If you ever find yourself wanting to get caught up, and you want to watch the show instead of read it, I'd recommend looking up One Pace. It's a fan edit project that's condensing it down into something a bit more faithful to the manga, and as the name would imply, speeds up the pace considerably. I probably would have never caught up with the anime if it weren't for that.

To be fair, Mononoke was indeed a single cour, so 12 or 13 episodes, though anime episodes are like 23 minutes long. By the way, there is a second season of Mononoke planned.
This actually looks interesting, effects-wise. It takes it in such a Surreal direction it ends up looking better than most of the basic b***h VFX we see these days. This is doubly funny for me, because this comes right after Marvel totally bungled and then had to shuffle shit around in the actual comics for Mrs. Marvel because they thought they couldn't realize stretchy limbs in a live action context, yet here we are not but a year later. Kek.
Of course they do. They've also obviously been told to spam "kino" when talking about this show and they clearly have no fricking clue what it's supposed to mean.
I'm genuinely curious to see how this does in Japan. One Piece being as popular as it is in that country, I wonder if it taking off there alone would be enough to carry it on for further seasons. I doubt that it would get that far in, but I'm genuinely curious to see how it would handle guys like Moria, Ivankov, White Beard, Kaido, Doflamingo, Big Mom, etc in live action.
And that's honestly going to be the fun of it. We do NOT need a 1:1 beat of animated characters. We need a show that portrays the characters interesting traits but in a more grounded way. As we watch we should be thinking "woah this version of (x) reminds me of the anime but is fully realized in this more somber world." then next season hype will be built around stuff like "Imagine Ace in the OPN (One Piece Netflix) world."
Honestly for this to truly reach the level of the manga/anime it needs to change the plot in interesting but faithful ways. Like imagine if Vivi STAYS on the crew. We would literally be like... "holy shit this is an alternate interpretation where anything goes"
Completely anecdotal, but my Japanese friends are more positive about it across the board than my American friends. Biggest issues among men and women I'm seeing is that Nami's breasts are too small, and among those who can speak English that some of the dialogue feels a little out of character at points in the trailer.
I have genuinely no idea how anyone watches the anime. The comic is great, though. I'm more morbidly interested than anything but there are some good casting choices here and there and it doesn't look awful. The fight scenes we've seen feel pretty whimsical and kung-fu-like, but there's a fine line there between silly and fun and just plain stupid looking.
The anime is overall slow as balls, even back in the beginning when they did 3~ chapters an episode, but that era also included full blown filler arcs. If you skip those the anime is OK, barely, until Ennis Lobby starts, that's when the fillers and 5 minute RECAP started, and the actual episode was at most 15-17 minutes, but REACTIONFACE(S).JPG.AVI went into full effect. You might keep with the anime until EL finishes just for the sake of it, but it only gets worse from then on, eventually abandoning major filler arcs and just padding the ever loving frick out of episodes to reach a 1:1 ratio, sometimes even less. It's why so much of the fights look like over done shit even in wano. One pace can help, but it can't fix everything because now you're going to have jarring music cuts as well.
>but I'm genuinely curious to see how it would handle guys like Moria, Ivankov, White Beard, Kaido, Doflamingo, Big Mom, etc in live action.
They will have accurate costumes but be regular human sized going by what we've seen so far
If they get a second season I’m just hoping they don’t frick up Mr. 2 Bon Clay. It feels like it would be really easy for some Netflix troony to complete miss the point of his character

I will point out Oda did come out and confirm Yamato being a larping tomboy, even after twitterites vocally proclaiming her to be trans for like 2-3 years.

I thought it was funny that people got so hung up about Yamato when Kiku is right there. I guess the fact that Kiku doesn’t look like an anime waifu rainbow trainwreck design like Yamato and is instead pretty bland is the reason.

Yeah, Kiku has w a y more evidence for the trans shit, with the "woman at heart" line and shit, but something I think it could be is that Kiku "passes", people could believe Kiku is a girl, but Yamato's design s c r e a m s girl, what with the massive fricking breasts, and Yamato being considered male regardless of her looks is a victory for the self-id shit, that people don't need to pass, and their gender is what tbey say it is.
It’s not going to do poorly. Is it going to be good? That’s debatable, but OP is the highest selling manga of all time. It’s going to have a lot of eyes on it.
It's Netflix so they're hiding their propaganda and ESG from the trailers. You're going to watch the first episode and get hit with a black lady lecturing the main character about white people being bad. Every episode will have woke elements to it.
i''ve seen oda sign down some wild shit to be done to his product man, as long as it profits (and that's ok)

That is my main fear, this is the same studio that made COWBOY BEBOP live action and that shit was unwatchable and filled with propaganda.

>When they first started announcing the main cast on twitter, the name of the actors included their moronic pronouns for some reason.
isn't that automatic for netflix these days?
No they aren't.... they're a stand in for any group thats been subjugated, which is every group in history, that's why they aren't human, it's like zootopia, it supposed to be universal.
Otohime was the Martin Luther King stand in as well. even gets shot lol.
Arlong was also justified in his thinking due to experiencing oppression first hand, meanwhile Hody was the BLM cuck who got all his takes from fishman Twitter.

