outside of Batman and Superman there aren't any characters DC has that MARVEL doesn't do better.

DC is a complete failure compared to marvel. And they still haven't brought the XMEN in yet
Animated series and animated movies DC is better. Live-action movies Marvel is better. Live-action series they're generally the same.
Both are silly when you go back to the source material, DC just failed to adapt it to the big screen. Aquaman pulled it off, but it was a pretty average movie
That’s true but some of DC is fun watch justice league unlimited
I enjoy the DCAU but find the portrayal of Batman and Superman in it to be nihilistic and stoopid.
Forreal though. If MARVEL bought Batman, Superman, New Gods, the Charlston characters, Captain Marvel(the real one), and maybe the OG JSA characters(Fate, Midnite, Sandman, etc.) DC would be so fricked
How is Bruce Timm's Batman or Superman nihilistic?
Alex Ross' art is absolutely kino. Best comic art that ever existed.
Fricking amazing artist.
I fricking hate RDJ. He has an extremely punchable face.
Post face
His face is in the OP, idiot.
Hawkeye is in no way, form, or fashion better than the Green Arrow. And the Flash mogs all speedsters, period.
wrong on both counts, DC cuck. Unless the Flash we're talking about is Jay Garrick.
MARVEL buying Batman as an IP solves that problem
not even true anymore. I liked the Iron Man, Spider-Man and X-Men cartoons just as much as Batman and Superman, and I like EMH more than JL.
He's not wrong about the speedster thing. Who is a better one at Marvel? Quicksilver? The last time he was interesting is when they made him date his sister.
> Jay Garrick
Not even best Flash.
Wally West is pure, unadulterated kino. It’s staggering how much better a character he is than Barry.
Barry gets milked because he's the "original" (as much as Hal Jordan is the original Lantern)
Hal Jordan has better stories than Alan at this point but I kind of liked the original magic aspect of the ring. They turned it into a sci-fi trope with Hal because that was all the rage in the late 50s.
speedforce gays are worse than sonic gays. The oedipal conflict Pietro has with his dad is a thousand times more interesting than "I need to go back in time...to save...*destroys the universe*"
You don’t know Wally West. With him, it’s all about the character.
I did like Kid-Flash a lot too. Alright, I was wrong about one Flash, but lets face it, DC has forgotten what makes them great. pic related could never happen today. They've lost sight of the baseline Americana that makes these comics so enduring. Marvel is fricked too, but slightly less so, and for a slightly smaller amount of time.
I don’t disagree.
I'd dig the Flash more if they kept this look for him
The Matt Fraction run was decent
the 04 run is better.
Ultimate > 616
Hawkeye being a desperate Carnie turned villain by Black Widow turned hero by Black Widow again with a bit of an inferiority complex is way more interesting than "black ops psychopath"
>black ops psychopath
Guilty as charged, I'm a sucker for that shit
I liked his iron man run
Joker and Riddler. Also Batgirl and Harely Quinn. I don't even know if Marvel got any equivalent of these.
Swamp-Thing is in a completely different league than Man-Thing. And as far as I’m concerned, the Spectre is a vastly superior character to Dr. Strange.
Spectre is kino but I don't see much of a comparison with Strange. Dr. Fate is a lot closer to him.
I agree, but even then, it’s a toss-up between which I’d say is better.
It's not much of a toss up, Spectre is better. With Dr. Fate, it's hard to tell. I'd say Strange has better stories overall. There have been too many Dr. Fates over the years and no one was as interesting as the OG Kent Nelson.
I just find the whole mystical cosmology of DC more interesting. To my knowledge, Marvel’s never had anything to compare with characters like Dream or limited series like “The Books of Magic.”
For example, this derpy-looking dude and his sword and revolver could conceivably kill Superman, not because they’re magic in the conventional sense, but because they’re even more fundamental than that.
DC magic is more esoteric but MARVEL cosmology and religion is more beautiful imo.
Galactus is Kirby inverting the fall of Lucifer thru the Silver Surfer. A fallen angel, steering mankind away from God's intentions. Trippy shit for a kid's book.
Man-Thing mogs the frick of Swamp Thing on account of the horror storytelling is better. Only thing Swamp Thing has going for it is the message, which is gae. The character you'd compare to Strange would probably be Zatara or like Mandrake the Magician, not Spectre or Fate.
>Wondy's got it over Captain Marvel.
sure
>Black Widow
I got two cheeks that say otherwise. Also Valkryie mogs Wonder Woman. Diana is an empty costume.
Constantine mogs any and all mystical types. I’m still pissed that the show got canceled just when it was finding its rhythm.
Swamp Thing show got cancelled too and it was decent. DC excels at flushing its good projects down the toilet while investing resources into shit that is mediocre.
My anger is fricking eternal.
I also prefer Man-Thing. Swamp Thing is depressioncore, I can't read it. Granted, it's better written overall.
Both are depressioncore but Man-Thing isn't as mopey.
dark knight 1 and 2 are the only superhero movies worth watching
for me it's these 3
Wondy's got it over Black Widow and Captain Marvel.
I never cared for Diana as a character. Carol and Black Widow are more interesting to me simply because they aren't as two-dimensional.
they both suck. marvel was a fluke of good timing and an unusual commitment to rapid production schedule. its over now. people wont be tricked into watching 15 loosely connected movies that take 30 years to come out
You know what I’d like to see? I’d like to see Marvel do something with the New Universe characters. The early story arcs in Starbrand were total kino.
The Question is probably the only DC character who doesn't have a Marvel copy that is better. The issue with The Question is Rorschach is better than him.
Batman doesn't have a DC copy that is better. Daredevil comes close but his villains aren't that memorable in comparison.
Superman also. All of his copies are pale imitations.
Image Comics has the best Superman clones in Supreme, Omni Man and formerly Miracleman.
DD gets the Catholic guilt, Gothic imagery, etc.
Cap gets the civic duty, peak human perfectionism, plucky sidekick
Iron Man gets the toys, charisma, tragic backstory.
OP already mentioned Bats and Supes, which is why I ignored them.
I liked Iron Man before he was popular. I liked him since the 90s cartoon.
I remember getting Hypervelocity on a whim and liking it a lot
It's weird hearing people say 'before Iron Man was popular' because before the movie he was beloved among the comic reading community, however diminished it was in the years preceding the MCU.
DC has Batman and Superman and that's it. Snyder already fricked up both of them so it was a dead universe. Marvel has nobody on the heights of those characters but they make up for it with a stronger overall cast.
