You never saw Alien 3?
Every Resident Evil sequel?
The Taken sequels?
Iron Man 3?
Ant Man 3?
Amazing Spiderman 2?
Star Wars 7-9?
Indiana Jones 4 and 5?
Easily one of the strangest, worst opening scenes for any major theatrical release of any film in all of time. God she was AWFUL. https://youtu.be/lTAuvVzZgFU
>go to see Indiana Jones film >some moronic low-talent b***h blocks the opening titles and begins to sing very, very badly >”but we made it bad, as a joke!”
Na man, THEY don’t get it. I almost walked out and in hindsight, I should have.
It's all homage to the pictures of the era. The year, setting and female lead are shown to us right off the bat without just putting text on the screen.
Anything Goes made it's Broadway debut in 1934. Temple takes place in '35. The set design & Mandarin vocals clue us into the location - Shanghai. She's hammy, slips on stage and is performing a lounge act in a seedy, mob-run nightclub, immediately characterizing this female lead as a far departure from Raiders' Marion Ravenwood.
This is the shit (+zombie voodoo and near-death) that would lead to Indy prioritizing his professorship in the span of the next year leading up to Raiders.
If you perceive this woman as a whiny, disloyal, fame-chasing prostitute who is not worth the trouble and believes she is entitled to things simply because she exists, congratulations - Spielberg has redpilled you (spoiler: he's a pederast.)
It's a definite improvement but still the worst out the first 3 films, the contrarians who try to meme it into some misunderstood masterpiece are insufferable.
This. I dont get the hate for 2 and 3. The original trilogy were just fun adventure movies. They didn't shoehorn any preachy messages or anything. They had a lot of kino characters and sets and well choreographed fight/chase scenes. It actually felt like they were trying, which is more than you can say about anything being made today.
Mermaids, Ian McShane, epic fountain fight with epic Blackbeard death. There was a good chase scene I think in a city. Paul McCartney. Plenty of things.
Jack and Hector tied up drinking from the wooden leg talking about what happened to the Pearl, the Mermaid hunt, Jack meeting the king and escaping the castle, the Spanish ignoring Hector's ship and wrecking shit at the end of the movie,
Watch more sequels. Wasn't even worse and was definitely more memorable than DMC, the only redeeming factor of which was Jones and sexy pirate mode Norrington
When I read about how much johnny cares about this series it kind of gave me a new respect for the newer ones. They really aren't terrible if you ignore all the other ones. But maybe were being condition with bad movies for so long now they seem good.
I'm not sure how people can think it's inferior to the third movie. It's an improvement in every capacity and I felt the characterization of Sparrow was more true to Pearl than either 2 or 3
>Every other actor has to do teeth make-up so it looks like authentic yellow pirate teeth with some of it missing >Johnny has to wear veneers to cover his rotten stumps because his teeth are too bad for even for a pirate

Might as well throw Indiana Jones 2 in there. Frick the whiny blonde chick with the moronic name

why the frick don't we get movies beginning with topless men banging big gongs any more?
This is great though. You think it's some epic adventure, but then it's just a cheesy dance number, then the adventure starts again.
Alien 3 assembly cut is good though
It's a definite improvement but still the worst out the first 3 films, the contrarians who try to meme it into some misunderstood masterpiece are insufferable.
I prefer World's End over Dead Man's Chest but nothing comes close to Black Pearl.
>I prefer World's End over Dead Man's Chest
Fricking how....
That'd be two
>yarrr I'm the big bad sea man
>yarr mah woman she hates me
>yarr jack sparrah
>yarrr it's my fault yes
>yarrr shes to blame tho
At leasst the thing had Barbie
Ah, but you have seen it
Underrated
You’ve obviously never seen Caddyshack II.
Name a single thing that happens in On Stranger Tides
I only remember Ian McShane was in it
Uhhh the Spanish were painfully KINO and destroyed the fountain. Too bad they were only in the movie for five minutes
I remember thinking the mermaid fight was cool
I remember there were a bunch of scenes where characters awkwardly point things at the camera because it was a 3D movie
I enjoyed 1,2 and 3. 4 and the movies after that were abysmal.

Penelope Cruz pirate boobs
Jack and Hector tied up drinking from the wooden leg talking about what happened to the Pearl, the Mermaid hunt, Jack meeting the king and escaping the castle, the Spanish ignoring Hector's ship and wrecking shit at the end of the movie,
Not even the worst Pirates sequel
>yag sbarro :DDDD
what the frick man, it has so many kino moments. the crabs carrying black pearl and jack's immediate reaction was peak cinema
is that the one with the sexual tension between jack and lizabeth
Watch more sequels. Wasn't even worse and was definitely more memorable than DMC, the only redeeming factor of which was Jones and sexy pirate mode Norrington
Worst one in the series but if saying one of the worst ever makes me think you havent watched many movies.
you clearly have not seen pirates 4 and 5
good decision not to see them by the way
what ARR ya doin'
amber heard will probably narrowly dodge going to hell for her many sins simply because she ended this trainwreck of a franchise
I actually prefer the 4th one because at least Penelope Cruz is lovely to look at all film while 3 doesn't really have anything going for it.
I thought the pirate meeting was pretty neato as a kid. Still do.
You haven't watched enough movies
Stranger Tides is completely fine as a standalone adventure movie.
When I read about how much johnny cares about this series it kind of gave me a new respect for the newer ones. They really aren't terrible if you ignore all the other ones. But maybe were being condition with bad movies for so long now they seem good.
Series and character. And he made a really good point he 100% made Jack sparrow his own character it's basically his thought property.
I'm not sure how people can think it's inferior to the third movie. It's an improvement in every capacity and I felt the characterization of Sparrow was more true to Pearl than either 2 or 3
Blackbeard kinda sucked as a villain. Barbosa, Beckett, and Jones were all cooler.
>Pirates of the Caribbean 3 is the worst fricking sequel I've ever seen
Mark Kerrrrrrmode liked it.
I enjoy all the Pirates movies
Except 5 of course.
i really hope the franchise is done so they can finally do the monkey island movie they were supposed to make to begin with
>Every other actor has to do teeth make-up so it looks like authentic yellow pirate teeth with some of it missing
>Johnny has to wear veneers to cover his rotten stumps because his teeth are too bad for even for a pirate
Method acting gone too far
