Would he have been better than Dalton? At the time, he was locked in but NBC renewed a show he was contractually obligated to return to and cucked him out of the role and it eventually went to Dalton as a second choice. What do Bondbros feel about this?
Some more photos.
What's an actual good non-Bond movie Brosnan has been in that isn't Mrs. Doubtfire?
Lawnmower Man is a fun B-horror movie.
if you're asking that then you've never seen the thomas crown affair. you're in for a good time bro
Thomas Crown Affair sister-bros, we eatin good tonight.
Clearly not, I'm afraid.
>In 2016, Michael B. Jordan had approached Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer to pitch a new adaptation of the story, with hopes of starring in the lead role.[22][23] By April 2023 after previously acquiring MGM, Amazon announced plans to reboot the franchise, with a new feature film in development through the company's Amazon Studios.
ruined by a very gross rene russo
Mamma Mia? 😀
The Thomas Crown Affair
Seraphim Falls
Butterfly on a Wheel
Off the top of my head.
>Seraphim Falls
legendary. He ambushes Liam Neeson by gutting a cow and waiting inside of it until he comes by.
They one upped the scene where Harrison Ford put some of those intestines on Mark Hamill to keep him warm.
The Matador was fun. Also The Ghost Writer.
'The Greatest' is pretty good. It's a movie about dealing with loss, so you know that role hit close to home for Pierce. I even liked 'Taffin'.
The Fourth Protocol and The Ghost are both good.
But my favorite thing he's done is the TV miniseries Noble House, adaptation of a novel by the writer of Shogun.
it's good but it's certainly not as good as remington steele
Remington Steele is fun. Noble House is epic.
>fantasies of a roastie
No wonder Brosnan absolutely despised it and wanted out as soon as possible. Imagine his utter rage when they cucked him out of Bond for this cheap show for roasties and then cancelled it anyway shortly after and then Dalton got the job when it was LOCKED IN for him and him only.
he didnt despise it at all. he just wanted to move up to filming bond
It would seem he was fine with it as a stepping stone or just indifferent and came to despise the whole thing after the NBC fricks cost him the biggest movie role in existence only to cancel the show again anyway.
Taffin
the matador
The Foreigner is a good recent one. Brosnan's best non-Bond movies are the ones where he starred as a deutragonist or a supporting actor. So Seraphim Falls, the Ghost, the Matador, the Tailor of Panama, the Thomas Crown Affair, the Fourth protocol.
>The Foreigner
Good recommendation. Avoid 'Butterfly On A Wheel', that one is shit.
Dantes Peak was the shit when I was young watched it all the time
He was great in the Fourth Protocol.
Ghost Writer is kino
He's great in The Matador
Mars Attacks
Dalton is the best
/thread. Brosnan is fine, though.
Brosnan is easily the best, come on now.
Dalton and Brosnan have the same metrosexual handsome Bond vibe but Dalton acts circles around Brosnan (Brosnan is still pretty good).
>metrosexual
How on earth did you get that impression? Graig fits that bill though.
I'm 27 and I've never watched the lawnmower or even seen Remington Steele
Dalton was better. he was a psycho
Neither.
Lewis Collins should have been the one.
No. I like Brosnan, I think his movies are entertaining, but Dalton is the closest Bond has ever been to the actual character, a sociopath with carte blanche.
If only he'd gotten the role in his prime years. He'd definitely have done more than Moore or Connery and cemented himself as THE 007, with TLD and LtK to his Bond resume.
Disagree. He could do it well but Dalton has this very good-guy aura that doesn't mesh well with the scenes. I've never understood why he's praised so much because of that. Brosnan channeled that aspect of Bond in his movies too and did it a bit better only because of his looks. He has incredibly kino eyes and glare. I think Brosnan was the best to play the character, by looks and acting ability alone. Goldeneye, barring lady M, is perfection and S+ tier Bond movie, only next to Goldfinger.
I now understand why Cubby was so obsessed with this guy. Intoxicating charisma just from a still picture.
eh. i was disappointed by golden eye. he lacked the boyish charm and the swagger he had as steele. as bond he never seemed relaxed
The duality of man. Myself, I think he should have gotten the part in 86 and Bond needs some boyish charm because at the end of the day, he was the absolute prettyboy chad type in his school and that's what adds to the fantasy. I imagine most of us were the unpopular or quiet kids who revered and envied such a man to death and as such, the fantasy of Bond is completed with Brosnan in the role to me. He's the quintessential Bond and I've always felt this. Dalton was a great Fleming's Bond and Connery is the stuff of legend but Brosnan is the perfect representaiton on what the global consescus is on who Bond is.
That's your opinion, but I disagree. Bond is in no way a "prettyboy", he's the embodiment of that "swag is for boys, class is for men" meme, the guy was a sex symbol for wearing a white tuxedo in an age when film icons started wearing jeans and t-shirts.
I didn't say he was a prettyboy if you bothered to not speed-read my post. I said SOME boyish charm.
Must not have watched the same movie then, anon cause what you said is completely ludicrous.
so brosnan is the right pick then
>He could do it well but Dalton has this very good-guy aura that doesn't mesh well with the scenes.
What? Timothy Dalton has never played an out and out hero. It's anti-hero at best.
I don't know, he has a very likeable physiognomy and personality (judging from interviews) so it surprises me he hasn't played many heroes. I look at Brosnan and see a harder edge to him.
Good lord Pierce was handsome
brosnan had more important roles
Nah, in 86 he still looks too boyish to pull of Bond. The Bond character is very much supposed to be an experienced middle-aged man (which is why he was being played by a senior citizen beforehand). Dalton was a better choice.
>very much supposed to be an experienced middle-aged man
after 4 seasons of steele audiences would have lapped it up
I think that's an artefact of modern perceptions of age. We tend to think of actors in their 30s as young, and middle age beginning with 40s. An early thirties Bond is perfect really.
the last dalton one was very sad. he had jowls
Dalton is a good actor and seems like a great chap, but The Living Daylights is one of the worst Bond movies, very amateur in almost every respect.
>I thought Christmas comes only once a year
The best Bond, tied with Connery. The rest I'm completely indifferent about.
Saw an interview with him on youtube. He was in an English boarding school. He said he wasn't at home and: "The English have a wonderful way of letting you feel it". I remember it because of the way he put it.
If only he'd been in TLD, it'd be the greatest Bond movie of all time without a doubt. Only thing I would change is to add one more Bond girl even if Kara is S tier. Use the theme PSB had prepared, as good as a-ha's song was. It would have been one for the ages but nonsense got in the way as they often do.
The Living Daylights had great Bond and great Bond girl but a shite Bond villain and a boring third act. Necros was a good henchman.
Dalton was the best Bond so I'm okay with it.
>Have mancrush on Pierce Brosnan
>Seen most of the things he's in
>Can't bring myself to watch 'Mamma Mia!'
I can't.
It‘s camp kino. Though probably best enjoyed with company.
Also amanda seyfried is hot as frick
cant even rewatch season 5 of stgeele because it's so depressing
in summary remington steele and noble house are quintessential brosnanwatching
