Some shows just coast by and get years on the air even though you might not know a single person that watches it. I liked The Middle and I'm almost certain I'm one of the few.
It's definitely like Malcolm in a lot of ways, just nowhere near as good. That's not an insult to The Middle, Malcolm was just perhaps the greatest sitcom ever.
But yeah Brick was pretty much a direct ripoff of Dewey. They knew what they were doing. To say they're nothing alike is moronic. Star Trek is nothing like Malcolm. The Middle is very much like Malcolm.
Brick isn't a ripoff of Dewey at all. The only similarity is they're the youngest kid in the house. Brick was an avid reader and wasn't half as mischievous as Dewey.
Both sitcoms are about a middle class family, but that's it. It's like saying HIMYM is a ripoff of cheers because they're both people in bars.
Brick was an autistic weirdo just like Dewey. It's like comparing Barney from HIMYM to Joey from FRIENDS. The two shows follow a very similar formula and the characters fill the exact same role in their respective show. The show is similar and the characters are similar. They aren't similar by coincidence, they just took a previously successful formula and made minor tweaks. Are they the exact same character? No. But you're simply lying if you claim you don't know one is a copy of the other and I don't know who you think you're fooling.
This show was really comfy. It's nothing spectacular but nice to watch. The best part is the episodic format so you can pick it up at any time. I liked the Raymond cameos I wish there were more scrubs references as well.
It's remembered, but we're just past the point in society where that's the same as being culturally relevant. A 2000's show could reference Three's Company or Facts of Life. But who actually cared about those shows when say, Scrubs or 30 Rock was airing? No one. But those shows referenced old shows. The references kept them alive to some degree. Reference humor has largely died out because it was fricking moronic and lazy so there's nothing keeping shows like Modern Family alive. The truth is that none of these shows were ever that relevant to begin with. Once they end they disappear from culture completely because they were never actually good.
Say what you want about Seinfeld and Friends. They're relevant today without constantly being referenced by 2020's sitcoms.
I always assumed it was for homosexuals so I never tried commiting to an episode. I still don't understand if it was created for gays or for the general public.
Not unusual at all for network sitcoms. I mean how many people remember something like Spin City despite having arguably the most stacked cast on network TV?
I think I've told this on here before but it literately changed my life and ruined one of my best friendships. I binged watched it over two weeks in college super high and realized that if it were like a reverse world where I had to hide being straight in a gay world, that would be really hard and I don't know if I could do it. And my bro never talked about girls or brought any girls to our apartment. He was one of my bestfriends, my roommate, one of my fraternity pledge brothers (and from an old money family, like billion plus status). So I thought he was you know, maybe hiding something and felt bad for my buddy. So he dragged me on a hike like he used to do all the time and I hated, it's pretty gay driving an hour just to walk up mountains in heat. On the way back I asked him if he was gay and I wouldn't judge because I'm one of his best bros and I watch Modern Family. He freaked the frick out and accused me of being gay even though my girlfriend used to sleep over all the time, he's seen me hook up with other girls and trying to hook up with girls including cheating. He yelled at me. Then got quiet the rest of the drive home. That night he left the apartment. Next day when I was in classes or at the beach or something I forgot but his entire room was packed up. His phone was disconnected, his facebook and instagram deactivated. None of our bros knew what he was doing. He stopped talking to everyone. It's a bummer because being friends with him was fun and he had a ton of connections that would have helped me in my adult life. Frick this show for teaching me to be tolerant and have empathy.
you're still going on about it anon, so it must have had some impact on your feeble mind.
a clips was recommended to me on YouTube
Many initially popular media ends up forgotten. How many zoomers know pic related even exists?
Murphy Brown was an alright show, and it's bizarre to go back and see how hot Candice Bergen was when she was young(WAY before MB).
So it's the Avatar of television?
It was just a bad Arrested Development rip off
That's like saying arby's has zero cultural impact.
It's just consumable slop.
um is it actually entertaining? i think my family liked it at some point

Is this some bizarro world timeline version where Francis is a girl?
this show is nothing like Malcolm in the Middle. The Heck's weren't even half as dysfunctional as Malcolm's

they look identical though

Brick is supposed to be an autistic savant. Where Dewey was a moron at first who the writers then changed into a 2nd Malcolm.

Agreed. I also thought Sue was adorable, but I like big beaks on girls.
i thought that was some AI mix up of Malcom in the middle
My sister watches this and it's OK. I could put it on in the background if I was doing something else.
>Subtract Malcom
>gender swap Francis
> the Middle.
I'm still mad at the israelitefro kid Nolan for being a piece of shit when he was like 14 at church.
and Malcom doesn't exist

It was a pretty good show. It made the modern commercial world palpable.
*palletable
I mean i could stomach it.

Are they parodying the nymphomaniac posters
It was a key pillar of the homosexual agenda. Look around at teh world today. It worked.

When does postmodern family come out?
