>Over the years I have many times complained about the way fans dress at cons. A civilian walking by the dealers room of a big con will glance in and behold a churning sea of slobs. Those faded t-shirts. Those knee-length shorts. The general sense that soap is not a familiar item. As if the Comic Shop Guy on THE SIMPSONS is a fashion plate to be emulated. In other words, civilians see exactly what they EXPECT to see, and over the years I have sent out pleas to my fellow fans and pros alike that we try to present ourselves in a way that does us some credit. Don't dress like Mormons, but if you're going to a three day con, bring a change of clothes!
Based Byrne raises a good point here - why do so many comic nerds, particularly ones who frequent the con circuit, have an issue with basic hygiene?
Fuck this thread. Post how you dress at a con if society didn't imposed neckbeard to look like how we feel. I personally am a big fan of the knee high boots with miniskirt looks, some people may think is rather queer, but I think I could pull off the look like darkseid can.
Well la-de-da Mr. Park Avenue manicure.
I know people like his 80s stuff and find his weird rants amusing, but Byrne does come off like he'd be completely insufferable if you had to spend more than five minutes with him in real life.
I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Byrne had some form of high functioning autism or asperger's, because it would explain a lot about his behaviour and certain creative decisions he's made
This homosexual and those like him ruined comics forever. I don't give a fuck how much praised his work gets.
>This homosexual and those like him ruined comics forever
What do you mean?
>Stephen Spielberg about to shoot you.jpg
>civilians
>guy says shower and dress nicer
>absolute degenerates on Cinemaphile call HIM autistic and claim HE ruined comics
Jesus fucking Christ kill yourselves you smelly fat homosexuals
I'm not saying he's autistic for that. He's pretty fucking right about it
But Byrne is almost certainly autistic for other reasons
I shower all the time you whiny ounkass bitch.
Both things are possible anon. We don't like in a binary world.
Vicious cycle: person is shunned/mocked/bullied and is made to feel undesirable. This treatment makes them not value their appearance, which then leads to their being shunned/mocked/bullied for whatever initial trigger AND their poor hygenie/appearance. Repeat the cycle a few times, and you get someone who doesn't care how they look/smell/whatever because they've been getting mocked/laughed at for so long that they've given up on ever being treated well by anyone.
Is that future Linkara?
No, Byrne is actually talented
Not enough chin
