I used to hate these fricking things and I still don't really like them, but I would take having the shittiest 9gag rage comics plastered fricking everywhere for the rest of eternity if it meant never seeing a wojak ever again.
I never understood the comparisons that people made between rage comics and the chad vs virgin meme, it comes from out of nowhere really as the troll face was never really a 'chad' but just someone with a ruse, someone mischievous but not maliciously, a joker and a kidder as well as clever, as rage comics were for the most part light-hearted. They could be raunchy, but never hateful or spiteful.
I feel like with wojaks and those types of memes it's kinda the opposite, where people pour all their negative energy into them and that's all they radiate.
This is also why >rage comics but with le wojak faces
always seems to fail or feels tonally off.
It's also almost as though there aren't rage faces that emit/evoke the same emotions or even 'vibe' as some wojaks, like a language barrier.
There isn't an equivalent to the npc wojak in rage comic form, ya know?

I honestly wouldn't mind wojack if he was still used in the original fricking context of just goofy "That feel" shit. The fact he's been turned into this avatar for making fun of other people in just another variant of "Thing me like good me attractive, thing you like bad and you ugly" has completely destroyed the original intention and is also infinitely more obnoxious and worn out. I hate it too. I miss when memes were just meant to be humorous and nothing more, it makes the era of rage comics and advice animals that much more appealing.
I have a feeling this is just an extension of a greater issue with the modern internet as a whole and the whole attitude people have now. People are cranky, everything is ironic, but you can use memes to share how you really feel about everybody and everything.