I think they'll probably try to be more ""subtle"", by using Fish-men as a stand in for blacks (hence Arlong being black), and humans as white people, so it would be fish woman (of course played by a blacktress)
They're not, all they are is a tool to talk about discrimination, and subjugation, something that's timeless, and has happened everywhere, and to every people, that's the point of them not being human, it's the same reason the characters in zootopia aren't human. The reason everyone says "it's black people" is because in America, and to lesser extent the rest of the west, it's the thing we constantly hear about, people outside of the west probably look at it, and see similarities between it, and historical subjugation/discrimination of a group that lives in their country/are of the world, so I don't think a Japanese man would be hung up on some American shit.

seconded. If you watch anything one piece it'd obvious to anyone you're a raging autist. Such a butt ugly animation style but fitting for the weeb trash that it is
I read in a leak the series starts with Rogera execution which according to the trailers seem to be true and it starts with kid Smoker. Can anyone confirm?
>not ending it with a Loguetown episode
This was idiotic, and it's going to take away precious time from Alabasta, which means Dorry and Broggy or Drum get cut down hard
1 EP Laboon and Whiskey Peak
2 EP Little Garden
2 EP Drum Island
3 EP Alabasta
That's 8. And Loguetown is now cutting into one of those, so I wouldn't be surprised if they cut Little Garden
Yeah I don't care much about Wapol either but to me he is on the same level as Don of being just there and act evil. Yet Wapol got the bigger impact since he acutally appears in choopers backstory for being a dick therefore making it more enjoyable to watch him getting beat up by luffy. Either way I find that drum island still got better moments than Baratie, including Choopers backstory, Luffys struggle to climb to the mountain with his unconscious crew members and the iconic ending of this arc with the cheery flower explosion. Baratie is a A at best maybe but I still find Drum island to be miles better.
I guess it's up to personal preference then. Chopper's backstory starting and ending just as Luffy punched Wapol was indeed kino but him just running around afterwards and acting like a total goof was not for me. On the other hand, Luffy vs. Don Krieg is kino of the highest order plus it ties with Gin and Sanji too.
I am not so sure about the gore. How is this going to deal with the fake outs? Buggy didn't feel whiny/b***h but still a complete nutjob chemist. I do feel like a fair bit of the side characters cast were shit, too old and ugly mostly. It's going to be horribly noticeable if this gets more seasons and some of them don't reappear for 5-10 years and somehow age that in a mere 6 months. I don't like the truncation, but I am okay with some of the additions. Roger sucked. But maybe they're aiming to lean into how Roger isn't always stoic and but an idiot boffin. Grap shouldn't really be there, he also wouldn't react like this, he knows Roger is here to basically suicide.
He just doesn't feel like they're basically friends who tussle on occasion due to occupational responsibilities. He's just about to go and help Rogers NotWife and hide his kid after all.
I should say that they laid it on a bit thick that the gomu fruit nika really calls out to people, feeding into the whole zoan-will thing why else would you randomly pick that box and then eat what looked like a foul tasting plastic fruit.
Episode 3 was pretty bad, the Kuro speed scene was super cringe, same with the girl hissing at Usopp lmao
Syrup village has always sucked though not to give an excuse.
Choreography in the bar fight of ep1 was fun though, hope that becomes the standard and not just ep1 bonus. Morgans axe too smol, and not an egotistical butthole. 7 days not a month. Luffy's accent is realllllly thick. The marine costumes do look cheap, like that bad cosplay/jap TV cheap, they don't look like they'd hold up tp actual use over years of being worn.
>but why re there so many Black folk?
This is maybe the sixth time I predicted something painfully obvious and immediately got shouted down by shills telling me I was stupid to think that and they would never do that. I'm going to have to start screenshotting it, it seems to be the greatest predictor I'm correct.
MCU: >They're clearly replacing all the male characters with female versions and raceswaps, and their end goal is a predominantly female Young Avengers.
Shills: >That's moronic, you're a moron afraid of women! Your precious white men aren't being replaced, BIGOT! One character from Young Avengers has been introduced, they're not stupid enough to replace all of their white male characters.
And I was 100% right.
D&D: >I guarantee you they're setting up a romance sub-plot between Sophia and the young nog and I'd bet money all of these characters are raceswaps mandated by some dipshit producer or something.
Shills: >You're stupid! This movie will be 100% apolitical, I know I saw the script, there is zero romance in it, no relationships and these are all original characters not raceswaps!
Again, I was 100% right. Movie literally ends with Sophia agreeing to date the nog and when the artbook dropped it revealed every single character was originally white.
One Piece: >They're filming this in South Africa to justify intentionally making half the cast and virtually all of the extras black. >Shills: You're moronic! It's going to be 100% accurate to the characters as Oda described! You'll see, just give it a CHANCE! And this is from the beginning of the series, Nami didn't have huge breasts pre-timeskip! What? Alabasta? ...Shut the frick up!
Never give these "people" the benefit of the doubt. Ever. It's always worse than your most horrible imagining.
They put black people in One Piece? Netflix has gone too far this time. Be sure to join my YouTube channel for my video series on how they fit into the nefarious replacement plot.
The whole chunni naked sword autist thing kinda works for helmeppo since his thing becomes swords later. Just don't like how it was changed to be zoro getting his shit back without the iconic helmeppo gun standoff.
>nami is already on crowd control duty in ep1 while the guys fight prime antagonists
I should say there's a distinct lack of corruption with morgan. Where's his abuse of station/rank that gets him removed and is part of the impetus for helmeppo to clean up his fricking act? Guy has a few posters of himself, but doesn't go to the lengths he needs to, to get imprisoned and 'betrayed' by his own fricking base.
They should've gotten. big motherfricker to play Arlong. Like a former wrestler or basketball player. He was way more imposing in the manga and the anime.
Americans are raised to be self-absorbed narcissists from the moment they are born. They think everything is about them, their country, and history. It's no wonder they immediately project their own history on Oda doing a very generic case study of racism.

