I would hardly find it worth complaining about if that's how they treated Doom, as long as they actually kept it on 99.9% of the time and didn't pull a Mysterio where we constantly saw him without it. It's not as if we NEVER see Doom's face in the comics, but it should only be used as a rare treat.

Most people don't remember him in DS, and the ones who do all agree he was wasted, and the MCU has had a couple of instances of an actor playing various roles already. Hell, before Pascal for Reed they approached Jake Gyllenhaal who already had a role as Mysterio, and he was actually well recieved in that.

I agree that they shouldn't show Doom's face, but I disagree about the stuntguy thing. The problem with Prowse as Vader is that there was a disconnect between his physical acting and the voice acting. It should be something closer to the 2012 Judge Dredd movie, where there was still a real actor under the suit but they never showed his face the entire movie. You have to find an actor whose ego will allow his face not to be shown, which is admittedly rare. Although, thinking about it, they kind of did something similar for Thanos. He certainly didn't resemble Josh Brolin, but Brolin still did the motion capture and the voice acting. So I have some hope.

2) The MCU actually has a habit of casting unknowns so this would actually be a departure from the norm if it happens. We think of actors like Chris Hemsworth or Tom Hiddleston as very recognizable now, but they certainly weren't back when they were cast as Thor and Loki.
I suspect they feel like they might need some "bankable stars" because recent MCU films have been underperforming.
