There's too much unrelatable yiddish humor in this movie. The 80s was an era of unashamed yidslop comedies. Airplane is to blame in my opinion.

Everything feels forced and low brow. There's zero subtlety, and it's never clever, but when I watched it I couldn't help but realize that there is literally people in this world that would consider this one of their favorite movies of all time and actually laugh at it.
You're saying that a very obvious parody of Star Wars needs to be more subtle about it? There are also plenty of jokes in it that a person could easily miss. I don't see how what you stated classifies as "reddit humor".
