Cyclops, Jean Gray, Kamala because he needs to do something mutant related there, Nightcrawler, Jubilee, mysterious metal guy from the future who turns out to after the credits to Shogo Lee from the future before he gets adopted and someone like the blue guy from Guardians of the Galaxy who's older than the last and more anti-hero veteran.
>Cyclops needs to be the main character.
Nah, they need to really go in on the ensemble cast aspect this time. No more one mutant taking centre stage like they did with Wolverine, Professor X, Magneto and Mystique.
>I mean in the comics he has always been the "main character"
not really, that's just what his fanboys who self-insert as him think. There have been many times in the history of the X-Men where Cyclops has been in the peripheral.
>coping this hard
Cyclops is literally the protagonist of the X-Men. For all of its myriads of spin-offs, if Cyclops isn't in a book, it's inconsequential. Literally every single big player in the X-Verse revolves around Cyclops. >Xavier is his father figure and founder of the X-Men >Magneto is Xavier's rival and used to want to lure Cyclops into the Brotherhood, eventually radicalizing him as the decades went by >Jean is his first love and the Phoenix >Emma is his rebound and carries all Hellfire Club stories >Sinister is a threat specifically because he wants to make him breed with Jean to produce a mutant powerful enough to frick with Apocalypse >Maddie only happened because Sinister was that obsessed with Scott's cum >Cable is his son >Rachel, who marries Franklin, is his daughter >the most powerful "mutant", X-Man, is his and Jean's genetic test tube baby from an AU because Scott's cum fertilising Jean's eggs is pretty much a constant >the Mutant Saviour is his adopted granddaughter and it was planned to make her actually blood related to the Summers bloodline >Vulcan, Emperor of the Shi'ar, is his brother
The entire X-Verse revolves around Scott and his dick (and its proximity to Jean's c**t). Anyone who says he's the most boring character can have his opinion because enjoyment of a character is subjective, but he's the most important person in the entire line. Any title that doesn't feature him or a character in very close proximity to him, literally does not matter.
It's like how people in-universe pretend Captain America is the most important figure in the super-hero community. But that's only because they have to, since he's Captain Murica. Meanwhile Cyclops is so central to the entire X-Mythos that he's more akin to a modern day take on a Mythical King archetype. The Summers-Grey Bloodline is literal Mutant Royalty.
Cyclops and Storm, the two traditional team leaders in the comics, were both done dirty in the Singerverse movies. Jean, Xavier, and Rogue all got solid screentime. Wolverine is Wolverine.
The rest of the squad should be based on the long-term plans for the team. They say they're doing Sinister, so what storyline are they building to? If they're doing Inferno or X-Cutioner's Song then they need Jean. If they're doing Everything is Sinister then they don't. Xavier and Rogue aren't necessary for either of those.
I'll go with 7, same as Avengers on launch, and that's going to be Giant Size relaunch team plus Jean, so you're looking at Cyclops, Wolverine, Storm, Colossus, Nightcrawler, Banshee, and Jean. And I'll be bold enough to suggest no Professor, he's ether indisposed. with the Shiar, or dead, and villain group is Hellfire Club.
Because Thunderbird died and Sunfire left, leaving him as the 6th man of the Giant Size lineup. You could swap him for Shadowcat, but I feel she'd work better as a sequel character.
Have it be set after Dark Phoenix with the X-Men having basically gone dark in the aftermath of Jean's death, the Professor gone and mutants on the brink of extinction. A sudden surge in new mutants prompted by all the multiversal frickery brings the X-Men back and causes them to step out of the shadows and onto the public stage.
Actually, maybe replace Shadowcat with Rogue? You lose the Colossus and Shadowcat romance, but you have a perfect precedent to have Rogue get Carol's powers now that they're sharing a universe.
Say what you will about Whedon, but this would pretty much be the perfect MCU starter pack X-Team
>Cyclops as leader >Emma Frost as the defector whose allegiance is called into question >Wolverine as the foil to Cyclops and the requisite tough guy >Beast as the brains >Colossus as the muscle >Kitty as the audience surrogate >Cyclops and Emma have a burgeoning romance with Cyclops learning to get over Jean and Emma learning to let her guard down >Wolverine doesn't have Jean to creep on, so he just gets to be the gruff mentor figure >Colossus and Kitty get a more direct romantic subplot as well
Maybe throw in Storm for representation and you're good to go.

