This. About how he gets more ambitious and ruthless and builds up his deatheater following.
It would paralel nicely with Harry's story at Hogwarts but in an opposite way.

It would certainly be a more interesting spinoff than the Fantastic Beasts shit

Keep the movies the same except fire David Yates after OofP and have Columbus/or Newell direct half blood prince and Alfonso direct the last two. Inject way more magic useage and visual consistency. Change any small bullshit I don't like that's in the original. For example have Harry and Hermione be together and have Ron date somebody else. Change Ronson security motive in a cup of fire feeling like shit about himself not stacking up to his own perceived self-worth and have them really focus on improving himself rather than just being pussy at Harry for absolutely no reason. Make order the Phoenix a lot more schizo oriented. Harry has the whole school against him with the looming threat of Hitler coming back to kill him and almost everybody gaslighting him while he's hallucinates. We need to see him spiraling and reach the lowest point in the film and then be rebirth through acceptance from the order of the Phoenix and Ron and Hermione getting him the credit he deserves.

That's what I'll be a remake by the way. If I have to do a new idea what the Harry Potter name and I would be a spin-off or what not. I would probably have it focused on their children. Albus and his friend group Id probably limit it to like four or five. Have them essentially be mirrors to what Harry and Hermione and Ron used to be when they were kids so instead of having Harry's bravery and determination he would be insecure and a little timid because of who his father is in the legacy and pressure that's constantly put upon him. I'm near the same things for Ron and Hermione's children take aspects of the personality that made them stand out in inverse it. Have the first season really established their characters and have them over the course of the first season go through impactful changes that improve themselves. Afterwards I would tease a villain that will actually challenge how much they've improved themselves and have them all fail initially because they were being brash and reckless. Because while they were self improving they were all so diluting themselves into trying to be people that they're not like Harry Hermione and Ron. When they have to find their own identity and use the abilities that they're good at. They then regroup and take down the monster or villain. They would get praise from whatever had master was there

And that's it. a nice message about kids living in the legacy of their fathers and mothers finding their own identities worn out of insecurity and humility and then using that newfound inner strength to take down the obstacle that's in front of them

Hermione makes a huge batch of polyjuice potion and has Dobby and the house elfs put it into the soup for the big Halloween feast. It's Christmas break. Everyone is all fricked out, turns back into themselves, goes home to think about what they've done and reevaluate their lives. But the Death Eaters attack the Wizarding towns and shit. The only one not getting his ass kicked is Harry, because he's by himself back at Hogwarts because the idea of spending time with Dudley after weeks of having a vegana fisted while being spanked and choked has caused thoughts about Dudley he is embarrassed by and he's afraid of how he will act. But yeah, Harry is the only one not getting his ass kicked by the Death Eaters, so he is the only one who can save everybody. He makes a giant batch of polyjuice potion and has the house elfs load it into a thousand super soakers. His elf army attacks the Death Eaters by spraying them with polyjuice and they all turn into Harry Potter. But things get so confusing that everyone turns into Harry Potter, except for Hermione, who was hiding. So every wizard in Britain is now Harry Potter except for Hermione, and they can't control themselves. A million Harry Potters drag Hermione out of her hiding place and line up with their wizard boners out and run the longest, most brutal gangbang in the history of both muggles and wizards. At the end, Dumbledore awards 100 points to Slytherin because without Voldemort and the Death Eaters none of this could have happened.

The non-magic world discovers the existence of the wizard world. The societal and political implications of this and the inevitable conflict that would arrise as modern militaries and wizards end up sharing the same battlefield could be interesting...but it'd be ruined by modern Hollywood

I never read the books so there could be some lore I don't know about but, the wizarding world is in hiding. I always presumed it was due them being feared and discriminated against. If a bunch of angry Medieval peasants are enough to frick up magic users then what chance do magic users stand against the contemporary world?

Magic users are way out numbered - and you then have the question if they could put up a united front. Many of them know little about the muggle world - and even those like Ron's dad (who have an interest and are involved with it) are rather clueless. How is your typical magic user going to deal with something like a sniper rifle or a cruise missile?

        Anonymous

The witch hunts weren't a threat to real witches, all those people they killed were muggles. The wizards just got sick of our shit and cast a spell that made the entire planet forget that they'd ever existed.

And Arthur may not know what a rubber duck is for but he's not stupid, he was able to modify a car to make it fly and turn invisible. Also in the 6th book there was a bit where Harry saw Kingsley Shacklebolt on TV, he'd infiltrated the Prime Minister's protection detail to protect him from Voldemort, if the wizards had hostile intentions it would be child's play for them to mind control, replace, or murder all the worlds governments overnight. For snipers or cruise missiles to be useful you need to know where the wizards are, which muggles don't.

          Anonymous

          >For snipers or cruise missiles to be useful you need to know where the wizards are, which muggles don't.
It only takes a few wizard turncloaks. Wouldn't be surprising if muggle-born wizards, just in general, side with the muggle world if the wizarding world plans to go to war against the muggles.

