It's not even that they suck their dick, it's because of dumb shit like "my grandkids like Pixar and Disney". Half of the voting members of the Academy never even watch the Animation nominees.
Seriously, what the frick happened? Like 10 years ago, every movie they made was 10/10. Now they're no better than any other animation studio, often worse
>genuinely passionate creatives make a thing good >thing gets popular/successful >sensing opportunity, ideological infiltrators arrive and turn thing into a cynical instrument of ideology >old creatives leave >thing goes to shit
Many such cases
This is literally EXACTLY what happened to the podcast Reply All. The creators thought they were being "progressive" by hiring a bunch of women and minorities (based only on them being women and minorities, not based on their talent) Turns out, the diversity hires couldn't produce a single good story or episode, so the creators didn't air those shitty episodes. So the diversity hires complained, of course, and kicked the original creators off their own show. Lesson learned. Get what little get
CalArts curriculum succumbed to lazy L.A. artist influence/simplified their style for the convenience of the ever stingy studios
The 07 economic crash making it so only rich kids apply to art school
Disney buyout of Pixar very slowly removing their creative freedom
The removal of John Lasseter as creative director/the only person protecting Disney artists from the suits
Soulless Bob Iger and his follow up Cheapek synergizing harder than Eisner ever could
Taking initiatives to hire more coastal, social politics obsessed leftist women and less creative weirdos like Tim Burton or Don Bluth
>seriously, what happened
John lasseter got kicked out for being a serial toucher. Not a wienstien level guy by any means, but enough to make him leave. The guy was majorly responsible for almost all of pixar's success and even some of Disney's (making frozen about elsa was his call) so they are directionless without him and easily bullied by Disney. I fully feel that if he was still around this movie would not have been made.
I feel like in the creativity process you need absolute chads like lasseter and stein to rape women in order to keep them in their place and not open their mouths and say stupid shit
It's called getting woke and going broke. They also axed the man responsible for Pixar being the success that it was, but I saw someone else already mentioned that in their (you)
I remember growing up there were all these Pixar soibois acting like Toy Story 3, Ratatouille, etc. were masterpieces. Seems weird looking back now, they were just kid flicks.
Ratatouille had the best script of any film that year. Yes, better than No Country and There Will Be Blood. Please get taste, frog poster. Calling masterpieces kiddy stuff doesn’t make objective shit like Turning Red less reprehensible.
Stuff from the Pixar golden era really WAS good though. They were turning out hit after hit and these movies all felt like they told heartwarming and relatable stories worth telling. I think today Pixar focuses too much on subjective identity stories. Take Wall-E for instance, the main characters aren't even human and can hardly speak but that doesn't prevent us from understanding their emotions and the experiences they're having because the story is being told exceptionally well. Then compare it to Turning Red, which is a very specific story about a Chinese immigrant girl's experiences growing up in Canada. It kind of doesn't matter how well you animate and write a story like that because it's so wrapped up in personal identity factors that creating a deeper meaning that pretty much any audience could appreciate becomes impossible.
identity based story telling is why Pixar sucks now
Disney executives internally poached Pixar employees and technology for other divisions or projects. Essentially, Pixar was consumed by the megacorp. All the talent was dispersed throughout the rest of the company. What remains at Pixar are new hires and a handful of figureheads that don't do much, but have their portraits on the wall.
it will still win an oscar because the academy likes to suck pixar dick

It or Turning Red may win since Spider-Verse 2 dropped out of this year
KWAB
Disney decided to ruin another franchise
There is an entire planet of people who can take their place.
>this triggers /3/
It's funny because at the rate Blender is growing, it'll probably overtake Maya and become industry standard by 2030.
>9 reviews
that doesn't mean anything
If it's that low at the start, it's usually not a great sign.
Pixarbros...its real...

Pixar has literally always been woke.
yeah cars was released 16 years ago we all know
when will people realize the only good space movie is 2001: A Space Odyssey ?

Sisters... we even had a gay kiss for woke points..
There's no point in going for woke points. That'll usually mean you get a million youtube videos about how your film is a failure.
It's the 21st century and Pixar doesn't have a lecherous pervert inserting his man baby notions into every movie anymore.
why are man baby notions so much more cinematic than femcel notions, bros

Damn. And that’s with the Disney bonus too
i can animate better lesbo kisses in daz 3d studios
Fell off
chuds btfo'd
>major character is a lesbo

This must be an absolute disaster.
>the chuds are review bombing the sc-
>Lightyear
>not Lightgear
… wait what
last two digits of my post is the audience score
Minionsbros.... this is our summer!
I would rather watch this than any modern Pixar stuff, to me it shows how far they've fallen.
can i pay an escort to watch this movie with her? would be awkward for me to go alone to a minions movie.
>fell off
>he thinks fell off is new
zoom zoom
>going from Turning Red to that
What a fall from grace.
