People watched the movie instead of staying home and saying it is bad because of the bad marketing.

But everyone said it’s the worst Pixar film ever. Even more than that dinosaur one

Watched it last night. Not great, not terrible. My bar was “worst Pixar movie” and it’s not that. It really gives you the bare minimum with the romance, the world isn’t thought out that well, and the entire third act feels like a placeholder for a better climax they forgot to write. But I enjoyed watching it in the moment and I liked the two leads together. In addition to the romance (cute) and racism aspects (hilarious), there’s the immigrant family angle and that’s the one with the most effort put into it.

I know anons hate people who sit on the fence, but it’s a 6/10 and I’m gonna defend it as such. People over praising it are cringe and people over bashing it are wrong. If I’m gonna be annoying in these threads defending it as a harmless mediocrity, so be it. Thomas Newman’s music is so fricking good, he thinks he’s scoring a much better movie. That was a nice surprise.

So in short unless you have to bring kids to the cinema or make a habit of going yourself, save your time and money and skip.

If by some turn of events the movie is on, it’s harmless and you won’t be annoyed by it. There’s nothing compelling enough to tell you to actually see it though.

You sound like a literal shill
        >inb4 why would a shill call it average
because people would instantly reject a "9/10" review

What's the actual story? Is there literally anything beyond "fire girl and water guy do wacky dates"?

It’s exactly what the Golden Book this board storytimed was without deviation. It’s not “they go on wacky dates”, set your expectations lower. They have good chemistry, but the movie ends with them getting together. The movie is more concerned with being a plot vehicle.

    >no one watches a movie
    >now the diehards and shills are the only ones left to rate movie
Reminds me of when Fallout 76 had an "overwhelmingly positive" on steam for a while.

The only people who still bother to watch Pixar movies will put up with anything

Elemental is a box office disaster. The only people showing up are people who worship the Pixar brand

Why is it that recent Pixar films appease more towards millennial adults than families anymore.
At least with their earlier output, anyone of all ages can enjoy it.

Do the fire and water frick?

Only thing I need to know

      Nope.
Oddly enough the final line of the movie is the fire parents saying they’re going to have sex when the daughter is gone.