All of these are outright false or contestable, but I am not interested in beating a dead horse. >We rule you forever and ever and there's nothing you can do about it
No empire or civilisation lasts forever. They all decline or are replaced. The US has been a power for a mere 80 years and is already in decline. >you can cry on Cinemaphile (because of freedom that we also created btw) about muh israelites so shut the frick up
I'm not crying, I'm describing you. Given your very angry emotional response, it's clear my description was accurate.
>make a big deal about a mere map to the grand line (hey just go up the frick off rape tunnel called reverse mountain) >garp is some how getting this intel >and he's in EB for some reason? attempting to visit luffy?
Jesus they murder people way more blatantly, especially zoro, many a sword swing at mooks is at neck level. This ain't 'a bandage can fix it' level. What the frick is going to happen when zoro spams oni giri? Entire room bisected at the waist?
Jesus frick what. Garp. In east blue. Revealing he's Luffy's gramps. And he ALREADY has the idiots under his tutelage. What the frick. They're already set up Garps allegiances are a mixed bag.

And no one reacts to it, that sucks. WE're not going to get the whole 'what in the frick is your linage' thing. But I guess it does set up 'why' Luffy slaps (most) of EB, he's flat out got pedigree and magic.
Garp Was actually prominent in the EB saga already, just in the Manga cover stories that were not in the anime.
If anything it's awesome of the LA to cover the cover stories even the anime didn't animate
First episode goes right into axe-hand morgan arc, then buggy, syrup island, baratie, and not sure what's after that but i assume it ends with arlong. they also have flashbacks throughout to show each strawhat's backstory (except nami obviously)
The whole mihawk event is shit. It doesn't show that mihawk sees something in zoro when he uses 3000 worlds. Presumably that was meant to be his first use of unconscious CoC or even ACoC, and it's what sparked mihawks interest in him. Just showing up for a few minute duel and fricking off after winning is a giant 'what'. It's missing that 'he sees something absurd (endgame) in this kid(s)'. This for well over a decade was one of the 'what (how) in the frick did mihawk see in them' moments.
So what happened to the rumors of Zoro's actor, mackenyu arata, impregnating a milf when he was 14 years old? >the 19-year old ‘Chihayafuru’ star is hiding an illegitimate child >The girl is supposed to be 5 years old already, living with her mother in Los Angeles >That would mean Mackenyu was only 14 when the child was born >According to the article, mother of the child (refered to as Y-san) is a married Japanese woman and was friend of the family >She is in her late 30s/early 40s. “Friday” found out that the in 2013, Y-san was prosecuted for her sexual intercourse with a child below 14-years old. >The trial was suspended, as Mackenyu denied the act was against his will >as Mackenyu denied the act was against his will

actually funny
I don't feel bad for people who eat up this slop and pretend it's good. It's slop, always was going to be, always will be.
Luffy is an overacting idiot. Nami's voice sounds like she's trying hard to not be a typical valley girl, Zoro is low energy as frick, Usopp is just kind of there, and Sanji somehow is the only guy who is close to being right for the role, but he ain't Franco-German.
No shit, you literally have to be missing brain cells, not scowling like a moronic teenager who thinks he's in a Western. Luffy in reality would be an actual autist who doesn't understand simple shit.
Luffy has no emotional intelligence. He's literally the epidemy of the Shounen trope to the point where he's the poster boy of it. Anything else is just interpretation cope.

6 Episodes in
EP 1 - Ok
EP 2 - KINO
EP 3 and 4 - Mediocre
EP 5 - Ok
EP 6- Pretty good
The episodic format of early one piece stories is really hurting the show
Because there's no clear narrative in the East Blue arc. It's mostly anthological so in live action it shifts jarringly from location to location. It's going to be much better if they get a S2 since the focus is on Alabasta and Drum
Watched the first two eps. When does this get better. Everything felt like a big budget amateur film. The important scenes lacked any impact. The actings mostly shallow and bland esp Luffy and Zoro. It felt also claustrophobic with so many up close and medium range shots that you didnt feel like the characters are actually living in their unique world. Some scenes also shot very weirdly and just like I said, amateurish. Scripts very forced and surface level but that's manga adaptation for you.
I tried to get into it but it just dull. The conversation between Buggy and Luffy in the first and second 'torture' basically just them repeating the same thing over and over. The part where Zoro and Nami were imprisoned was basically pointless, and if that was supposed to show how Zoro trusted Luffy then it felt unearned especially when they portraying him as this super cold lone wolf guy who only knew Luffy for like one or two days. The final fight was anticlimactic. What was that chop chop attack for anyway, the knives suddenly disappeared. No tension or anything that would grip your excitement.
This Garp is way too fricking serious. You don't get his fun smart ass antics at all. You only his get traitorous nature during the end. He just lacks that fun idiotic but musclehead fun.
Yeah, it's almost as if the tards who take the memeposts about One Piece being a totally serious show that deals with multiple real world issues are just tards shitposting about why their cartoon is totally not a cartoon and should be taken as seriously as other cartoons, if not more.
Also, nami stabbing herself sucked. It's weak. The gore is lacking compared to what came before. Luffy listened to too much, etc etc. Anime >>> manga >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> western live action. The scene fails.
do you shills get paid by the post?
Of course they do. They've also obviously been told to spam "kino" when talking about this show and they clearly have no fricking clue what it's supposed to mean.

