Mike and Rich suck at scripted comedy because it feels too self-conscious and forced. They're funny just shooting the shit or ad libbing off of notes, but whenever they do sketches or guest appearances they seem completely unnatural and tryhard. Mike especially seems to think everything has to be a goofy caricature with 1940s movie producer voice.
It’s so weird how Stewart ever gave MacFarlane the time of day. Let alone worked with him fairly consistently over 20 years. Seth should have been just another unhinged Trekkie to him.