Why the frick wouldn't they reward them afterwards? Do you think the world government is going to go full final solution on wizards rather than use them to increase their power?

          >he was able to modify a car to make it fly and turn invisible
I used to think the engine still running when it's flying was a stupid oversight, but now that I think about Arthur probably legitimately believes it wouldn't fly without it

            Anonymous

The book seems to imply that the engine actually was making it fly, that Arthur had somehow modified it to generate the levitation spell:

            >But the car had begun to shudder and was losing speed. "Come on," Ron said cajolingly, giving the steering wheel a little shake, "nearly there, come on -" The engine groaned. Narrow jets of steam were issuing from under the hood. Harry found himself gripping the edges of his seat very hard as they flew toward the lake. The car gave a nasty wobble. Glancing out of his window, Harry saw the smooth, black, glassy surface of the water, a mile below. Ron's knuckles were white on the steering wheel. The car wobbled again. "Come on," Ron muttered. They were over the lake - the castle was right ahead - Ron put his foot down. There was a loud clunk, a splutter, and the engine died completely.
            >"Uh-oh," said Ron, into the silence.
            >The nose of the car dropped. They were falling, gathering speed, heading straight for the solid castle wall.

1st book is a lot of setting the scene, exploring different spells and summons. The title plot kicks in fairly late. This one (2nd book) is more plot driven with multiple factions, and somebody employing medieval israelite sorcery to carry out assassinations. The golem is a terrifying opponent.

"Oh, nothing much," said Harry. "Just cucking you, Ron."

"What?" said Ron, his face turning red.

"Yeah, I'm cucking you," said Harry. "I'm screwing Hermione behind your back. And it feels great."

"You bastard!" said Ron. "I'll kill you!"

"Go ahead and try, Ron," said Harry. "But you'll never catch me. I'm the smarter wizard, and the better man. You're just a pathetic little boy who'll never amount to anything."

Is the American wizarding world more powerful than the British one? I got the impression the British wizarding world was the most powerful. If the American one is equal or weaker than the British one then the Americans can likely do frick all.

I feel like there has to be a bigger wizard population in America and that they would also be somewhat militarized after all the shit the moronic Euros pull with Grindelwald and Voldemort

What makes the real-world/muggle-world USA more powerful than the UK does not necessarily translate when it comes to the wizarding world. I cannot think of the term but, it seems like the sort of thing that would give Britain such a head start advantage it would be difficult for the Americans to ever catch up. Britain has had a wizarding community seemingly before the time of Christ, and at very least they have had a community since the Medieval era.

Presumably American's wizarding community was founded by British immigrants. It may be reasonable to assume, considering the wizarding world is detached from the state of the muggle world, that: 1) few wizards/witches (not just from Britain but elsewhere like France and Germany) never immigrated to America, and 2) the most powerful individuals / families stayed in Europe. So America may not actually have the strongest base when it comes to wizarding population.

You then also get to the question of how the American wizarding education compares to that of the UK or elsewhere. Plus, Britain - just having more time to accumulate notable individuals throughout history - may have various globally influential institutions and be sitting on countless powerful relics. So even if the American magic community is larger it may not equate to them being more powerful as a collective.

Possibly? Frankly, I could see the main difference being traditionalism vs innovation. Like, British Wizards are older and more established but also far more backwards. While American wizards are innovative and generally more able to work with the modern world. The history of the USA means the wizard and muggle world are most likely much more closely linked than the UK.

            >Russia school
            >idk just lump everybody else by continent
            Based Rowling

it just seems like the non-European countries are the NPCs of the global wizarding world.

What would make the American more innovative than the British one? Because if you compare them to their muggle-world comparisons then the UK is not especially anymore conservative, traditionalist etc. in a meaningful way then compared to the USA. If anything there are areas that the USA is more traditionalist in than the UK.

According to Hack Rowling, Native Americans practised wandless magic and did pretty well. Wands were a European invention. She got flak for cultural appropriation before she could expound on that and I don't even know/care enough at that point if it's still considered the official history

Isn't Merlin the canonical founder of all magic?

          Anonymous

Seemingly not as the wiki states
          >Merlin was born sometime during the medieval era.[5] During his formative years, he attended Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, and was sorted into Slytherin House.[4] It is possible that he was taught by Salazar Slytherin himself, given the time period Merlin lived in.

            >he attended Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, and was sorted into Slytherin House.
But Merlin and Arthurian legends are set around 500AD, while Hogwarts was constructed around 900AD.
            How is that possible?

I want to believe this is a reference to Merlin aging backwards in the myths and his "Birth" is actually his death. But I know Rowling is not clever enough for that.

    >What would make the American more innovative than the British one?
Lack of traditions and a closer connection to the muggle world. Like they are all way more adapt at combining technology and magic and way more willing to take great risks to compete with older more established places.

    >Because if you compare them to there muggle-world comparisons then the UK is not especially conservative, traditionalist etc.
Sure. But they are way less innovative on average. At least nowadays. Plus, the Wizard world we see in Harry Potter is absolutely highly conservatives, traditionalist, and isolated.