Kek.
seethe and cope, it's kino and you can't do frick all about it, get back in the cuck closet
embarrassing same gay
The absolute irony. Don't you have more threads to make?
they get paid by replies
Of course I'm paid for that. Also I'm brown and my IQ is 2 digits.
They pay me 50 dollars for each reply. Thank you for helping me
KINO
low IQ third-worlders are going to love this

Low IQ Americans will think talking shit about it online from their mother's basement makes them big brain manly men.

That looks ridiculous. Reason #22342341488 that this stuff should stay animated.
not even part of the show, its just something the cast got Oda as a present, stop being contrarian you goof
"holy shit this is an alternate interpretation where anything goes"
obvious shillposter
>Biggest issues among men and women I'm seeing is that Nami's breasts are too small
They were small in the early days so that fits.
Every single fricking thread. I swear you homosexuals are bots. Do you think she's going to magically grow breasts in her mid thirties?
No? She looks like East Blue Nami and the show will be cancelled long before the time skip. I don't see what the problem is
screenshotted this. i'm going to post it everytime a new season is greenlit
You're a bigger clown than Buggy if you think this show will last 7+ seasons
Oda specifically noted Shaolin Soccer as the movie that convinced him a live action adaptation was possible
I was manga only for 15 years. I started the anime two months ago for the live action and I would suggest One Pace, its legit.
We could plausibly see Whitebeard as early as Season 2. Ace talks about him in Alabasta, and he shows up on page between Alabasta and Jaya
I doubt they show him. It’s easier to cast someone later on than to cast the, for one scene only not to show up again for a few seasons.
>but I'm genuinely curious to see how it would handle guys like Moria, Ivankov, White Beard, Kaido, Doflamingo, Big Mom, etc in live action.
They will have accurate costumes but be regular human sized going by what we've seen so far
Ivankov is gonna be a shitshow if they ever reach him.
If they get a second season I’m just hoping they don’t frick up Mr. 2 Bon Clay. It feels like it would be really easy for some Netflix troony to complete miss the point of his character
I'm sure Oda would put his foot down on that unlike the Bebop shitshow with Gren. Then again Koby is being played by a troony so who knows.
I don't think you understand how mangaka react to live action adaptations of their manga. They fricking love it more often than not.
Odas been upfront in regards to he's been the guy keeping shit in line with his story and the fact he's the one who picked the cast, he probably saw the heat cowboy bebop/death note got.
Honestly, this is what confirms to me Oda was behind it all. This guy was only ever a one off line and a shitty fricking doodle but they got him exactly.
holy shit I AM SO FRICKING SICK OF PEOPLE SPINNING AROUND IN SWORD FIGHTS. IT LOOKS SO FRICKING STUPID. YOU ARE NOT DANCING, YOU ARE FIGHTING FOR YOUR FRICKING LIFE WITH DEADLY WEAPONS. NOBODY FRICKING SPINS AROUND LIKE A FUKCING FAIRY IN A REAL FRICKING FIGHT.
No one asked
don't care
Blame wuxia
Sword fights in this series are shit anyway. Spinning sounds like a nice addition because typically it's "clash, named attack initial pose, named attack finish pose" on repeat until someone wins. How are they going to handle tornado etc.
They can't do real fight choreography anymore because people get hurt and then the studios get sued.
awful
I have neve read the manga and this looks mediocre.
There was a leak of the script years ago, Seven was always in the plan for it as a means to visibly justify Zoro's arrest.
What the frick they didnt hire a fricking swords master or what
>sword fights
>in one piece
>ever having logical choreography
First time?
Namis family is now black, so netflix still got their way
I knew nojiko was now nigjiko, but is Bell-mère black too?
Nope, redhead. Genna Galloway
Ah, well that's good I guess.
>adopted girl's adopted sister isn't the same race as her
I dunno I think it's cute.
It’s just future proofing for Koby still looking like a cute twink after the time skip
Lots of shitty movies. Spin off manga. Games. etc get the 'I'm excited for X!, please come watch/play/read it with me!' I assume there's non-disparage clauses in everyones contracts. Some of the other merch is all in the publishers hands though.
The anime looks ridiculous too
Whose dendenmushi is that supposed to be?
Oda's. It's not from the show it's just a promo video where one of the actors gifts Oda a snail
Are the Den Den Mushi in the show gonna be CGI or Jim Henson shit like this one?
Hopefully a mix of both, like most movie/show creatures would be in a better world.
Holy shit the snails ARE props!
I couldn't figure out if they were anamatronics or surprisingly convincing CGI
I honestly can't see normies liking this
Nah, it has that power rangers charm and db colourful shows are getting popular since people get depressed for the New World
Also hot actors actresses
Even if it's unironically good, both Cinemaphile and Cinemaphile """"""true fans"""""" will consistently deny it.
or, third option, its going to be shilled non-stop no matter what for a few months by paid marketers.
>shills shills shills
Why do people always think that here even with Cinemaphile always being wrong about the success of movies and shows?
If this does poorly, it'll literally be on Oda
It’s not going to do poorly. Is it going to be good? That’s debatable, but OP is the highest selling manga of all time. It’s going to have a lot of eyes on it.
From what I've seen of One Piece the anime and manga. They should have attempted a Dick Tracy kind of makeup for the villains.
If only.
It's Netflix so they're hiding their propaganda and ESG from the trailers. You're going to watch the first episode and get hit with a black lady lecturing the main character about white people being bad. Every episode will have woke elements to it.
Oda wouldn't sign off on some shit like that.
i''ve seen oda sign down some wild shit to be done to his product man, as long as it profits (and that's ok)
