>only person to not suck off Storm throughout the entire Krakoa era was Emma in just this one instance
I hate Storm so much you cannot imagine...
Storm, Emma and Jean are all the same overwanked yes queen characters now
At least Emma’s actually an interesting and flawed character and doesn’t have asspull powers, not to mention she’s easily the hottest out of those three.
Lol Emma's yes queen moments are easily the cringest of them three
This was way worse than any of Emma’s girlboss moments
Oh no! A black woman was involved in plot development! The horror!
Why are you being dishonest?
Are you saying the Red Triangle defense introduced there wasn't plot relevant again? Xavier's fear and doubt hasn't led him to tough and radical decisions? What part do you find dishonest? That's not rhetorical. I'd like an answer
I find dishonest that you pretend think red triangle should be enough for a non telepath to mentally blast back one of the 616 universe's highest telepath and that it's totally not because of
>yaas black kween slay
vibes, regardless of whether it makes sense lroe wise
*lore wise
It's because Xavier invented the Red Triangle, Storm doesn't have anything to do with it besides using what was taught to her. Did you have an issue later when everyone else used it after the Mutant Massacre?
There's a difference in presentation. Again, you're being disingenuous. There's a difference between
>my students thankfully use the gifts I gave them to protect themselves from me while I'm being used by the forces of evil
and
>No, you're wrong xavier, your way isn't the way, it's my turn now
>Again, you're being disingenuous
You're making shit up while accusing me of being disingenuous. Considering the quote you made up never happened, I think it's obvious which one of us has no integrity
I have the obvious solution for all of storm's writing issues
Because that's the only defense they have.
>only defense is recognizing plot development
Imagine samegayging just to tell on yourself like that
NTA but it's a moronic plot device, and whoever came up with the idea should be ashamed.
The notion that one of the most powerful telepaths in that reality could be not only rebuffed, but knocked around like a ragdoll, because someone thought of their safe word is ridiculous.
Xavier could peel most other telepaths' minds like a grape, to say nothing of what he'd do to non-telepaths.
Not surprising, though: Mainstream comics have had virtually no decent writers in the past thirty years.
the Red Triangle defense is actually an EXCELLENT example of Xavier's selflessness and altruism. He taught them specifically how to resist HIM if he ever went rogue. It's like Superman giving Batman the kryptonite ring. If it didn't actually work against the person it was designed to stop, it'd be pointless.
It's a silly plot device that was never used until now that can be used or dismissed at the whims of a writer.
>that was never used until now
Wrong!
>Ewing in 2018
Glad I don't read Avengers
Is official storm wanking is worse than batwank
Let's not go crazy here
The difference between Stormwank and Batwank is black and white.
When exactly did Storm become Stormniqua?
When they allow gays to write her
>Chekhov's gun is introduced
>Chekhov's gun gets used
You're seriously upset over this?
THIS IS WAY WORSE THAN ANY OF EMMA'S GIRLBOSS MOMENTS
The red triangle defense was actually introduced before the Krakoa era.
>Charles goes against his lifetime mission of coexistence to make an ethnostate
>”What’s happening to you Charles?”
You should’ve probably asked that when he made the fricking ethnostate.
Storm went right along with it in HoX and PoX and sounded the most like a cult leader during her screentime there.
Yeah she was so into it people actually started questioning if Xavier was brainwashing them or something at the time.
psychics are always jobbing. I recall when X-gays got mad that the royal Inhumans had psychic resistance and Emma almost having an aneurysm getting by their passive defenses to fake Scott's death.
I like Emma but Duggan's Emma goes against what you're saying. She was good under Hickman and Gillen for this era, but I really didn't like her written by Duggan.
because Duggan is a bad writer
He was great with Deadpool, Punisher, and his first Uncanny Avengers run, but very dissapointing for this era. He wrote a number of mutants well in his Deadpool and first Uncanny Avengers run.
At like 18 she used her powers to make some isolated tribe worship her.
And ever since then she's gone around calling herself a goddess and encouraging others to do so as well.
She's totally unlikable.
They're different versions of it. Emma's constantly called out for being a b***h and she is the designated b***h of the group. Jean's always portrayed as having a short temper and being a c**t. Both get feats and yaaass kweeeen moments, but they're specific and tempered. Only Storm gets all the wankery, all day, every day, from literally everyone, without ever having to apologise for being a massive c**t or suffering any sort of loss. She's a bi negress, she's never going to be humbled for anything.
