Wow who would’ve guessed?
Everything is FOTM now that has an lasting period of two weeks, even that circus meme shit
Because of the internet we'll never have anything that will have a long impact ever again
The contemporary internet is very fast and centralized. In the 2000s memes lasted months, if not years, also there used to be forum culture so that rail roaded people to be more on topic.
True. Yes, there's still people that tend to stick around and obsess over it for a few years, but majority are waiting for the next new big thing to release to draw fanart of for the show's duration and 2-3 weeks after it's over.
>Fionna and Cake
>Digital Circus
>Scott Pilgrim
What's next really? Disney doesn't have fandom hold anymore either now that Owl House and Amphibia are done which was the end of their streak.
Kiff
Hailey
Fiona and Cake
Invincible
Digital Circus
Kiff & Hailey are too episodic to have an actual fandom. They don't even have active coombases like TGAMM
The era of Disney is over
>They don't even have active coombases
But they could.
My main gripe is that Kiff actually makes for a solid comedy cartoon, but most people would rather keep arguing over whether SpongeBob is still good or not. Who gives a shit about a cartoon we all agree has overstayed its welcome? Quit forcing it into relevance all the time and try checking out something original for a change.
Why is this the case though?
Is it really zoomer’s attention span or are we just waiting for the next “big thing”?
Both, along with most fandoms these days being made up of bandwagoners. There were so many people who dropped Adventure Time years ago and were only just now sucking it off once they saw others hyping up Fionna & Cake. Everyone wanted to be a part of the trend week after week, drawing Fionna in her panties, then Prismo x Scarab, then Winter King, then Marceline. You can tell that very few of these posts and fan works came naturally. Same shit for Digital Circus. I'm a Pomni fan, but it's really weird how she took off in r34.
You can especially tell that times are getting slower now because there's been a recent uptick of Family Guy praise. Every popular cartoon is propped up by trend chasers these days. After about a week or two, it's old news and most everyone wipes it from their memory.
On an unrelated note I'm amused by how the Winter King tv show got absolutely buried by AT's Winter King
I want her to step on me
>People not actively discussing something this very minute means it's forgotten
Humans aren't goldfish
Despite what Cinemaphile says, I think this doesn't happen with anime.
It defiantly happens to anime without an ongoing manga
Not every fricking piece of media needs to have a giant obnoxious fanbase that can't stop talking about the thing 8 years after it ended
Its actually normal for you to stop talking about a game after it ends or stop talking about a show when it reaches the final episode
people still talk about the movie
the movie would be flawless with a recast and a few reshoots
>still widely discussed among people outside of the internet
Works on my machine
Y'know I never asked myself if down's syndrome can be visibly diagnosed at infancy..
I desperately need to know who drew this, I’m in love~
Artist is Amiokay
anon I love u
Could I get your thoughts on the show?
I wish someone would make a extensive deep dive into why it sucked like maybe a 40 minute video
I absolutely hated it
As someone who speedran through the Scott Pilgrim comics and movie for the first time this fall, I thought the anime was pretty neat actually. It got a little derailed with the Hollywood shit, but I feel the story they told and the expansion of the 7 Evil Exes fits thematically with the franchise that precedes it. Wallace was maybe too lax about his BFF disappearing, but that's my only real issue with the character writing.
NTA
It basically ruined every single character because they didn't really think through a cohesive story, they just had scene ideas and didn't care if they matched tonally or worked with the ways characters had been established. Kim is a dour b***h for no reason because in this timeline the guy Scott beat up really was a bully with an army, Julie is just evil for no raising when she used to just be bitter that Scott wouldn't look her way, all of the boyfriends just kind of don't care about controlling Ramona anymore, and everything involving time travel is just a huge whiff.
It even name-dropped Columbo before having the lamest "investigation" ever, setting a standard it couldn't possibly reach.
And that's all mostly without getting into everyone's reaction to Scott's death. No one gives a shit to the point it feels like the author themselves hates the character.
wtf are you talking about homie? theres been a Scott Pilgrim thread on this board every day since the show dropped.
occasional zoom lurker here
Never watched a episode and never plan to.
Not speaking for a generation but my personal take
>Watched the movie in 2011
>Played the Arcade game in 2012
>Read the comics softmore year hs 2013
That's three times, three different mediums I been through the Scott Pilgram story. I have absolutely no reason to watch this shit show. Not purposely being callous but got damn, how many times do you expect me to CONSOOM popular product?
>but there's a twist
you can twist your tongue on scotts butthole for all I care. I already seen this story through three times. I didn't ask for this.
I don't understand why someone would go to the trouble of lying about having experienced a piece of media the way you are
Are you ok? Do you need help?
Nta but cope
It's really sad because this was an opportunity to get a whole new audience into this style and world and BLOM and his butt buddy threw it all away for SUBVERSION
>THIS
I felt like half of the exes didn’t get expanded on at all
Ramona didn’t even apologize to the twins who she cheated on which was my biggest gripe
Tbh I don’t think I have enough hate in me to make a 10 minute rant video on why the show sucks
It’s been a month and just like Captain Laserhawk everybody forgot about it
Would anyone even care to watch?
>no name new ip Blue Eyes Samurai has almost 5 million reported views
>Scott Pilgrim only 2
>none of Blue Eyes Samurai's trailers broke a million views, but several of Scott Pilgrim's did
what went wrong
I enjoyed the show but the last ep sucked. Old Scott was a shit villain and reminded me too much of Ralph 2, the musical was off-screen, and Gideon's evil plan never happened and it never will cause the show got canned and his poor ex girlfriends are probably still frozen. Basically everything they hyped up ended with a wet fart.
Oh, and Wallace's magician bf showed up at the end which was cool, but it only reminded me that I wanted to see more of him in the show but got less than in the comic.
>I enjoyed the show
I didnt
>pic
And your taste is terrible and opinion unsolicited. Who would've thunk.
stfu
They literally stated that they didn’t want to leave anything really open for a season 2 only having that tease at the end
Meanwhile Blue Eyes Samurai is a huge hit that just got Season 2 announced
And now people have already forgotten Scott Pilgrim
Universal said they want to expand the Scott Pilgrim IP but now due to the bait and switch consumers have lost faith in the IP and now Scott Pilgrim will be dead for another decade
It’s almost like they should’ve adapted the whole comic instead
>Old Scott was a shit villain and reminded me too much of Ralph 2
That "you are your worst enemy" trope instead of having a real antagonist is getting annoying but I still wish that they had used Nega Scott for something.
I don't like this new Cinemaphile that thinks it's remarkable for people to stop talking about a show a month after it's over. The story is finished, some people enjoyed it, not much more to discuss.
Although we DID have threads the last couple days, so frankly the "I am forgotten" of this thread is pretty forced.
Now VOLTRON, there's a show that went from a high to a low.
Well that's streaming, innit? You get the whole thing in one go, talk about it, then stop talking about it because it's done.
My girls didn't deserve it
Horse's final design was shit.
Debateable.
I saw the first episode and knew at the ending it was going to be femanist garbage and turns out I was right.
Good for you