That is my main fear, this is the same studio that made COWBOY BEBOP live action and that shit was unwatchable and filled with propaganda.
When they first started announcing the main cast on twitter, the name of the actors included their moronic pronouns for some reason.
>When they first started announcing the main cast on twitter, the name of the actors included their moronic pronouns for some reason.
isn't that automatic for netflix these days?
Imagine being such a snowflake that you seethe with rage whenever you encounter a pronoun
>jeff ward
my homie
>kobys being played by a troony
Atleast Garp looks superb
....wait... is Buggy supposed to be a chad?
always was
Arlong being black is literally a non issue. He's a loud mouth shark so it fits
Fishmen are supposed to be stand ins for Blacks even in the Manga. Though Arlong is not a sorry sack of shit, he's rather a Malcolm X
No they aren't.... they're a stand in for any group thats been subjugated, which is every group in history, that's why they aren't human, it's like zootopia, it supposed to be universal.
yes they are, oda confirmed years ago fishman island is basically africa.
Source? Sbs, or section of the wiki?
Fisher Tiger is more of the Malcom X type, all of his ex-subordinates went down different paths
Otohime was the Martin Luther King stand in as well. even gets shot lol.
Arlong was also justified in his thinking due to experiencing oppression first hand, meanwhile Hody was the BLM cuck who got all his takes from fishman Twitter.
>nips in the 90s gave a shit about american Black folk
Americans are genuinely moronic
moron.
I'm sick of you moronic secondaries in these threads.
>Koby and Helmeppo are played by gays
Wow, it's like fujo's dream come true.
Buggy is too hot
Nojiko is black. I wonder if Netflix told him they had a quota to fill and he reluctantly chose her to be black instead of the other characters
I think they'll probably try to be more ""subtle"", by using Fish-men as a stand in for blacks (hence Arlong being black), and humans as white people, so it would be fish woman (of course played by a blacktress)
They're literally black in the manga though, the entire fishman meme is about civil rights and segregation. How the frick did this go over your head
Post the manga panel where Oda has note saying "this is about black people"
Just ignore the nogs man. They literally think Oda thought the fact that they couldn't swim meant he was kind enough to make them fishpeople.
speedreader with the pika pika no mi over here
that's my pirate king!! >:3
Cinemaphile WILL apologize
Inaki is the worst part of the show though
Hes as cringy as cartoon luffy, I don't see the problem, just switch to the jap dub.
We all know what Oda looks like why does he hide his face like an autist?
Real oda died in that earthquake
Proof?
It works considering he wasn't recognized at the premiere.
Because he has to be protected, there are too many crazy fans who could kill him
Weird to think Oda was drawing Luffy before inaki was born
goofy kino absurdism
what time release
3am EST. Tomorrow is going to be nothing but One Piece threads.
Why can't these fricking pajeets frick off to scam an old lady or something instead of shilling this garbage?
Oda saved israelitellywood and israeliteflix
kneel mutts
So when does this shit come out? I thought it was in August but still don't see a torrent for it.
Today bro
Non-whites are going to go completely insane over this
So, the main audience?
if you watched it you should have a nice day
seconded. If you watch anything one piece it'd obvious to anyone you're a raging autist. Such a butt ugly animation style but fitting for the weeb trash that it is
So who's going to be the teaser for next season, Smoker or Crocodile? I'm figuring Smoker since they'd be starting with Loguetown.
>i want more hollywood animeslop
kys
The easiest would be Croc. You don’t even need to cast him. Just show the hook.
I read in a leak the series starts with Rogera execution which according to the trailers seem to be true and it starts with kid Smoker. Can anyone confirm?
There’s apparently a bunch of character cameos in the roger scene.
it's smoker
>not ending it with a Loguetown episode
This was idiotic, and it's going to take away precious time from Alabasta, which means Dorry and Broggy or Drum get cut down hard
Alabasta can be done in two or three episodes. A lot of the arc is them running around the desert or being held hostage.
1 EP Laboon and Whiskey Peak
2 EP Little Garden
2 EP Drum Island
3 EP Alabasta
That's 8. And Loguetown is now cutting into one of those, so I wouldn't be surprised if they cut Little Garden
whose streaming the episode for the bois?
Showrunners Arc tier list.
Personally, putting bootleg Alabasta in the same rank as Alabasta is insane, but whatever
>fishman island is at the bottom
>Wano in the middle
Based list.
>Foxy enjoyer
Shit maybe this show does have hope
Wano not being anywhere near A and S is a good list for me.
Especially that Baratie is S.
>Baratie S+ but drum island A
???
Not agreeing with his tier list but Baratie has Don Krieg and Gin, both excellent antagonists/villains while Drum has... Wapol and his two goons.
>Davy Back Fight in S+
my fricking homie
Frick off homosexuals, Foxy was the cringiest filler arc ever, the only good thing about it is that it was short.
Thriller Bark was also mid.
Have you ever considered that you might be cringe?
I want to creampie Emily Rudd 4000 times a day
Me too
I don't want to listen to it in english. My brain can only handle the actual VAs.
>One Piece live action
>Niggflix
Oh and the named attacks don't have the oomph they need. It's missing that spark.
React how?
He just doesn't feel like they're basically friends who tussle on occasion due to occupational responsibilities. He's just about to go and help Rogers NotWife and hide his kid after all.
You can headcanon that he's putting up a facade for the public. Remember that nobody is supposed to know that him and Roja were basically pals.
