Actually it's Sabaody but your point remains. There's now quite a big question lingering over this show in just how much they expect to do and still make a complete narrative. I think it's more likely that they combine Hachi's redemption into Jinbe. If be very surprised if they wanted to go the route of the Paramount War saga at all to be honest.
That would be alot of actors to get but they did add alot of fishmen extras in the live action and it worked out well enough for the choreography. I think if it's popular enough to run that far that they have the means to do large scale battles.
I'd be very surprised if Skypiea doesn't get reduced to a cold season open and Jaya doesn't get merged with Whiskey Peak, but I'd be absolutely fine with that. I'd be willing to bet the house on human Brook being in the flashback as well with the intended casting

Very early One Piece is specifically aimed at kids, and to a degree it still is, but stuff like genocide, suicide and WMDs get included as time goes on, presumably as the core audience grew up Oda trusted them to be ok with darker subject matter

One Piece Live Action adaptation is a non-starter. It has to be one of the most difficult mangos to adapt. It's too ridiculous, too over-the-top, too goofy. Why even do this? Even if they cut out a lot of the filler, where are they going with it? it would take like 300 episodes at break neck speed just to catch up with the mango and you'd be losing out on tons of core content. I don't get this project at all. Witcher could have been done well but they failed at it. Bebop was much more difficult and they shit the bed. I'm not watching this. Maybe people will like it, who knows?

just finished watching the 8 episodes and I liked it for the most part, mainly because my expectations were rock bottom, because it didn't feel dishonest and sinister like cowboy bebop and because of the references, but it has a lot of problems, it's very rough on some parts
>has some fun parts but they all come from easter eggs and references, someone completely new to this story would most definitely find it boring and would turn it off after the first episode

He was super fast in hte manga too but luffy,zoro can react to him when he actually tries to attack them close. They should have have showed kuro attacking teleporting but luffy still blocking him.

I was surprised during that scene, for a moment I thought they were gonna foreshadow observation haki by making luffy sensing where he would be and then hitting him but they just went with hearing

Pros- Sanji is hot. Nami got that cake. Zoro is hot.
Fight scenes are fun. The show isn't taking itself seriously. I want to frick Nami.
Cons- Coby's lips are too delicious to believably pass for a man. "His" increased screen time is obviously a result of ESG. All of the children in the flashbacks are just awful at acting. I'm not going to be able to frick Nami. Melting pot casting for the extras is annoying but somewhat believe able for One Piece, I'm fatigued so I'm holding it against them. Nami won't ever hop on my wiener.

If it makes you feel any better that was probably one of the things Oda was pulling his hair out for but Netflix couldn’t afford to rewrite and reshoot everything.
I kind of like that they actually showcased the Shichibukai in this way, because before they are disbanded in the manga, they are never really ordered to do anything and it just seems like they do whatever the frick they want. Which is ultimately what Mihawk is doing in the LA, but at least they show that Garp THINKS he is ordering him around.

I didn't like how quickly zoro decided to join luffy, especially after all that buildup, I felt like I missed a scene because right before leaving, he looks at the door and then starts fighting the marines, then they defeat morgan and suddenly they are friends. I would have liked more if they had given him a little arc about knowing and liking luffy, like he has to go with them to escape from the marine, then they're kidnapped by buggy so they have to fight together and by the time they land at usopp's village, he would have decided to stay, it would have felt more organic

I am very lenient with live action adaptations, sometimes even preferring them to the source. Death Note, for example, had movies that rocked. I really enjoy when adaptations change the material in interesting ways and lets the audience see new interpretations of it.
I've watched through episode 3, and this is abject shit. The characters are all wrong, their arcs are torn away from them in favor of expediting the story toward some bullshit climax. It wasn't enough for Buggy to be a pirate who looked funny: now he's a heckin Jokerino and everything he does is clown themed! Zoro is self-serious to a fault, Koby doesn't man up when he should (a pivotal moment for the audience warming up to Luffy in particular), and Usopp is given nothing. The producers know the show needs to be goofy to some extent (or they could have been brave and played it completely straight; even that would have been more interesting), but they have no idea how to balance it in live action: the parts that are silly often shouldn't be, and the parts that are dramatic should be silly. The cinematography is filled to the brim with low and Dutch-angle shots, often accompanied by this bizarre depth-of-field effect that makes it feel insanely claustrophobic. I'm sure it's a budget thing, but every fight so far takes place in a tiny room or enclosure. They even had Nami step out of the (ugh) circus tent in episode 2 just to establish the town was destroyed so they could bring her right back into the tiny room where the whole episode took place.
I genuinely cannot believe someone without brain damage could watch this show and not see the myriad problems with it. The few good things I can say is that the action is occasionally done well and Nami is surprisingly conveyed well despite being a sarcastic American mess like the rest of the characters.

I think Netflix will give this another season even if the metrics aren’t up simply to not damage their relationship with Japan. Netflix isn’t one to care about critical ratings (only viewership) but unlike Cowboy I think there would be more outcry from canceling this than not. Unless Oda himself requested it be canceled of course.

Mackenyu gives the "too cool for school" vibes, whereas Zoro is supposed to be a tough guy who's seen his fair share of frickery in the world. Zoro is passionate, loud even, when it comes to it. The only times when he's reserved are when there's nothing going on and he doesn't want to be bothered.
