that song cost them?

Set in Louisiana, but in spirit, it's a 'nam movie
Why is Battle of Long Tan ranked so low?
It wasn't bad but just generic and kind off forgettable
Go Tell the Spartans is an underrated one
Barnes did nothing wrong