I should say that they laid it on a bit thick that the gomu fruit nika really calls out to people, feeding into the whole zoan-will thing why else would you randomly pick that box and then eat what looked like a foul tasting plastic fruit.
Did my drunk ass frick the nested spoiler?
Give me a better casting for chopper
Give him a fursuit and he's practically the same
good morning sirs how is the weather in mumbai?
Episode 3 was pretty bad, the Kuro speed scene was super cringe, same with the girl hissing at Usopp lmao
Syrup village has always sucked though not to give an excuse.
Choreography in the bar fight of ep1 was fun though, hope that becomes the standard and not just ep1 bonus. Morgans axe too smol, and not an egotistical butthole. 7 days not a month. Luffy's accent is realllllly thick. The marine costumes do look cheap, like that bad cosplay/jap TV cheap, they don't look like they'd hold up tp actual use over years of being worn.
the marine clothes look so cheap especially the hats
i like the little details like binks sake in the background
but why re there so many Black folk?
showrunner is black.
>but why re there so many Black folk?
This is maybe the sixth time I predicted something painfully obvious and immediately got shouted down by shills telling me I was stupid to think that and they would never do that. I'm going to have to start screenshotting it, it seems to be the greatest predictor I'm correct.
MCU:
>They're clearly replacing all the male characters with female versions and raceswaps, and their end goal is a predominantly female Young Avengers.
Shills:
>That's moronic, you're a moron afraid of women! Your precious white men aren't being replaced, BIGOT! One character from Young Avengers has been introduced, they're not stupid enough to replace all of their white male characters.
And I was 100% right.
D&D:
>I guarantee you they're setting up a romance sub-plot between Sophia and the young nog and I'd bet money all of these characters are raceswaps mandated by some dipshit producer or something.
Shills:
>You're stupid!
One Piece:
>They're filming this in South Africa to justify intentionally making half the cast and virtually all of the extras black.
Have sex
let's see if they're ballsy enough to blackwash a major non usopp character
They'll do anything to put blacks in. Anyone saying otherwise is a lying shill, this is a black man according to some.
You've never seen a black person irl.
>There are no black pirates
>Better question is, why few Asians?
I thought it was weird that they made Gin a black guy. I thought they'd go asian.
The showrunner's black. Dude's just straight up making everything that isn't white black.
Just ring your bell anon. You'll feel better afterwards.
So Gin DOES show up?
For one scene. Don Krieg's armada gets BTFO by Mihawk in a separate scene and later on Gin shows up begging for food
Yes, at the Baratie.
They put black people in One Piece? Netflix has gone too far this time. Be sure to join my YouTube channel for my video series on how they fit into the nefarious replacement plot.
Black people exist to be cut down by Zoro
But Zoro isn't even white, who could be more racist than a white ma-
Oh.
Oh no.
This feels kind of like a tim burton film at times.
The whole chunni naked sword autist thing kinda works for helmeppo since his thing becomes swords later. Just don't like how it was changed to be zoro getting his shit back without the iconic helmeppo gun standoff.
>nami is already on crowd control duty in ep1 while the guys fight prime antagonists
helmeppo even ends up looking like a chuuni moron
I should say there's a distinct lack of corruption with morgan. Where's his abuse of station/rank that gets him removed and is part of the impetus for helmeppo to clean up his fricking act? Guy has a few posters of himself, but doesn't go to the lengths he needs to, to get imprisoned and 'betrayed' by his own fricking base.
Adaptations in 2010+ expect you to know the source material
They should've gotten. big motherfricker to play Arlong. Like a former wrestler or basketball player. He was way more imposing in the manga and the anime.
I'll torrent and seed it, not watching it tho
Americans are raised to be self-absorbed narcissists from the moment they are born. They think everything is about them, their country, and history. It's no wonder they immediately project their own history on Oda doing a very generic case study of racism.
we saved the world twice (ww1 and ww2) created the internet, computer, electricity, airplane, basically the entertainment industry and this website.
We rule you forever and ever and there's nothing you can do about it
you can cry on Cinemaphile (because of freedom that we also created btw) about muh israelites so shut the frick up
>we saved the world twice (ww1 and ww2) created the internet, computer, electricity, airplane, basically the entertainment industry and this website.
This sort of greentexting debatelord style is so cringe
It makes it easier for me to respond to each of your points.
>make a big deal about a mere map to the grand line (hey just go up the frick off rape tunnel called reverse mountain)
>garp is some how getting this intel
>and he's in EB for some reason? attempting to visit luffy?
Jesus they murder people way more blatantly, especially zoro, many a sword swing at mooks is at neck level. This ain't 'a bandage can fix it' level. What the frick is going to happen when zoro spams oni giri? Entire room bisected at the waist?
Jesus frick what. Garp. In east blue. Revealing he's Luffy's gramps. And he ALREADY has the idiots under his tutelage. What the frick. They're already set up Garps allegiances are a mixed bag.
Shifts Koby's 'No' to here. Garps not a fricking goof ball.
And no one reacts to it, that sucks. WE're not going to get the whole 'what in the frick is your linage' thing. But I guess it does set up 'why' Luffy slaps (most) of EB, he's flat out got pedigree and magic.
try again, in english
Garp Was actually prominent in the EB saga already, just in the Manga cover stories that were not in the anime.
If anything it's awesome of the LA to cover the cover stories even the anime didn't animate
coby's cover story is on the anime
Nami.

