Yep, some actors are just irreplaceable from some roles. Pirates wouldnt have worked without Depp's fruity portrayal of Jack Sparrow, and Mask wouldnt work without Jim Carrey's cartoony acting.
This reboot will probably be a flop, and I cant wait for Disney to go totally bankrupt. They can only be allowed to rape their legacy for so long
people underestimate the weight of an IP's name and how little the normalgay masses actually look into movie reviews and news outside of what the mainstream media feeds them

This annoyed me. Because here he looked brilliant as Jack again.. but this was AFTER filming for promotion. He was back to being slim here and looked great in the get up. But they filmed the movie when he was knee deep in Heards abuse so looked like shit and his Black Mass weight gain got more gained.

Jerry Bruckheimer wants to bring him back, but he's looking pretty JUSTed these days.
Just give him a thicker beard like a more "pirate legend" look with some grey in his dreadlocks as sparrow and he'd look alright. Maybe the gag could be further in the flick he rips it all of and its just prop to make him older for whatever reason and he's back to his normal self.
Though the CGI they used when he was JUSTed in the last one at the end was horrendous, they cut half his cheeks off.