Cyclops
Jean Grey
Wolverine
Storm
Nightcrawler
Beast
Jubilee
Kitty Pryde
The other big characters can be spread out to X-Force, X-Factor, Excalibur (Kitty and Nightcrawler can move to this team to let other people become "main" X-Men", New Mutants, etc.
Cyclops
Jean Gray
Iceman
Beast
Angel
Wolverine but it's Laura
and then Storm and Colossus also exist but just chill in the mansion until the next movie
First movie is Cyclops, Jean Grey, Angel, Beast and Iceman, with Polaris and Havok joining near the end of the movie.
All white actors, no homosexualry.
Second movie is Deadly Genesis, but maybe switch out Wolverine for Kitty Pryde or Rogue. We've had enough Logan for a while.
Cyclops
Orororo
Jean
Logan
Nightcrawler is how we start.
We quickly kill off Jean and replace with Emma.
And after a fling with Storm, Logan fricks off to do his solo movies, getting replaced by the now good Magneto.
So.
Cyclops, Emma, Nightcrawler, Ororo, Magneto is endgame.
Storm - leader (off and on romance with Logan)
Wolverine (mentor to kitty)
Colossus (boyfriend of kitty, conservative, aloof like cyclops but sensitive)
Nightcrawler (best friend of Logan, tries to prevent the others from killing)
Kitty (takes oh my science! role from beast, ninja training from logan)
Archangel (everyone's friend, but is a wildcard/danger to everyone because of apocalypse's programming)
Emma (manipulation of everyone, no one's friend)
Introducing Emma into the team without Cyclops around to serve as an anchor for why she's allowed to stay there doesn't work. Wolverine would hold nothing but mistrust for her and Storm wouldn't be keen on her either without some ordeal that proves herself trustworthy.
YES.
They need Cyclops, Storm, and Wolverine in the main lineup.
Cyclops needs to be the main character.
Beyond that I'm flexible.
>Cyclops needs to be the main character.
this
Setting yourselves up for disappointment again, eh?
Who knows about cyclops.
>Cyclops needs to be the main character.
Nah, they need to really go in on the ensemble cast aspect this time. No more one mutant taking centre stage like they did with Wolverine, Professor X, Magneto and Mystique.
I mean in the comics he has always been the "main character" but it still feels like a team book.
They just have to do the same in the MCU.
>I mean in the comics he has always been the "main character"
not really, that's just what his fanboys who self-insert as him think. There have been many times in the history of the X-Men where Cyclops has been in the peripheral.
A handful of times only and when the story was completely irrelevant.
I think people would like Cyclops more if you guys would stop pushing him as.rhe biggest deal and most interesting character ever
Nope. People are never gonna like Cyclops like that when they can suck wolverine's dick. Better for things to continue as they are.
Yes really. He is the X-Man.
this "self-insert" meme is starting to alienate dumbasses who don't read comics I see

>Cyclops, Storm, and Wolverine
That's interesting. Do you not consider Jean or Professor X or Rogue to be mainstays? At least on the level of Storm?
Cyclops and Storm, the two traditional team leaders in the comics, were both done dirty in the Singerverse movies. Jean, Xavier, and Rogue all got solid screentime. Wolverine is Wolverine.

Colossus is boring af without Magik. His storylines are milktoast and he only serves to be background comfort guy, dumb muscle or kitty's thirst trap.
Colossus exists to introduce his sister into the plot and throw Wolverine at things.

Because Thunderbird died and Sunfire left, leaving him as the 6th man of the Giant Size lineup. You could swap him for Shadowcat, but I feel she'd work better as a sequel character.
