One of the best parts about being a guy your age, and frankly there aren't very many so you should really take full advantage of it, is that you can rebuild your entire wardrobe with like 16 items.

>you can rebuild your entire wardrobe with like 16 items
Isn’t this true at any age?
>16 items
>What are the 16 items?
anybody who's seen this movie know if goose gives the answer? 8 shirts, 4 pairs of pants, 2 pairs of shoes, and 2 blazers?
>want to wear shirts
>can't be fricked ironing them
it's over
Throw them in the dryer with no heat option for 5 minutes. Congratulations you ironed them with no effort
is that true
Yes. You're basically knocking the wrinkles out. You can also just damped a sock or piece of cloth lightly, throw it in with the shirts and set it on low heat for 5 minutes. The heat causes the moisture from the sock to mix with the air and enter the shirts. You're basically steaming them a bit the same as ironing
it works for a quick ironing and gets like 80% of wrinkles out but if you're wearing a dress shirt and want it to look nice get a real iron
Why do you need to iron t-shirts? I coat hang them on a rack from the washing machine and there's never wrinkles.
Just get a better dryer
Buy better shirts
Looks like a homosexualy shirt anon, does your nail polish match it? Does your boyfriend think it looks good on you? How does it handle cum stains? You aren’t going to be stuck looking like Monica Lewinsky after a few loads, are ya?
I don't like talking to other guys sometimes
>Tfw no metrosexual friend to help rebuild my wardrobe and make me fashionable
Why go on
I could suggest a few brands/items if you like. Assuming you have a reasonable amount of money to spend, and you're not fat. If you're fat, fix that first.
Sure. I’m 6”2, quite fit and white. All I pretty much wear if I want to go out is some Levi’s jeans and a T-shirt. Don’t really know what else to do.
OK. Your average, not-particularly-smart part of jeans won't work with a stiff suit-type jacket, but a dark pair can go well with a semi-structured or unstructured jacket (I'd go Italian). Might even work just with a regular T-shirt (provided it's not too large, à la Carell's polo shirt above). I have a couple from Boglioli and one from Canali, for example.
Going up a level in formality, add a shirt (if you can afford it, tailor-made Italian is the way to go IMO), a knitted tie and a pocket square, and some reasonably smart shoes (I like Grenson, but I'm a bong, so I don't know how widely available they are internationally). Alternatives to dark jeans would be chinos or some cotton trousers from Incotex (again, Italian). Also, even when buying off the peg, you can often pay a small amount to have the retailer take in a jacket slightly or adjust the length of some trousers to improve the fit.
Polo Ralph Lauren is another good jeans brand btw - bought a light blue pair from there the other day. A couple of other American brands I like:
J.Crew and James Perse (pretty expensive just for T-shirts, but they fit me v well).
Jumpers: I kind of like shawl collars (can be kind of Gatsbyish), and Ralph Lauren is a good bet for those as well. Or a much cheaper/utilitarian option for wool and cashmere: Uniqlo. Insane value courtesy of Japanese efficiency. For everyday, casual shoes, I like the Chuck 70s - a green or yellow pair, for instance, will work with almost anything. Colours in general: blue (mid to navy) and grey are the most versatile, followed maybe by (darkish) green and brown.
Could go on, but those are probably the basics. Luca Avitabile is the guy who made my tailored shirts, if you want to splash out. Or you could go for Kiton, as this anon recommended...
Also - just switching up to a polo shirt (that actually fits) and chinos would be enough to stand out from the vast majority of people who can't be arsed to do even that. And no running-type shoes, unless you're actually running/in the gym.
Completely forgot - a leather jacket is another easy way to improve your look. A brown Hugo Boss would be my recommendation. OK, that's your lot, anon. You're 6'2 - you shouldn't be underselling yourself.
>A brown Hugo Boss would be my recommendation
While they're great $700 - $1000 is a fair bit for most to spend on a jacket.
Ignore the Cinemaphileg telling you to buy suits and blazers. First you need to find your own style. The kind of guy who drives a truck and works blue collar doesn't need suits.
Three things:
>I'm not a gay
>he basically asked for advice on how to look more fashionable in a goose-esque way
>I never mentioned any suits or blazers; an unstructured/semi-structured jacket is not a blazer
just roid up homie if you look like steve carrell just roid and you'dd look like a million bucks
What are the 16 items?
t. moron
He doesn't say but presumably something like:
1 suit: black or grey
1 blazer
1 jacket that can be dressy or casual
1 sweater
2 pairs of pants
3 pair of shoes: smart, casual, in between
4 shirts
2 t-shirts
1 belt
>2 pairs of jeans
>2 pairs of chinos
>2 flannel shirts
>1 pair of shoes
> 9 t shirts of choice
sounds about right.
>9 t shirts of choice
>>1 pair of shoes
RIP your feet, man.
New Balance Sneakers for everyday shit and 2 pairs of shoes (brown and black) for formal/casual shit
even though I actually only wear 1 pair of boots most of the year, I will allow 2.
I have the exact shame shirt as Steve Carell and I wear new balance. Tell me why I should change
How much attention do you receive from women?
Can you quantitatively demonstrate that I will receive more attention from women by wearing a tailored suit?
You could've just said "none" instead of asking that question.
I have the exact same shirt as Ryan Gosling
it's kind of true, but also not
you can buy all the fancy clothes, but if you don't give a shit about them, if you don't feel good enough wearing them, you'll get them stained with some shit or don't iron or tear them and ruin them
the tshirt meta is specifically because it's lowest upkeep, just like "dressing well" takes effort and is attractive
all depends on what you want
this is why people are judged by how they're dressed
