Anon, this is like every other movie. There's a token feminist moment and then the men do everything.
Infinity War/Endgame is the most obvious example, it has that big GRRL Power moment but every single woman jobs, none of them have any kind of arc, two of them are killed off and neither gets a funeral like Iron Man does. All the "feminism" is set dressing.

Well being a damsel in distress without much characterization is seen as not interesting, but so is the incredibly over done trope of a stoic, flawless, "strong" female character who barely shows any emotion and doesn't grow over the course of the story.
Peach, in the movie, would have been liked more if they went in some new direction. Created a more unique character, did something more bold.
Like perhaps have Peach be a monarch who's acting strong but is really struggling and doesn't really want the responsibility of being royalty but is stuck with it.
Or perhaps she is a bimbo, but a self aware one who's self conscious about if she's a good enough ruler.
A small detail I noticed on Peach that no one seemed to care about.
