i love that people on Cinemaphile are seething so much at this movie that now we have some homosexual making a post complaining that the tickets went on sale early. this movie is going to hit a billion and you’re going to seethe.

I think the movie will probably save the MCU unfortunately, which is a shame because it was about to die. But I'm genuinely curious if this is standard practice to buy tickets so far in advance.

        >which is a shame because it was about to die.
it literally wasn’t. it had bad management for a couple of years because bob chapek was forcing projects to be shit out even when they didn’t make logical and financial sense. “mcu is about to be le dead” is literally the “two more weeks” shit. it’s not fricking happening, even though you’re biased against it and want it to.

I get all that, probably, but I've genuinely never heard of people buying tickets for a movie two months in advance. So can you please stop focusing on the unimportant part of my posts and answer my question.

I have never watched any of the Deadpool films and I am certainly not about to start. I would love it if Deadpool & Wolverine flops because I know how cataclysmic that would be for Disney, but sadly, I think the film with its le quirky meta humour and cameo porn will make a billion dollars.

      Frick off Ryan, you hack.

People were trying desperately to prove it when Black Panther and Captain Marvel both made a billion dollars and never did manage to find any proof. So they just claim it confidently all the time now but you'll notice they never have any evidence.

What's a movie ticket now? like $20? dunno haven't been in a long time.
You just need 50 million people which is admittedly a lot of tickets. But there are 360 million people (probably more, my stat is old) in the US alone.
I don't know why anything thinks this is unreasonable for the movie event of the year. Marvel had been dominating the holiday box office for some time.

          >never did manage to find any proof. So they just claim it confidently all the time now but you'll notice they never have any evidence.

I remember various 'free tickets' campaigns for both, targeting blacks and girls specifically, the ensure the 'underserved minority' got to see the film.
I expect it's actually just a case of normalgays being that easy to manipulate with the implication of a cultural trend that lets them feel smug.
The Captain Marvel movie inflated by Gary and moronic lobbying vs The Marvels left to its own devices was a drop of 78%.
A couple of those 'grassroots' campaigns below. They act to galvanise the brain-dead on those demographics to then think that 'treating themselves' to the movie is also a statement against bigotry or whatever

This movie is going to make a billion dollars, but that could end up being bad for Marvel. After No Way Home came out they greenlit a bunch of dumb projects that tarnished the brand and odds are they'll do the same thing with this.

They announce the projects so far ahead of time they can always back out. Remember how Rian Johnson was supposed to get a Star Wars trilogy? Then everyone hated TLJ so they backed off on that. Same with Benioff and Weiss, Disney canceled their Star Wars trilogy once everyone hated Game of Thrones.

Reminds me of the people who complain about the prices in Genshin even though the game is piss easy to beat everything with the characters you get from playing it for free. They act like you HAVE to spend $1000 on a character in order to be able to complete the game, which is just plain not true. That or the rest of the people playing the game are completely incompetent in a way that I cannot even begin to comprehend. I don't even think I'm that good at video games but it is not even a remotely difficult game because it seems to be designed with these braindead people in mind. Like yeah, the fact that there are things in the game that cost that much is pretty insane, and I think optically it would be better if things like that didn't exist, so that people can't point at it and whine about it. But at some point the blame has to go to the consumer for paying that much money for something he absolutely does not need. If I can resist it, why can't you? I think you should have more important things to be doing with your life than playing video games if you have a gambling addiction you can't control.