Storm always been the nice of the 3 though
Depends on who's writing it, cause nowadays she's more insufferable than ever
Still preferable to two decades of wanking Wolverine
Nah, because even at his wankiest, Wolverine is portrayed as a flawed person who doesn't even all the answers and still doesn't have life figured out despite have five times more of it than the rest of us ever get.
Marvel can only write one kind of woman
Emma was always that, though. It's her thing.
Emma is the superior choice and thats just the way it is. People give her a lot of shit for next to no earnest reason outside of when she's shitily written by people who hate her to begin with.
Emma Frost only lets Kitty suck her off
They're all terrible. I can't think of a single female on the X-Men that isn't an insufferable overpowered yaas b***h in some way.
Wouldn’t it be easier to admit that you hate women and want to suck wiener?
Queen sassy b***h
>women
You're in love with drawings. You have nothing to proud of.
I like sucking wiener, but I'm also an Emma fan so
betsy is a b***h too that for some reason thinks less of her human brother thats always had her back
Illyana
-is a b***h
As deserved as this was it's a shame it came from Emma. She's basically the same problem as Storm but the wanking is largely just Duggan.
Strom's cloud looking hair is ugly
That that fact the storm wank was consistent across the whole line through mutliple writers makes me think it was an editorial call. The promo for her joining the Avengers called her the mightiest mutant, hell even the wording for her being on the Avengers was that it makes no sense for her to be on X-team that she isn't leading. I wouldn't be surprised if the writers agreed to lone her out so that they wouldn't have to write around her being near invincible.
This Storm hate all feels manufactured.
Writers like Claremont and Ewing like to wank her hard so of course there will be a counter-reaction to that.
Claremont only wanked Storm because he was literally wanking to her
That's way different from modern day Stormwank
Claremont Storm was also never hailed as the most powerful mutant
The difference is Claremont always punished those he loves - Storm was a tough b***h under him, but she wasn't unbeatable, and always had to be knocked down a peg to earn her inevitable comeuppance.
The irony of Storm 'fans' constantly wanking over her feats when her best stories were always the ones when she was depowered.
What the hell?
Storm jobs constantly in Claremont's run. She's far from "the mightiest mutant"
>oh no, there are people out there who don't like this overpowered, Ms. Can-Do-No-Wrong that everybody goes out of their way to say she's the most capable, beautiful, and powerful thing ever
That is EXACTLY why there's pushback against her, and the hate is only going to get worse when they start writing other characters outside of the X-Men to be a bunch of simpering idiots to her.
It only started up when she beat Vulcan and someone spammed threads about it. Wouldn't be surprised if OP was that very person.
was that before of after swords of x?
When Vulcan as introduced everyone complained that he was ridiculously overpowered, that Brubaker had the X-Men job repeatedly so he could glaze up his O.C. gary stu.
Ironic that people would now complain about Storm beating Vulcan.
Vulcan being a whiny b***h and War of Kings made me like the character.
War of Kings used him well. He didn't seem that impressive in Brubaker's stuff as far as powers. The beyond omega description really bothered people.
I think he'd work in a cosmic setting. He'd also be good as an antagonist to Cyclops since they had a relationship in Deadly Genesis and Vulcan looked up to him when he was younger. Hickman had Scott want to involve him in the family more, and be closer to him.
I wonder if they'll do more with him in X Men 97 especially with the Kree Shiar conflicts.
it probably would've been received better if she hadn't beaten him with a light drizzle
I recall it starting when Leah williams had her tell Magneto he wasn't the strongest mutant in the room during the trial of magneto mini. Also when she became regent of Sol and seemingly scared Doom of despite his big who dares shit.
Storm has basically been hypercrysis'd into a narcissistic gloryhound. Even claremont is picking up on it.
At least she's finally fricking gone out of X-Men books for a while. It's so goddamn insufferable to have this character who is omega level powerful, gets to be an elite hand-to-hand combatant, master thief and then have her be the "adult in the room" when it comes to leadership.
Her one flaw is that she's supposedly claustrophobic, yet it's never an actual problem, it's something she overcomes immediately after mentioning she has it.
I imagine she'll be in crossovers especially with McKay writing Avengers and X Men. Her new tag line is Earth's Mightiest Mutant so she'll be involved with x stuff. The press releases hyping up omega mutant and status remind me of the start of Carol being positioned as Earth's mightiest hero.
The omega shit is really irritating with multiple characters. Iceman and Storm material bring it up constantly.
