I saw it opening weekend and I can't remember anything about it. I can't remember a single line of dialogue the villain said or anything. I've seen some great capes films and some really awful ones but this is the most forgettable by far
I liked it well enough when it came out. Everything with Loki was good, even if it wasn't super memorable outside of that. I always found it weird how this got shit on and not Thor 1.
Why did people hate it again? Can't really remember it standing out as much worse than the other non-Avengers films at that time. Enjoyed it more than Iron Man 2 and 3.
I think most people just repeat what they hear, most of those people probably haven't seen the movie since it came out, the MCU fanbase back then wasn't what it is now too, if this movie came out now people would be defending it hard and saying it's actually good just like they're doing with the recent batch of shitty movies
I was a huge MCU fanboy up until recently, but I very rarely ever rewatched an MCU movie, now I feel like going back to phase 1 and phase 2 days because I'm feeling nostalgic, the MCU is dying so I'd like to relive the good days where it was still a new thing and everyone was getting hyped for it as time went on
When I saw Thor 2 I actually enjoyed very much when Cap showed up, this was like a year after Avengers so seeing that was such a novelty and a good feeling of what was happening, just like when Tony Stark showed up in Hulk
I rewatched phase 1 and 2 over the past few years and enjoyed most of it. Hulk and Iron Man 2 are the only ones I would call sub-par, but everything else is pretty entertaining.
It went deeper into lore than normies we're used to because thor doesn't have a rogues gallery anyone remembers.
Think how Batman only fights the joker in 99% of surface level media and people 30 years into movie adaptations will consoom batman and be confused by the riddler or ras al ghul existing.
Now imagine you're a character and your rogues gallery is shit/not memorable on top of that.
Same reason the warriors 3 were allowed to be unceremoniously killed off. They didn't fit the tone of capeshit marvel and neither does frost not so Giants or dark elves. The idea of space wasn't established by the guardians of the Galaxy being a surprise hit yet, so the cartoon villain dark elves and etc. didn't know how to land or how it framed itself in the cinematic universe.
Thor1 is similar in problems with the magitech focus, but all of marvel always stumbles justifying itself.
But compared to the new shit it's better. People don't even think of the eternals or shag chi of being marvel movies. Just the TV shows about real characters (Wanda, Loki, Hawkeye), doctor strange 2, and the new Thor crap. The stuff not about legacy characters is comical for the wrong reasons. Even writing this I forgot moon knight was nu marvel, it's that bad a problem for the current state of capeshit.
>Think how Batman only fights the joker in 99% of surface level media
Except that's not true at all. A better example would be X-Men where Magneto is in every single film
>A better example would be X-Men where Magneto is in every single film
I still can't believe how many X-Men fans are insisting he has to be in the first MCU X-Men movie too. Like they have all those other villains but they don't even want to see anyone different.
The villains are criminally underused, although I've read that's a problem with this new one too. Also, Darcy, the sidekick, had her own sidekick. And way too much screentime.
Aside from that I really liked the movie and always have. Hiddelston does a good job again, there's more Warriors Three, Thor does actual heroic shit without being a buffoon.
It's boring and umemmorable compared to other MCU movies.
Even the bad MCU movies have stuff in them that you'll remember after seeing it, but many people can't recall a single thing about Thor The Dark World.
>People like this movie now huh?
I think it's position as that one MCU movie even MCU fans were dismissive of means it's being used as a measuring stick to acknowledge that the newer MCU movies aren't even as good as it was. The latest MCU movie being a Thor sequel just makes the comparison even more relevant.
No it's shit, but Thor still could have had his Winter Soldier movie after. Ragnarok was enjoyable but it sacrificed anything ever being taken seriously as far as Thor is concerned.
I think the tone of Taika's films is just making people yearn for something more genuine. When Frigga dies in Dark World, the whole movie stops to have that beautiful funeral. And it brings out some real emotion in Loki, who is usually this shitty little weasel.
No. It was yet one more victim of the post-Avengers fever that overtook the individual identities of each film series. It forced Loki back into the plot and started the trend of him being a misunderstood hero rather than an butthole villain. It sacrificed exploring the 9 Realms in favor of wedging Jane Foster back into the story for the chick flick effect. It was hampered by even more Whedon tier humor that made Kat (hide my melons with a scarf so I don’t upstage Natalie) Dennings in the first film seem quaint. And it once again shied away from the fantastical elements of Thor’s Norse mythology roots by making the Dark Elves into generic evil aliens. If this movie wasn’t so piss poor, they may not have turned to Twee Voice McGee to liven it up by going full He Man youtube parody.
Endgame + Thor 4 redeemed it for sure. Ragnarok saved the franchise and made people care for the character by abandoning the old stuff and taking things in a new direction and now we got to revisit the old movies from a fresh perspective. Everything has been tied together nicely now
Contrarianism makes me laf. The mind of zer normie is so predictable. This shit has been boring but kinda fine since day one. if it was 2005 it'd be an amazing movie to watch on a sweaty july afternoon in a mall
I saw it around the time it came out and it wasn't bad, just mediocre but I didn't hate it, haven't rewatched it since
I saw it opening weekend and I can't remember anything about it. I can't remember a single line of dialogue the villain said or anything. I've seen some great capes films and some really awful ones but this is the most forgettable by far
Considering how downright appalling Phase 4 has been. Yeah, this movie looks like the Godfather Part II in comparison.
It would be better if Darcy was a Nudist
I want to believe this is two different anons who want the same thing.
I liked it well enough when it came out. Everything with Loki was good, even if it wasn't super memorable outside of that. I always found it weird how this got shit on and not Thor 1.
All of the Thor movies have been excellent. Only Spiderman and the first Ironman were as good.
Why did people hate it again? Can't really remember it standing out as much worse than the other non-Avengers films at that time. Enjoyed it more than Iron Man 2 and 3.

