When you're tied to one woman sometimes it's like the world is this all night frick fest writhing beneath the surface and you just forgot about it for a while, but no matter how close you get to banging that chick at work or the party girl or the streetwalker you can't escape the seediness of it. That world feels inaccessible to you but at the same time you feel like you're using all your strength to not give in to temptation sometimes. Pedowood stuff aside, Kubrick captures something that I've only felt watching two other films- American Beauty and The Crush.
