That whole "Luffy is Bralizilan/Zoro is Japanese etc." thing was never about ethnicities to begin with. It was primarily about national/cultural stereotypes, Luffy is Brazilian because he loves parties, Franky is American because he loves Cola, Robin was Russian because she's a spy lady.
It will be unbelievably cringe. At first I thought I'd watch it just to see the trainwreck, but the Whedonesque humor in the trailer made me realize I won't be able to finish a single episode. The funniest thing is that contrary to stuff like ATLA or Witcher, the author seems to be determined to go down with the ship, hyping it up and claiming he oversaw everything, taking full responsibility for the project. That Roger looks great btw.

Anime and manga art is value of it's own, moving to live kills main point.

magazines work authors to the bone, literally until they die, on a single work
american comics swap out authors whenever they think it will be profitable; since comics haven't been profitable for the last decade (at least), there haven't been many notable runs in any major publisher
western comics have greater variance in quality but the greatest western comics far exceed the best japanese ones

of all the animes they could adapt Netflix picked the most wacky and cartoonish where every other character is 5+ meters tall, bravo
It will suck but will be successful because the one piece audience apparently enjoys consuming garbage.
I think it has the potential to be 7/10, but will likely be 4/10, but there's a very real possibility of it being 1/10.
Also will probably enjoy the fan edits that come from this.