Those movies didn't feel like Marvel at all, but instead a poor studio's attempt at making Marvel movies.
The villains are criminally underused, although I've read that's a problem with this new one too. Also, Darcy, the sidekick, had her own sidekick. And way too much screentime.

It would be better if Kat Dennings was Naked the whole movie

I've always liked it, but I'll admit it's trash. Trash that I enjoyed.
People got sick of quips, many such cases
Darcy should've been Nude with only her glasses, lipstick and beanie on the whole film
No it's shit, but Thor still could have had his Winter Soldier movie after. Ragnarok was enjoyable but it sacrificed anything ever being taken seriously as far as Thor is concerned.
>you cant hate two things
Is this the best mouse cultists have to defend their garbage now?
It's the way of things. People will shit on latest mediocre like it's bad then when new mediocre comes out they act like the old mediocre was good.
Give it time for another bland Thor movie to come out, probably a dark and sombre one then people will claim Love & Thunder was good all along.
The Zelda cycle
Kat Dennings needed more scenes in her Birthday Suit
I think the tone of Taika's films is just making people yearn for something more genuine. When Frigga dies in Dark World, the whole movie stops to have that beautiful funeral. And it brings out some real emotion in Loki, who is usually this shitty little weasel.
*moronic MCUbrain voice*UGH THAT PART? OH GOD THAT WAS SOOO LAME, LIKE WHY DID IT GET SO SERIOUS? LOL THAT MOVIE WAS SO EDGY AND STUPID.
go back
I want to tie a nude Kat Dennings up and tickle torture her.
I saw Love and Thunder today and liked it.
It need on or two more Gorr scenes though. Maybe show him actually butchering a god.
Literally the only morons talking about this movie is you people who keep spouting "hurrdurr dis movie is good right right"
Frick You

No it fricking didn't.

Gonna need a source on that
Pretty Much Yeah.
Love and thunder was bad but dark world is still worse
I still remember watching it and thinking it was litteraly... okay. Why did people hate it ?
