Oppenheimer's winning Best Picture, Actor, and Director. What else?

>supporting actor
Very likely going to RDJ, doubt they'll give another award to de niro, and I don't think Mark ruffalo will click with enough people to get anything more than a nomination
>Cinematography
no real threat to it, no other film has much of a narrative going in its favour that can put it over oppenheimer
>editing
no major threat to it other than Thelma Schoonmaker, but she has three Oscars already and Jennifer Lame could win her first for Oppenheimer, so this is probably going to Oppenheimer
>score
no major threat to it since Hollywood won't nominate Suzume and The Boy and The Heron (I hate anime and weebs but those two have some of the best music of the year), Robbie Robertson will have a posthumous nomination but I doubt he'll win, barbie isn't getting shit here but Billie eilish will probably win original song
>production design
Barbie has "more" production design but Oppenheimer has that story about how they managed to cut the timeline of the production down by almost half in order to free up the budget for the set design, so I feel like it could win this
>vfx
Don't think any other film could really win here but who knows, they might throw a bone to some dogshit like The Creator because of muh narrative
>costume design
This is probably going to barbie or poor things because those films seem like they have the "most" costume design, it's louder than oppenheimer and killers of the flower moon and priscilla
>hair and makeup
probably pity win for poor things, barbie, or priscilla
>sound
Idk if there were any music focused films that came out this year but this could go to oppenheimer too
>best adapted screenplay
Almost guaranteed going to Nolan, regardless of whether or not the Academy agrees with babie's producers that barbie belongs in original screenplay and not adapted

Yeah it's going to be a huge sweep. Contrarian twitter and Cinemaphile homosexuals that dickride hacks like matt reeves will never recover.

moron awards pundits keep trying to push holdovers and American Fiction for the sake of their awards narratives and to make their speculation shows feel more interesting than they really are, but there's no competition. Especially after it almost made a billion dollars.

The story and acting. There were some shots that I thought looked good. Bomb scene was a bit disappointing but I appreciate it being practical over cgi slop. He could had included the real footage but I think it would had looked dated and off.

Acting is too monotone for me, just about every line is uttered breathlessly.

I don't know how Nolan does it but he really got the formula figured out for generating insane hype about completely mediocre movies. Here you are, another anon pretending it's some deep, challenging art that demands a particularly attentive viewer. While it's the same old Hollywood slop, just somewhat poplished.
The movie actually felt very rushed and hectic, with no focus on the interesting parts, no 10 seconds without pointless expository dialogue (could have been an audiobook really) apart from the explosion scene, which was a total letdown if you seen twin peaks 3 or even just read firsthand accounts about the test, like Feynman's.
But yes, it probably will win Oscars, because they tend to go to the most expensive and polished shit, with no regard to artistic value.

          >I don't know how Nolan does it but he really got the formula figured out for generating insane hype about completely mediocre movies.
It's because his movies are generally liked. That's why. Prestige, Memeto, TDK, Inception, Interstellar, etc. They aren't masterpieces and he did have blunders here and there and I never said Oppenheimer was a masterpiece (im not op) I just thought it was good.
          >Here you are, another anon pretending it's some deep, challenging art that demands a particularly attentive viewer.
Uh no? It probably does needs an attentive viewer though considering it has almost 0 action and is heavily dialogue oriented.
          >The movie actually felt very rushed and hectic
Hectic probably because there is 2 things interchangeably happening at once. Considering I watched Tenet this was tame to me. And rushed? The biggest criticism is that it's slow.

no, it was not that it was confusing because of the non-linear narrative, it was just badly done. No scene felt like it had weight. Frankly it was quite well-adapted to the stereotypical zoomer, like short, loosely connected clips glued to each other without creating a really memorable whole.

Maybe I know what you mean. Sometimes it would cut to the other plot and kill the momentum building by going back and forth. I think it was done ok because the alternative would be either cut out one of the plots entirely or paste the court plot at the end in a linear fashion. Which is pretty much what happened but imagine it being extended another like 50+ minutes instead of it being cut back and forth. I think a lot of people would check out. Having the interrogation and court plot cut and mentioned at the same time it was happening in the bomb plotline probably helps watchers connect the two instead of remembering if they were entirely separate. Like in the interrogation scenes and remembering what Oppenheimer said an 1 hour and 20 minutes ago in the movie when you watched it happen lol.

he's literally the only one who doesn't deserve an award for oppenheimer. He wasn't that good. His big ego was showing plenty of times and he overacted in bunch of scenes

I'd give it best cinematography and score maybe. It was a very well polished film, but otherwise I didn't think Oppy was that great. The story was dull and cutting back and forth between hearings didn't work for me. Plus once the bombs get dropped, nothing afterwards feels like it matters. Just bureaucrats squabbling about their personal gripes. Not sure why people are dickriding RDJ so hard for this one.
