Is there going to be a way to make -legit- Space Marines look good on film/camera/whatever when Cavill makes his adaptation? Is it going to NEED to be mostly CGI, or would you -accept- a cough cough reimagining cough cough closer to say...the Kryptonian planet suits from the beginning of "Man of Steel?" Something closer to the that end of the spectrum, similar to maybe gears of war even?
Is there a less shitty option?
woow
so original
*rolls eyes*
That filename is ironic. Kek
As always, Man of Steel proved that a DBZ movie COULD be made legitimately too.
>Is there going to be a way to make -legit- Space Marines look good on film/camera/whatever when Cavill makes his adaptation?
no
it's going to be halo tier of disappointing adaptation, especially because 40k is much harder to adapt
There have been a few high-budget cosplays that prove that Space Marine armor can be made to work on a real person while still being fairly true to the proportions in the art.
But I don't think we really need this show to heavily feature the Space Marines. The whole "warrior monk" think makes them pretty poorly suited to being actual characters. It would be better for the show to focus on an Inquisitor and his retinue, with the Marines only showing up in the finale when the time has come to confront the Chaos cult or whatever the antagonists are.
I hope I'm wrong, but didn't they confirm it's a Horus Heresy show?
I think that'd be a good place to start, maybe with a Westworld style past/present situation to show the difference between that era and 40k.
But then....you have the issue of...
How many primarchs do you feature? How do you cast them, and how do you bring the -baby gods who tank nukes and smash mountains- aspect across without making it cheesy?
I mentioned with the slight reimagining of the suits above, maybe you could use that past, present situation to display the dichotomy between what actually happened and what the propaganda or stories tell 10,000 years later?
I disagree. I think the story should start in the 41st millenium, after it all went to shit. Show the golden age later, so people who see the grimdark future can fully appreciate what was lost.
nothing has been confirmed beyond Amazon and Henrys involvment
Space Marines are the main characters and the most interesting part of the setting.
Only a complete moron would ignore them when making a 40k show. That's like saying you're going to adapt harry potter to the screen and then not including hogwarts.
>confront the Chaos cult or whatever the antagonists are
probably a housing block of hivers whose method of worship has been deemed heretical by the Ecclesiarchy
Crimson Fists are my favourite chapter by far, based anon for that picture.
isnt the problem that space marines need to be like 8-10 feet tall?
And their gene daddies are all even larger.
>Is it going to NEED to be mostly CGI
could be entirely cgi and just voice acted. astartes was popular and that was all cgi with almost no dialogue at all.
Why wouldn't they look good on film? Their armor would be CG but there's nothing wrong with that. Hell, just make the whole thing CG.
I hear what you're saying, but I feel like finding the middle ground or at least using as much practical effects as you can is going to make the difference in quality here.
Astartes was cool, but it has to be taken to another level for the General public if it's going to be done right. And I don't think Amazon is going to spend Avatar levels of money to make it look the way it would need to with all cgi.
>but it has to be taken to another level f
idk if you can top astartes or take that to another level, its some of the best CGI work thats been done and it was done by just one guy. they could go for live action but it'd be hard to get proportions and accurate on model stuff if they involved anything other than basic humans in the story.
I just wanna see my boy Grimaldus cracking some skulls.
40slop will never be good
I hope gw gets sued for ripping off dune
Everyone rips off everyone. GW should have sued Blizzard for Starcraft ripping off 40k and Warcraft ripping off Warhammer fantasy. The tolkien estate should sue anyone using Elves, Dwarves or any of the fantasy races and elements he created. You see how that works?
>GW should have sued Blizzard for Starcraft ripping off 40k and Warcraft ripping off Warhammer fantasy.
wow this ignorant parroted non-argument again. If you knew anything about either of the 4 universes you wouldn't have posted this, but then again you likely wouldn't have been on this shithole website in 2024 either.
For the emprah
So since brandon losing is basically confirmed, will they run someone else to at least have a chance?
They'll wait until after the primaries are over, then have Biden drop out of the race for health reasons, and the party will nominate Pritzker or Newsome to take his place.
Unironically kill all xenos
You can't frick a snake. Also, snakes do not experience human emotion. It wouldn't be blushing it would be trying to bite and then eat him.
>Something closer to the that end of the spectrum, similar to maybe gears of war even?
We have that in the game. It’s called Phobos armor.
Of you wanna make it look not moronic for a live action you have to make the proportions, specially the shoulder and legs armor more realistic, some autists will whine anyway but the figurine proportions irl would be comedy shit
Kek. Any 40k is going to a MASSIVE flop. First autist fanbois are going to shit all over it whatever a director or producer does. Second the lore is beyond gay and tryhard edgelord. No one will watch it.
>Is there a less shitty option?
Yeah project flopping so bad that GW calls off license back from Amazon and never returning to the Live Action series again