I wish Iceman wasn't relegated to being a raging homosexual who can only talk about how gay he is because future Iceman being a wizard was one of the only good things to come out of Bendis's run
Ice wizard looked cool. I feel that Bobby stories since Lobdell revolve around his potential and feats to a negative degree. He's had good material since then but so many stories revolve around his potential. OZT was cool with him having a leadership type role.
Honestly they just should just go full degenslaanesh-tier turbo homosexual and have Iceman be exactly like pic related at this point.
At least it'd be more interesting seeing how far a character can go in being degenerate without being an outright villain.
>hey just should just go full degenslaanesh-tier turbo homo
have they not?
inaccuracy
Al Ewing wanking Storm and making her suddenly be all-knowing and knowing all along Krakoa was built on lies was so bad because I know Ewing can do so much better. I don't even know where the frick that came from, it's not like Storm needed some kind of continuity fix.
Ewing furiously jerking off Storm for his entire run with the character then having Thor just frickin no-sell her does make me wonder how much he actually thinks she should be the strongest and most specialest
but that could also be down to his complete disinterest in powerlevel wanking and hero vs. hero dick-measuring contests
I feel like the sudden outbreak of Stormwank was editorially mandated, maybe because of the hair PR disaster
>hair PR disaster
what?
What? You don't know about the HUGE PR disaster that was such a HUGE DISASTER that no one knows that OP is talking about? Wow. It was really huge and a disaster
I vaguely remember people b***hing about Storm being in a mohawk age in some teaser that's the only hair scandal with Storm that I remember in the last 6 months.
>>hair PR disaster
>what?
About I want to say halfway into Krakoa a bunch of people on twitter started screeching about Storm being "whitewashed". It was the usual combination of ignorance and overblown shit. They totally ignored the whole idea that Storm has different ethnic traits as established by Claremont and complained she wasn't "black" enough with her straight hair as depicted on some of the covers at the time. And like idiots Marvel got involved in it and X-Men line editor White (I think his name was) started talking to these people and eventually got Dauterman to design a new "official" Storm hair which was curly and "African". This was coincidentally (or not so much) also when Storm got a central role in the storyline.
I do remember Hickmas saying big plans where coming for Storm for the first like year of Krakoa because she was in the back seat for a lot of that early stuff.
The funnier hair incident was Brevoort getting yelled at over two random preview images making him realize the fans he's dealing with.
Ewing also openly kowtowed to twitter complaints during his runs
it's probably part of the reason he left, it's not like he posted much in the first place
Unfortunately that means finding the conversations now is really hard
Probably overlap with the people wanting Wanda brown
Absolutely the same people. Brown Wanda, curly hair storm and separating Betsy and Kwannon, all happened because of twitter
They belong in prison for that.
emma is the one that damned krakoa faster because she wasnt in the loop of charles and max' plans
emma saved mutantkind from mora genocide plan
and she helped to push it along
What about someone actually count all the times she got wanked during krakoa
Is this from a porn comic?
Astonishing X-Men: Xenogenesis
I just want bare Storm pussy
is this Ramos? i cant tell
as in Humberto? They aren't nearly horrifically deformed enough
>as in Humberto?
yes. top right panel at least made me think it could be him
Storm is shit
Emma is really shit
Jean is boring and also shit
>only person to not suck off Storm throughout the entire Krakoa era
Everyone else on Krakoa sucked off Storm? All in a row?
There are very easy ways to fix Storm's character.
Judging Storm though Krakoa, an arc infamous for making EVERYONE an OOC shitbag, is extremely moronic.
Why are people not mentioning this c**t? She's the original Mary Sue of the X-Men and is the only b***h to consistently girlboss the girlboss Emma, always getting the last word in.
Saying Claremont Storm was wanked can only mean you never read Claremont Storm. She was introduced as deeply divided, outwardly commanding and fierce but in private fragile. The perfect example is that her room in the X-Mansion was filled with plants that she cared for and she was deeply distraught when she accidentally killed some of them with an emotional weather outburst. Her (in)famous punk phase came about because she realized she had been leaning so hard into her "Untouchable goddess" act that she had forgotten how to be a person, and so she embraced being just Ororo for a while. She had moments when she got to be a badass b***h through the run yes, but she was never this caricature of an omega mutant that she is today. And to be fair that characterization has snowballed since the 2010s for reasons I still don't understand.
He had a fully powered Cyclops lose a fight to depowered Storm even though Cyclops was able to hold his own against the entire team during From the Ashes.
