Pretty cute episode overall. The girl that played the ghost was real cute.
Made me feel old that Inoue had to explain what a phonebox was to the kiddies.
I was thinking that too. Oh my, what an -unfortunate- name for the ghost's lover. At least he was still alive.
That gattai sequence with no voices, just the animal noises (and Onisister...growling?) and continuing the ominous background music with the normal music for the sequence quietly under it was strange.
I suppose it was such a serious situation they didn't feel like joking around.
This episode was edited very weirdly too. Not sure if it was on my end or the raws, but when Minako is telling Haruka about her dates her voice sounds super distorted. Then when the action starts they switch to the weird filter Go-Onger used sometimes completely at random. I had to stop and replay shit to make sure I wasn't imagining things.
Filler is fine in its original context, which is literally filling time in manga adaptations, usually battle shounen, so that they don't overtake the manga's content. Anime fans then gradually distorted this into "any episode that doesn't have my arbitrarily decided amount of plot advancement" and so for the last fifteen to twenty years every dumbass anime viewer whines that character-building episodes that develop the cast or are about anything but blitzing through the plot to be filler content no matter what kind of show they're watching.
Filler originated from last minute fill-ins for tv broadcast, when that kind of thing was more common.
Then anime fans eventually used the term to reference additional content of anime adaptations (since those episodes were seen as only existing to "fill in" the timeslot), which is already a pretty big deviation from its original meaning.
Filler then eventually gained popularity as description for episodes that don't progress a show when that kind of thing came to be more expected by audiences around the world. Easy of access to media killed the main advantage of episodic shows, pushing more people wanting pay offs, and needing a way to describe episodes that lacked that build up to the eventual pay offs.
The thing is, even the donbrothers aren't fully sure why the weird things happening to them are happening, so imagine telling that to your loved ones. If it's hard for you to even understand what's going on in your life, it's even harder for someone else to understand. Not to mention she believes one of their companions is an actual dog, her aunt would lock her in an insane asylum
This. They don't even tell each other who their identities are and only really found the ones out they did by chance (or in Jiro's case because he decided to try to get involved before he got his powers). If they won't even tell Inubro "Ok meet up at the cafe and we'll all know who everyone is so we can organize this stuff better" then she'll never tell her aunt.
I wouldn't be surprised if Haruka, Saruhara and Tsuyoshi would be shocked to know that Tsubasa is Inu Brother then asks Taro if he knew (he does) only to point out that they didn't ask (and he assumes that they already know it because he had them take care of him before).
>I mean, if you transform in front of her and then show her your robot oni form I think she'd believe you after that.
or it will drive her crazy. In any case I don't think her knowing that or not would make much difference since she's not really that active in the show.
Yeah she only appeared twice so far. Not exactly a major character. Even Kaito shows up almost every episode and Miho has been in at least half of them.
Not everyone in the Noto Realm is an in agreement. Remember they killed off the Don Clan for being too buddy with humans. Mother and Murasame seem to be a different faction from Sonoi's group.
To be honest, given how we've got multiple instances of the Nouto trio and Donbros going on wacky antics together, seeing them again fighting to decide whether a Hitotsuki lives or dies will feel jarring.
They may not even do that anymore since the Donbros now know the Noto don't really kill them. And they haven't actually done that since then. They're only fighting now because Sonoi's higher ups ordered them to defeat the Donbrothers and Sonoza is the only one who's really dedicated to that now.
It's pretty funny that the cat Juuto was introduced months ago now and nothing has been done about them at all yet.
I honestly thought they were gonna start getting incorporated into weekly fights sooner or later since it took so many people but they've just been running around doing god knows what.
This week's episode of Revice had a Rider who is part of the setting's defense force (Abe's killer was an ex-JSDF) shooting the head of said government organization dead.
Juuto's are invincible by current Donbrother and Noto power and can insta defeat via getting an origami into someone. So they can't really battle them yet without getting shitstomped.
Anoni, they literally showed how it works in the first episode. There is a hierarchy of who they follow orders from. If there's no Noto around, they follow Hitotsuki. Of there's no Hitotsuki, they act independently.
Yes but why would they ever work with Hitosuki when the Noto are explicitly trying to take them all out? That doesn't really make sense.Hitosuki aren't part of the Noto, they are also enemies to them.
Because they Noto need to be explicitly there for them to follow them. They seem to be controlled by people with stronger minds. Desire is a strong force, but the Noto are clearly stronger than that.
Was there supposed to be some reason why Haruka Kaito Tsubasa and Taro could see her, but Kijima and Shinichi could only see her if they didn't breathe?
The episode pretty well shows that for all her gremlin rage antics Haruka is very pure of heart. How many people would jump though hoops to help a ghost haunting them?
Kaito and Taro are ambigiously human and Tsubasa was infected by a Juuto. Haruka's the odd one out though unless she's actually been a Juuto replacement the whole time and doesn't know it.
He mentions he never forgot about her, so presumably someone knowing the intimate details of the conversations he had with the girl from years back was enough to convince him they were serious.
Another great episode. But Huraka's time with the ghost girl made me realise the primary thing that's missing for me in Donbrothers: Another female team member that she could freak out with.
Nah I think it's for the best. If there's two girls they tend to be treated as a unit or one completely overshadows the other. Considering Haruka is probably the most focused on Sentai girl in years another female teammate would take away from that. She could maybe use a non team member female friend though, like some of the early Sentai's used to have.
Even in a broad sense just asking if he had a phone relationship with a girl exactly 50 years ago where they mention her exact name and the exact phone booth out in the middle of the road he used to call because she didn't have a house phone would be enough for him to think there was something to it.
>Saruhara takes her out on a date >they just sit on a park bench imagining themselves eating dinner
or >he takes her out to eat, makes her pay since he refuses to touch money
Yabai
code?
Oh my lord, what horrific timing.
F