>they don't know oda has always been a westaboo
oh no no no no
I haven't watched it, which arcs did they adapt?
First episode goes right into axe-hand morgan arc, then buggy, syrup island, baratie, and not sure what's after that but i assume it ends with arlong. they also have flashbacks throughout to show each strawhat's backstory (except nami obviously)
wait, nami's backstory is tied-up with arlong park arc, it doesn't make sense to have them defeat arlong without showing nami's backstory
Christ this shit all looks so fricking stupid. Does it honestly look good if you're familiar with the source material?
https://aramajapan.com/featured/is-19-year-old-mackenyu-a-father-of-a-5-year-old/61549/
So what happened to the rumors of Zoro's actor, mackenyu arata, impregnating a milf when he was 14 years old?
>the 19-year old ‘Chihayafuru’ star is hiding an illegitimate child
>The girl is supposed to be 5 years old already, living with her mother in Los Angeles
>That would mean Mackenyu was only 14 when the child was born
>According to the article, mother of the child (refered to as Y-san) is a married Japanese woman and was friend of the family
>She is in her late 30s/early 40s. “Friday” found out that the in 2013, Y-san was prosecuted for her sexual intercourse with a child below 14-years old.
>The trial was suspended, as Mackenyu denied the act was against his will
>as Mackenyu denied the act was against his will
>Cast a black guy as Arlong
>his scenes have a hip hop beat in the background
kek
I've felt embarrassed to be a One Piece fan before, but the positive reception to this garbage makes me feel like I've entered the clown dimension.
Why are Americans so stupid? Japanese fans are laughing at it.
Syrup village episodes felt like they were 10 hours each fricking hell.
Uhg, Americans are the worst.
>Buggy plants one of his ears in Luffy's hat and spies on them
>He gets pissed because they're fricking idiots and don't really have any interesting info
actually funny
I don't feel bad for people who eat up this slop and pretend it's good. It's slop, always was going to be, always will be.
Luffy is an overacting idiot. Nami's voice sounds like she's trying hard to not be a typical valley girl, Zoro is low energy as frick, Usopp is just kind of there, and Sanji somehow is the only guy who is close to being right for the role, but he ain't Franco-German.
Just kill it.
Luffy is a pretty hard character to actually portray since he is a shonen mc stereotype.
No shit, you literally have to be missing brain cells, not scowling like a moronic teenager who thinks he's in a Western. Luffy in reality would be an actual autist who doesn't understand simple shit.
Not really? Luffy has an innate emotional intelligence that these types of characters tend to lack.
Luffy has no emotional intelligence. He's literally the epidemy of the Shounen trope to the point where he's the poster boy of it. Anything else is just interpretation cope.
I've seen speedreaders but even for them you're fast
I've seen Luffy stretch across the pages, but your brain sure can do that mental gymnastic like an elastic dong.
Smooth brain take
Emotional intelligence is lowkey Luffy's super power. The comic spells it out for you multiple times. How do read this and come to the literal opposite conclusion?
You dumbfricks don't seem to be aware of the amount of times Luffy has done shit that indicates he has no sense of self-awareness, self-control, or even a modicum of social skills beyond the base requirement needed to move the plot along.
Are you perchance upset by the shounen protagonist that once read the emotions of a rock?
>self-awareness, self-control, or even a modicum of social skills
We were talking about emotional intelligence, friend.
Did you want to change the topic? Is it because everyone is making you look stupid?
Luffy cuts through bullshit and self delusion. He can innately sense when people are being dishonest about what they are feeling. It happens in pretty much every arc.
>Robin: I want to die
>Luffy: no, you don't
Do me a favor and google what makes up Emotional Intelligence. The things I listed are part of it, so either you don't understand what you're talking about and is just parroting shit someone else has passed around the fandom, or you're just genuinely a fricking idiot who doesn't understand what words even mean.
Nah, it's literally just you tards who go out of your way to not understand.
You sound like a emotional intelligence expert. I kneel to your Google research.
I accept your concession.
>emotional intelligence
it's just conqueror's haki (aka willpower)
Right, willpower was how Luffy saw through out Nami's deception and bound her to his cause.
>the author of a comic for children thinks emotional intelligence is a superpower
You just blew this whole thing wide the frick open.
You act like they'll stop trying to gaslight people into thinking their comic isn't made for children and that it's a modern day Odyssey when Oda is just an autist they've hyped up beyond imagination.
My nakama in Christ, there are literal chapters entirely devoted to explaining how the Chosen Ones have the special ability to Hear The Voice Of All Things™.