Yes and that is explicitly because Maddie makes Cyke fumble the fight with her nascent Phoenix powers. Did you just not read Inferno or
That was a retcon. Claremont absolutely did not intend Madelyne to be a clone or have any kind of powers. At the time, it was a genuine loss.
>she looks so much like Jean
>she looks so so much like Jean it confuses Scott
>oh no i was just joshing you she's totally normal hahaha
it was stupid and they were right to make her a clone
Claremont intended maddie to BE Jean, reborn one final time. That's why her first memory is walking out of a fire (a plane crash in her memory but in reality the death throes of the Phoenix). It was Claremont's way to evade Jim Shooter's demand they kill Jean off for her genocide on that alien planet.
Funny how editorial stepped in when a hero killed innocents back then given how high innocent bodycounts every marvel character has by now.
That seems like what he was doing but in 2012 he said that nope, that was all misdirection, she was only ever supposed to be a completely normal person https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FqemcxM0mJQ
Ignore how she literally had no friends or family or anything that would back up that she didn't just spring into existence in the plane crash that just happened to coincide with Jean's death.
That's a really weird statement because yeah Claremont makes it very clear in the 80s run that Maddie's past is a total mystery with no family or anything, and mastermind looks at her and sees her so close to Jean she could be identical. I dunno why he would say this
Cyclops fans are as tiresome as Storm fans, but let's be honest about what this was, it's not so much a "loss" as it was Storm forcing Cyclops into a position where he risks killing her if he keeps fighting. "Do you want to lead the X-Men so much you'd risk killing one of them for it?" She took advantage of Cyclops not being a dickheel back then, and he surrendered rather than take the risk.
>That seems like what he was doing but in 2012 he said that nope
Well he would say that, wouldn't he? He later lost control of the story and the character in a way he's not happy about. Doesn't mean he's telling the truth about what he was originally doing.
>And to be fair that characterization has snowballed since the 2010s for reasons I still don't understand.
Because of the Blue Hair Society
Did Monet blow Storm too? Did anyone explain why Monet is now turning into Penance? I liked her in PAD’s run, I read a few comics with her in Krakoa age and was confused. Everything with Madrox since PAD was fricking awful. I read hiss mini, his online first comic and him in X-Corporation and frick Marvel. I feel it’s a humiliation ritual because PAD thought Gypsies throwing their crippled babies at people to steal purses was horrific to witness.
>Did anyone explain why Monet is now turning into Penance? I liked her in PAD’s run,
Didn't she start turning into Penance at will during PADs run? I mean in this version of canon she was Penance so it's presumably her secondary mutation or something.
...god the Penance retcon was so fricking stupid
No she didn’t she was just a hot b***h I don’t get it I haven’t read every X-comic I just got some tpbs of X-Factor and loved Jamie
Have you read about Monet's origin in Generation X? I need to ask because I don't want to tell you things you already know.
No I don’t think so I read some issues of it but don’t remember which but know Monet was a hot brown girl and Penace is sharp and silent
Okay strap in because it's moronic.
>Generation X introduces new class of new-er mutants
>one of them is Monet St Croix, a girl who pivots hard from super confident c**t with uber powers to super quiet and nearly autistic
>she gets sent to Banshee and Emma Frosts's new class
>end of first issue has Penance drop out of a portal on the grounds
>Penance is weird mute chick with diamond-sharp claws
>original team's plan for Monet: She's actually two twin sisters who merge into one super-powered body as their power which is why "she" has two extreme personality modes
>original team's plan for Penance: she's a mutant war orphan from the balkans who was badly traumatized and experimented upon before escaping and getting dropped on the team
>new creative team roll in
>they go through with the "Monet is two girls" idea and she splits back into them
>but they also make Penance into the ORIGINAL Monet who is now the older sister of the twins who decided to take her form after she vanished
>Penance gets complete personality overhaul when she's "cured" and goes from quiet, naive, kind girl to turboc**t Monet
>the twins merge into a new Penance because i guess you always need one???
>Monet just continues with the team as if she'd always been there
then later:
>team find a way to cure the twins of being Penance but this somehow creates an independent Penance body which runs off
>this Penance is later called Hollow and is on the loners
That's basically the lore until the 2000s.
I'm sorry but I just hate Emma as a hero. I know it's been a long time but being a stuck up b***h is her only character trait. Just make her evil again, or have her separate from the X-Men and make a new freedom force working for the CIA or give her a hellions book or something