>Made me feel old that Inoue had to explain what a phonebox was to the kiddies.
I had to seriously think back to my childhood to remember what a phonebooth was. I haven't seen one in like 20 years.
Ha, I remember our town had like a phone office with phones so if you wanted to call to another city or abroad, you'd go there. I'm 30 btw.
another week, another kino
I love him.
Can someone make a webm of this scene, please?
what is the next hitotsuki based on?
Dairanger probably since Jiro needs Kibaranger to be a full schizo.
What was this week's?
Go-Onger
Goseiki. Toravolt gets the Kibaranger gear according to the preview
I really hope we see what Black Kaito's deal is soon
God, he's such a chad. All he does is sit and make inquisitive looks, then pulls this shit.
I really like how they use their powers outside of just fights
you're not one to talk Haruka
>I also like listening to scary stories on the radio
tfw no ghost gf
That gattai sequence with no voices, just the animal noises (and Onisister...growling?) and continuing the ominous background music with the normal music for the sequence quietly under it was strange.

>Then when the action starts they switch to the weird filter Go-Onger used sometimes completely at random.
That's probably intentional giving that the monster was Go Onger based.
>Tarou arriving late
donbrothers second filler episode
Donbrothers has no filler episodes. Every episode has pushed forward the plot or character relationships.
You say that, but watch Sonoza finding First Love Hero turn into a major break point for the plot.
>filler on an episodic show
>filler
I blame anime fans for invented this word
Filler is fine in its original context, which is literally filling time in manga adaptations, usually battle shounen, so that they don't overtake the manga's content. Anime fans then gradually distorted this into "any episode that doesn't have my arbitrarily decided amount of plot advancement" and so for the last fifteen to twenty years every dumbass anime viewer whines that character-building episodes that develop the cast or are about anything but blitzing through the plot to be filler content no matter what kind of show they're watching.

>blame anime fans
>for a term that's been around since the 70s
great ep
ghost girl was so cute
id be nice if she ends up being a in the next show
Dating during the time of Haruka's aunt sounds comfy
Lol even the writers are aware the main cast are a bunch of freaks
'Freaks' would be being too nice. specially in Tarou's case.
Tarou is a soulless alien in human skin.
>Someone saved an image I posted
why doesn't haruka just tell her auntie about donbrother stuff
The thing is, even the donbrothers aren't fully sure why the weird things happening to them are happening, so imagine telling that to your loved ones. If it's hard for you to even understand what's going on in your life, it's even harder for someone else to understand. Not to mention she believes one of their companions is an actual dog, her aunt would lock her in an insane asylum
Yeah it doesn't seem until next episode that the overall populace even knows much about the Donbrothers since they warp in and out of fights so fast.
himistu sentai
This is an Inoue show, anon.

Yeah she only appeared twice so far. Not exactly a major character. Even Kaito shows up almost every episode and Miho has been in at least half of them.
The real Shinzo-san… may never reply her call
They have the same pronunciation but different Kanjis.
I enjoyed the episode but the dialogue between the ghost and the guy wasn't as emotional as it could have been, it falls a bit falt.
>bit falt.
Meant to say flat, you know what I mean.
Man, they actually show her dead body after being hit by the car. Bravo.
>Murasame fights the Noutos
Huh, thought they were on the same side
Not everyone in the Noto Realm is an in agreement. Remember they killed off the Don Clan for being too buddy with humans. Mother and Murasame seem to be a different faction from Sonoi's group.
we're starting to get into too many cooks in the kitchen territory and I'm worried
This is probably just so that Sonoi and friends can become somewhat good guys while the Noto are still a general enemy.

