For example, they did stuff with robots and ghosts as the center of the episodes. There was one special where the main cast of kids opted to travel back in time to prevent their parents from getting a vase after breaking it, rather than doing something more rational. Another special had the town threatened by some mean state official who wanted to flood the town to make a sixth Great Lake (as if they need anymore lakes).

The first one is kind of incorrect because for me, the show excels in providing character development, worldbuilding, or relatable and realistic situations. Barring that, they would often try to do a standard plot, but write it well to make them enjoyable to watch.
The other thing is disgusting and paints the show in a negative light, but has absolutely no effect on the writing (because who in their right mind would do that?).
Really, it's just Nickelodeon trying to milk the show like 'SpongeBob' because management is beyond greedy.
