I mean to be fair, they don't. At least with Wolverine and Iron Man it had a slight chance. No one would have even looked at this had it just been Doctor Strange and Blade supported by Topaz and Werewolf by Night.
> Doctor Strange
> Scarlet Witch
> Blade
> Werewolf By Night
> Ghost Rider
> Moon Knight
> Agatha Harkness
> Nico
> Victoria Montessi
Most of that list is in the game, though I do frickin wish we had moon knght and not the weakest spider-man i've ever seen in a game
>Weakest
>When his environmentals are absolutely broken
I meant as a character you fricking dorks, yeah ingame he's really useful, but Peter is insufferable and the most bizarre mix of zoomer and college kid I've ever seen. his friendship with Robbie was just annoying
>constant cc, mobility, and environmental/knocks
okay
They advertised it as superhero X-com(Which people have been waiting for 25 years for.) and instead it was a weird Slay the Spire deckbuilder game.
Most Marvel people are too lazy to read cards and learn mechanics
They literally didn't do this, they were upfront about the card shit since the first actual gameplay previews, this is just something you expected then made up in your head.
>are too lazy to read cards and learn mechanics
Or maybe I want LESS RNG in my game
>Superhero x-com
Damn, I didn't know I wanted this.

I would argue that people wanted Marvel X-com and it wasn't really that. Then there are the issues with writing. There were moments I really enjoyed and I actually started getting invested into the characters. But there was always some modern marvel quipyness that dragged me screaming out of the moment.
I'd still gladly play a sequel. Hopefully, there's another game and they actually go in on romance. They made me want to waifu Magik.
Other people have pointed to this, but the art direction really is offputting. It's like the worst parts of the MCU and modern Mortal Kombat smooshed together.
Why do Marvel games all have to have that pseudo-MCU look now anyway? Obviously CD Avengers is the worst offender but a lot of the more recent ones like Insomniac Spidey, MvC Infinite and MUA3 would've all looked better for it had they just been allowed to completely be their own thing as opposed to having one foot in the MCU pool.
MUA3 looked really good though. It's the best looking Marvel game in a decade. And they did go for their own style
Carol’s ass was too big
Is this true? Wouldn't know since I ignored her as much as possible.
Yes, it’s actually very true. Carol’s ass was very fat in the game.
Any proof to your claim?
*makes your game really smelly*
Who doesn't want more characters in their party based game about superheroes? Imagine complaining about getting to play Spider-Man lol. What you should be complaining about is the lack of certain characters because more fleshed out characters is good
>except the popular movie characters have to be shoehorned in because the magic Marvel characters supposedly don't feature enough commercial draw to carry a game
Didn't they do that for Marvel vs Capcom Infinite too? Marvel insisted they only use MCU Characters which left out big MVC fan favorites like Wolverine, Dr. Doom, Shuma Gorath etc. So they alienated their current fanbase while normies would never pick up a game like MVC Infinite so it sold like shit.
I'll never not be mad they killed MVC3 just to make that shitty Infinite game. Three was great, if they had just added Gambit and Captain Commando I would have called it perfect
Magik deserves a solo series and a solo game and a solo movie.
Someone with a lot of say on the game was a clear Magik fan.
Is it true that there are dating mechanics in this game? Can I date Magik?
You can be best friends. They really should have gone all the way but I guess Marvel put their foot down on that.
A whole bunch of things
>People wanted a superhero X-COM for years and it wasn't that
>The gameplay style was too niche for normies
>The magic thing was too niche, it should have been general superheroes
>At the same time they just threw in a bunch of non magic heroes so it never really hit that niche anyways even though it seemed to.
Basically it was too all over the place, trying to do a specific thing but too scared to fully commit to it.
What went wrong was that the main gameplay was super repetitive. You have a roughly 10ft x 10ft arena, and you need to kill everyone in it, and every turn for a while new enemies spawn.
That's every single mission for the entire game.
If they get another shot I think an X-men thing would be a stronger pull.
No faith in their product, why bother making a Midnight Sons game if you're just going to put Spider-Man, Iron Man, and Wolverine in it?
>What went wrong?
Managment in AAA studios aren't interested in ideas, just lists of popular things that can be thrown together
>we want a superhero x-com!
Actual X-com with superheroes would be ass when wolverine somehow misses his snikt attack despite being 1 centimeter away from the enemy. The card stuff was actually good and let each character be unique while maintaining that superhero flair.
The line up sucked ass though
Missing is understandable in a system that accounts for stats that could affect it, like debuffs, buffs, or a character having lower accuracy fighting another with higher evasion, unless you think someone like Punisher should be guaranteed to hit Spider-Man just because you ordered him to attack. Guaranteed hits could make things very unbalanced without a design compromise to offset it.
As shitty as comic sales are they still can't get over the idea that they can sell shit with the big names from the 90s and the MCU. They would genuinely be better off stuffing the roster with as many heroes as possible.
Should have been a stealth ultimate alliance game really
No, it really shouldn't have.
I still can't decide if this game or the avengers game had the worst redesign of iconic costumes, Avengers technically said the events happened in their game, but this game they are non canon alt costumes. Either way they look like overdesigned trash
Passionate baby-making sex with Magik
Literally a Poochie
we lost XCOM 3 aka Terror From the Deep 2 because of this