I honestly thought they were gonna start getting incorporated into weekly fights sooner or later since it took so many people but they've just been running around doing god knows what.
Juutos are coming back after Jiro gets his mech.
It's because there's currently no actual way to fight a Juuto, as established.
Murasame is Inuzuka's waifu come back.
Then who is Miho?
https://twitter.com/bandai_sentai/status/1546329277934645254
What an eerie coincidence
>Space cowboy
>Not space samurai
Why did he do it
Because it's starting to look like Master Kaito is just as autistic as Zenkaiger Kaito, just with a more reserved personality.
Tarou has been inside a woman now and filled her ovaries.
Holy shit....
This episode is about a ghost waiting for a call from SHINZO... right after Shinzo Abe was unalived in real life..
Wtf is this poltergeist coincidence stuff???
Or maybe TOEI put a hit out or something
A coincidence like this doesn't make sense
It was all according to my plan anon
You mean according to keikaku.
This week's episode of Revice had a Rider who is part of the setting's defense force (Abe's killer was an ex-JSDF) shooting the head of said government organization dead.
Nahhh something really fishy about the coincidence and im certain the adults in Japan will notice it too
I'm curious what 5chan and the Japan toku forums are saying about this craziness. This is insane.
>volcano warning exactly after Julio went berserk and blow up the surroundings
Kinoshita...
tsunami warning from a volcano eruption many miles away.
CERN's causing fiction to bleed into reality. Chris Chan was right all along.
Juuto's are invincible by current Donbrother and Noto power and can insta defeat via getting an origami into someone. So they can't really battle them yet without getting shitstomped.
And Juuto seem not caring about Hitotsuki problem, or attacking the Noto and Donbrothers. I hope this is not writing problem
Juuto are one thing, but when's the last time the Anoni mattered? You know, the mooks that hide among humanity, requiring the glasses to see.
I think they realized a few episodes in that having the Anoni helping the Hitosuki makes no sense when the Noto are also against them.
Anoni ARE Noto just less powerful ones than Sonoi's group. They even follow the naming theme.
Was there supposed to be some reason why Haruka Kaito Tsubasa and Taro could see her, but Kijima and Shinichi could only see her if they didn't breathe?
Only those of pure heart can see ghosts.
Saru is up his own ass and Kiji is a psycho.
Then how could Haruka see her
You can be pure of heart and still be an immature gremlin.
Like children
The episode pretty well shows that for all her gremlin rage antics Haruka is very pure of heart. How many people would jump though hoops to help a ghost haunting them?
Haruka is pure of heart in the same way Goku is.
They are already dead
Not this again. We did this with ToQger.
ToQger was 27 years ago
Kaito and Taro are ambigiously human and Tsubasa was infected by a Juuto. Haruka's the odd one out though unless she's actually been a Juuto replacement the whole time and doesn't know it.
Only the sturdiest of stomachs can handle the chad Don wiener
What did they mean with this?
meta foreshadowing for Inuzuka
You just know.
>Ah...
>Shi-Shiro?
>Yeah
>Shiro! I was so worried about you!
>Mom! Shiro is here!
>Couldn't recognise Inoue-san since he didn't do his usual anime voice
Frick me.
You motherfricker.
>It's over Asakura Yoh, I have Bason and his white steed with me
>BASON, GOLDEN OVERSOUL!
He mentions he never forgot about her, so presumably someone knowing the intimate details of the conversations he had with the girl from years back was enough to convince him they were serious.
I was half expecting the ghost to start crushing on Haruka next. That's usually how that Sentai plot ends.
Another great episode. But Huraka's time with the ghost girl made me realise the primary thing that's missing for me in Donbrothers: Another female team member that she could freak out with.
Nah I think it's for the best. If there's two girls they tend to be treated as a unit or one completely overshadows the other. >thought it was a Go-Onger monster because of engine souls or whatever
>it's because she was hit by a car
No it's ghost = soul
pay phone = go phones
all of these are valid
Kino episode as always. Donbros just keeps getting better and better. I wish I were on that date with Taro.
Notice SHINZO tells the ghost "I know we'll meet one day in a beautiful place shining with light"
This character SHINZO is talking about meeting a ghost in heaven the same week as Abe Shinzo dies in real life...
Wow..
It wasn't just Sentai that had an uncanny coincidence.
Yeah it is weird considering there isn't a chance in hell Abe makes it to heaven
The whole thing with characters who could or couldn't see the ghost kinda reminds me of that Gokaiger's episode on Jetman.
So Haruka is an alien then.
>Saruhara takes her out on a date
>they just sit on a park bench imagining themselves eating dinner
or
>he takes her out to eat, makes her pay since he refuses to touch money
>Ghosts can touch CGI creatures
subtle detail
That big dopey dog head, I love it.
it's very strange how normal Haruka looks here
Ghost girl is fricking cute. I need a webm of that bit where Haruka looks in the mirror immediately.
