No one said it's going to be AU. It would be better if they didn't lie about what show is actually about. Hell, they could have done it as season 2, and season 1 being direct adaptation of the books. But nooooooooooo, we need "HA GOTCHA" mentality. Because if they were direct about it, much less people would watch it and only hard-core comic fans would check it out.

It was a pretty interesting twist to the whole story. I’m kinda glad they didn’t follow it note for note; that would’ve just been boring.
im not going to ruin the plot for you but the short answer is none of the potential they're working on goes anywhere because the whodunnit is a total ass pull and the final fight is solved by deus ex machina. noone actually learns anything and noone grows. ask yourself, what is ramona's actual problem in the series so far?
