>one of the most famous actors in the world at his peak. >nobody born after his death has ever even heard of him

>one of the most famous actors in the world at his peak
>nobody born after his death has ever even heard of him
Is that just how it goes? Is it impossible for actors and entertainers to leave a lasting legacy despite their life's work being archived and more easily available than ever?

If you think about it acting isn't really a very respectable profession, you play pretend for a job.

charlie chaplin, james dean, marilyn monroe..

plenty of long dead actors who have lasting appeal. you just need to make for a good college dorm poster and bronson didn't

they're more famous for their IKEA posters. In a club I asked a girl to name an Audrey Hepburn film since she had it on her handbag. Same thing happens with band logos.

I've heard of Charles Bronson. The OG Death Wish is one of the greatest movies ever made. So is The Dirty Dozen.

Death Wish is good but not even close to best of all time. His best and most remembered film today is easily OUATITW.

This. I've referenced him multiple times this year in jokes to normies and they've immediately gotten it.

For some reason gen z seems to feel that anything before the internet is useless and garbage. Its a damn a shame, I hope they realize theirs a whole helluva lot of human art and history that made the world what it is today.

      >made the world what it is today.
Have you ever stopped to consider that the current state of the world is what makes them not interested in history?

Having all of human recorded knnowledge and history at their finger tips seems to have given less appreciation for it, yes.
Id rather pity them than think theyre moronic, personally.

I'm not saying it's a good thing or that I agree with it, but I can understand being a young person and looking around at the world and thinking well this fricking sucks what's the point. You'd want to learn history if you had hope of understanding or changing things. They're probably resigned to being the last generation of humans on Earth.

Well then they are moronic. Every generation since the dawn of man has said theyre the last. Some where, of course; but the human race continues and we likely havent even come close to our pinnacle, imo.

i think it depends on if they were in movies that are considered classics, marlon brando for example, most people know who he is because of the godfather, audrey hepburn breakfast at tiffanys etc

In Brando's case it helps that his own life story is fairly interesting, particularily his fall from grace and his involvement with the troubled productions of Apocalypse Now and The Island of Dr Moreau.

They made a movie about him, he's the jail guy who is too epic and based to live in a society

i saw shatner at a con back in april. he was talking about this and how nobody will remember him when he’s gone.

Shatner has a better chance to be remembered than most, simply by virtue of being the first main protagonist of a franchise which stubbornly refuses to die for several generations now.

    >more easily available than ever?
I'd take issue with this. When most homes had cable you'd be more likely to stumble upon one of his movies than than that whatever streaming service you have in the current age to have it. Remember that netflix has fewer movies than the average Blockbuster store, and the normie doesn't torrent.
