I went into Ongezellig just expecting something funny and cute and got out feeling devastated
I hate all of you
Honestly kinda same, I watched it on YouTube and then I read up the comics.
While Maya's Conversation was fine, Maya's Sweet 16 has hit me. Not a problem I ever had but I genuinely felt sad how it turned out for her in the comic as people I know had similar stuff going on.
I like how the can be both light hearted and quite devastating right after. It reminds me a lot of a series I liked and watched years ago with a similar themes.
I thought Ongezellig would be a great way to experience something similar.
Unfortunately both were cancelled rather early (Ongezellig got only a Pilot, while the show I watched got cancelled after 1 season, which had a few episodes) so I guess they are really similar in a lot of ways.
i think massa would be better off trying to continue ongezellig off as a webcomic rather than an animated series. there's just too much stuff to abandon outright
Imo a comic is the most likely way this series will survive if massa ever decides to pick it up again. its unlikely, but its the most reasonable best case scenario
That's part of what makes it so good in my opinion. Nothing's changed, but the chance that something might still exists. Like End of Eva, the world and the people that choose to continue living in it are not magically better people because the show ends, but they all clearly have the ability too. I actually think Maya and Shinji are similar in many ways, which effectively explains why a certain subset of the fanbase fricking hates her to their core. Personally, I see a lot of myself in Maya, and a lot of who I used to be too. Just like her I have the potential to become Zellig, and every day I might make it one step closer, even if I frick up again and again.
Don't get me wrong, I think zellig is great, but it was quite an expectation whiplash for me. I just read Sweet 16 now and her forcing vomit came out of fricking nowhere.
I related to Shinji when I watched it and years later decided he was just annoying and stupid, so I guess I completed the growth that the show failed to depict.
TL;DR massa stopped pitching and ongezellig for now is over besides maybe occasional lore additions (maybe illustrations maybe not)

But this was not a normal wednesday, and Coco did not have school tomorrow. It had been a whole week since Maya and Mymy were murdered. But those seven days felt more like seven minutes. It was all still so fresh in her mind. Mymy getting knocked off her bike by a shovel. Maya being too stunned to do anything but stop in her tracks and stare at the madman, making herself an easy target. Coco wrestling the weapon from his grip and using it against it against him. Coco could almost still feel herself desperately swinging the shovel at his corpse, as if it could somehow bring her sisters back, if she swung just one more time. But despite all this unwanted clarity, Coco still wasn't sure if it was Minutes or hours after putting down the shovel that she finally could bring herself to call her parents and tell them that only one of their daughters would come home from school that day. Coco didn't even realise that she starting gripping her pendant with both hands and all her might as she was remembering this. At least the people who raided her farm as a child had something to gain from killing her parents. The lunatic who murdered her sisters just did it for the sake of it.

Accepting that she wasn't going to get any sleep tonight, Coco got out of bed to get a glass of water. Crying for hours on end has a way of making a person thirsty. After rehydrating herself, and making her way back to her bedroom, Coco saw a drawing at the back of the while. A drawing Coco had drawn herself when she was so much younger. It had been here the whole time of course, but now was the first time since her sister's deaths that the fog around Coco's mind at receded enough that she could fully internalize what she was looking at. Seeing her drawing gave Coco an idea, nay, a duty. There weren't any art supplies in the house so this family portrait would have to be in grayscale, and the rainbow would have to be ommitted, but grabbing a sheet of paper, a pencil and a hardcover book, Coco flicked on the lights, and sat down at her bed. Admittedly, Coco hadn't drawn much since making the drawing in the hallway, but as long as she could fit in all seven members of her family before her tears completely destroyed the paper, Coco would be happy. And she did, and she was.

Coco knew this. but the love Coco had for them would never leave her either, and neither would the love they had for her. Coco knew his even more. Coco had been through a lot. More than anyone deserves to go through. But you wouldn't know that by looking at her. Her family would want her to be happy. At times, this was the hardest thing in the world for Coco to do. but she never stopped trying. And she never gave up. She gave it her all, just like she gives her all for everything else. Nothing would be the same, that much was certain. But even as everything else changed, the one constant in Coco's life, and the lives of those she knew, was her smile.

Definitely some girls like Maya, and all the girls like Mymy are in their 40's and really only have the racist part and not any of the funny endearing person parts

honestly from what I've heard they've always been pretty glitchy. if you want you could... legally acquire sims 2 pretty easily if you wanna try it out, plus the DLC
I also played 2 a lot back in the day, but sims 1 has that isometric perspective I find very charming and the soundtrack is godly. Also some mechanics are different like the characters never aging.
I tried playing 4 again but it's just a neat character creator with a lame sims game attached to it.

I also played 2 a lot back in the day, but sims 1 has that isometric perspective I find very charming and the soundtrack is godly. Also some mechanics are different like the characters never aging.
