I think the va's all did a good job its the editing that makes for some awkward pauses. The writing was also a mixed bag but its a pilot more focused on establishing characters and Lore so that's immensely forgivable
FBPB. Seriously, the subpar voice acting DOES NOT fit the fantastic animation production whatsoever. It's too amateurish, it's too subdued, the mic quality seems very basic (not professional level). Ponmi's voice actress sounds WAY TOO generic and tame for someone who's making all sorts of crazed facial expressions. She doesn't sound like a cutesy nervous wreck at the razor's edge from losing every single one of her marbles, she sounds like a generic twitter VA overplaying an acting role of a nervous character into a standard-quality mic. Same goes with Jax, his voice just doesn't match his high energy facial expressions. It's weird how the VA's voice fits Angel Dust from Hazbin perfectly, but not this character.
Not quite, I think it's the opposite. I don't think that the problem is "over the top" voice, I think that it's untrained, unprofessional voice actors trying to sound their hardest but not quite hitting the mark. The characters shouldn't sound like real people, they should sound like the wacky characters that they look like. Otherwise it creates a huge disconnect. Claine is a giant denture being with eyes staring mercilessly at you, but he kind of sounds like someone just putting on a voice for a generic comic dub.

I take it you dumb fricks dont watch anything outside of anime and dont know what good animation or acting is. Considering this project's indie animation budget, it actually outperforms many mainstream 3D/2D TV productions. The characters move correctly with subtle animations, avoiding the stiffness often seen in 2D shows or the overused tweening in 3D animations. the voice acting doesn't match the realistic tone needed for the characters in this context. They sound more like over-the-top anime dubbers, even though they are portraying real people in the story, and its cringe.
I have been listening to the dubbing staff of funimation, 4kids, and 90s viz media for almost years anon, and it is in no way as bad as them

Cain isn't dumb. He's just a computer program who doesn't understand what the outside world is or what an exit is.
That computer in the ending sequence is where he was born, that office is all he's ever actually seen of the outside world, and that "Exit" was the fire escape that sat across the hall from him. The reason he didn't know that to put on the other side is that he'd never seen it open, so he always figured it was just more offices.

My money is people put a headset on to take a scan of their brain, these scans are then digitally preserved so their external human can "live on" after death. Cain is desperately trying to keep the humans sane on his own but isn't really good at it, no one can remember anything cause solid memories of what happened/what they are would drive them insane faster. This may be in beta, a rogue project with the scans taken without the person knowing about it, or the world's ended and this is the half finished Arc project

My nitpicks
- Pomni loses her mind too quickly and exaggerates. There are stages to this kind of development. Usually it would be curiosity, denial, worry, grief, and then insanity. I know people here eat up mentally ill girls for breakfast but I prefer a slow progression over multiple episodes.
- Pomni irrationally feeling guilt for abandoning Ragatha. Clearly there was nothing she could do. Ragatha even said to go find Caine. (Much minor nitpick but I also didn't like the literal speed it took Ragatha to speak when she got glitchy. Her words come out too slowly.)
Overall not bad. I could actually sit through it without cringing unlike every other indie pilot.

Yes it's irrational unless you can tell me a logical reason why she feels that way. Irrationality doesn't necessarily mean bad writing. A lot of fears are irrational. But when it comes to guilt it's sort of lame for the character to beat themselves up over nothing. Perhaps this behavior is tied to her being a nervous wreck so maybe she feels the need to apologize whenever something bad happens. If that's the case then that's still irrational, but there are people like that who blame themselves for everything bad around them. I just find that kind of archetype annoying. Sometimes it can be seen as cute, helpless, and innocent but often it's just whiny, cringey, and narcissistic.
This could be an explanation for how she feels after things are fixed, but she still was needlessly apologetic when she came back immediately from the monster chase. Perhaps Pomni thought she should have sacrificed herself but that didn't seem plausible. She barely knew what was going on.

Yeah i agree, i really enjoy Goosework's designs. Like you said, Vivzie's are often way too overdesigned. Some are great, but others not.

Don't know why this has picked up in the past few days but I'll be blunt, is there overlap with ENA type of media or is it more of that "kid show but creepy" schtick?
The reason you're seeing it so much is because pilot came out a couple days ago.
It doesn't have much in common with ENA or kid's horror like FNAF except the surface-level appearance.
It's a somewhat dark comedy about characters trapped in some sort of kid's show, with an AI at the help who doesn't seem to understand what people actually need, so he just sends them on wacky cartoon adventures to keep them from going insane.
The show's pretty clear that the characters are completely fricked and have no hope of escape, but it's mostly played as a joke.
I like it. I'd recommend watching the pilot to get a proper feel of it.

It's hard to give specific examples because it's more like a reference to the collective experience of British kids show history than a reference to one specific example.
For some reason puppets were a really prevelant part of children's TV in the UK for decades, I'm not sure if they still use them with how much CG animation has become accessible but even growing up in the early 2000s you'd see a lot of BBC shows with puppets as co-hosts or main characters. Basil Brush, Nev the Bear, Hacker T Dog, Oucho, Jackson and Jelly, etc.
There was a special charity episode of The Weakest Link that featured nothing but puppets from UK TV history, which is probably the best single example I can offer for what watching TV was like as a kid in the UK and seeing puppet characters as interchangable with regular people.

I think the horror aspect of the show being mostly psychological might help distance it a bit from the "mascot horror" label.
Pibby/Banban/Poppy drew in kids in droves because it's >le kiddie mascot but EVIL, but while all the characters in Digital Circus are pseudo-kid friendly by design of the simulation, none of them are supposed to be scary. Caine is kinda unsettling but that's really it, the only "monster" in the show so far is abstracted Kafumo and he's only really scary in the same way that you'd be scared of a wild bear. Plus he's just a big glitchy blob with eyes, he doesn't seem to look anything like Kaufmo, and thus bypasses the visual characteristics of "le evil corrupted mascot character".
Fandom brainrot is definitely on the way, but i'm hopeful that there's a chance it bypasses that particular area of obnoxious low-quality content farming youtube.
I don't think the fandom brainrot will be as cataclysmic as something like Welcome Home's at least. Gooseworx's style of horror has always been fairly psychological which is one of the things I like about their content.

The team isn't big enough yet to work on Amazing Digital Circus and Murder Drones at the same time. For now, they'll need to finish the next to episodes of Murder Drones and then season 1 of that show will be done, where they will probably be free to work on more episodes of ADC - probably on a similar schedule to Murder Drones. They really are. Pomni nearly breaking down while Ragatha tries to keep her grounded. The whole time being only slightly less close to cracking herself.

Pomni's design is truly something else. Like, of course 'sad clown' is nothing new, but 'anxious jester' is definitely a variation on it that I haven't seen played out before. Jesters are meant to take everything in stride, to be the ones to surprise others, to show animation and smiles. Everything about her screams fun and wacky, but she's the one sinking into despair and trying to figure up from down. She isn't crying but she doesn't smile, and that's a fine difference.

Yes, however comparing the television show to the web series like remember Tony fricking ages all the protagonists alive as their bodies rot around them in the second episode or the Food Gang clawing out Green's organs and feeding them to Yellow? The teachers were menaces who actively were harming them. In the new series the horror is relatively subdued with the teachers essentially being nuisances or non malicious. Like the Twins and the Coffin are the most actively out to cause harm but they end up mostly being pests to the cast. Sure, horror elements are still there but they've been reduced considerably.