He can literally read minds. Are you actually stupid or are you merely pretending?
No, are you? I'm starting to think you tards can't understand One Piece well enough because you rely on the English translation too fricking much and don't actually understand his character in the actual language he's written in.
That must be it. Everybody is too stupid to understand you.
I'm digging how much more Buggy they have in this compared to the original East Blue
Fails the Sanji-Zeff goodbye completely.
the buggy fight is so kino bros
Zoro is way too edgy. Zoro is supposed to be cool but goofy at the same time.
6 Episodes in
EP 1 - Ok
EP 2 - KINO
EP 3 and 4 - Mediocre
EP 5 - Ok
EP 6- Pretty good
The episodic format of early one piece stories is really hurting the show
>only two episodes are the mediocre and 4 goes from OK to kino
How's that possible? Unless you're not fair with your reviews.
Buggy is kino as frick
That's what everyone's saying.
Because Buggy's casting was perfect
I get that part but it looks like they only botched Syrup Village so how's this format hurting the show exactly?
Because there's no clear narrative in the East Blue arc. It's mostly anthological so in live action it shifts jarringly from location to location. It's going to be much better if they get a S2 since the focus is on Alabasta and Drum
Oh, ok. That's fair I guess. Looks like the real "plot" only kicks in at episode 5/6 with the Baratie and Arlong.
>Kurobi throws Sanji into a table, knocking it over
>It reveals Usopp hiding under it
It's the little things
Watched the first two eps. When does this get better. Everything felt like a big budget amateur film. The important scenes lacked any impact. The actings mostly shallow and bland esp Luffy and Zoro. It felt also claustrophobic with so many up close and medium range shots that you didnt feel like the characters are actually living in their unique world. Some scenes also shot very weirdly and just like I said, amateurish. Scripts very forced and surface level but that's manga adaptation for you.
You fell for a marketing campaign, as always.
If you're not digging episode 2 then you should probably quit.
I'm sorry you had such a hard time enjoying it
I tried to get into it but it just dull. No tension or anything that would grip your excitement.
don't worry shill, go back to your manager and say them to try harder next time or even better to quit trying and shitting up good things
Episode 35 of course
This Garp is way too fricking serious. You don't get his fun smart ass antics at all. You only his get traitorous nature during the end. He just lacks that fun idiotic but musclehead fun.
Yeah, it's almost as if the tards who take the memeposts about One Piece being a totally serious show that deals with multiple real world issues are just tards shitposting about why their cartoon is totally not a cartoon and should be taken as seriously as other cartoons, if not more.
That's certainly a sentence
I accept your concession.
He's almost bi-polar, I don't know how the frick they allowed that shit on screen. They drained all the charm from his character
I mean, he's meant to be the ""villain"" of this season.
It feels like they merged him with Smoker
Agreed, smoker should be the one to be serious
I feel like the actor only know his scenes kek
Did gold roger even say it was all in one piece?
Thats a 4kids dub only line https://youtu.be/UFVL45xAPSY?si=uWZ6cAHdxdBpJMkO
This is what the execution was like
No one asked you weird knowitall homosexual.
What the frick? Get out of here with that weeb shit
>starts talking about 4kids unprompted
yikes man
ironically that line aged well since one piece is all the continents coming together
nobody cares live action
they cut hatchan
Worst nojiko ever. I'm glad it went to a Black person. She's a complete c**t.
The scene fails.
buggybros we weating good
Namis thighs..
Look up proto Nami, the outfit isnt accurate
I want Zoro to rape me
does anyone have the screenshots of the director posting politicians next to one piece characters
>Buggy singing a sea-shanty about Nami having a great ass
I love this fricking casting so much
Buggy will become pirate god. It's his destiny. Shanks is a coward, even kid luffy saw through him.
I'm on Episode 7, Arlong's actor just did his SHAHAHA laugh and it was pretty good
Will the next season have the Fishmen arc? When they get Nami on board?
That's the finale of season 1
>It's a "Fisher Tiger overdoses on Fentanyl while Kizaru kneels on his neck" episode
The Sharkmen.
>Will the next season have the Fishmen arc?
No. No it will not.
Spooky.
why doesn's sanji have a curly eyebrow
Is Makino actress someone's sister or something? Her looks are too boring and her acting skills suck
>First it was a Montblanc namedrop
>Now it's a Jaya one from Zeff
God damn shouldn't they be foreshadowing Alabasta before Skypiea
Now that this was a success, will /misc/ secondaries collectively kill themselves? How many L's can a single group of people take?
What does anything have to do with /misc/?
Nogs and Mexicans invading their animes
